Riots have an immediate social and economic impact on the community the riot occurs in. Businesses and property are destroyed, and people killed or injured. Insurance costs go up, businesses lose money while they repair and rebuild, people working for those affected businesses may be laid off or let go. Personal property is destroyed (vehicles, homes etc) Insurance costs go up as claims are made to repair or replace property. Transportation is affected. LEO response time to other emergencies is significantly impacted due to dealing with rioting. Hospitals may be overwhelmed with casualties and patient care affected. In short, this gigantic temper tantrum serves no purpose other than to hurt communities and people that in truth are not the reason for the anger in the first place.
