this was probably said by the french leader Clemenceau because he strongly disagreed with Germany having any chance of revenge and the fourteen points helped Germany in a way. in my opinion the treaty was too harsh even tho in 25 years time there was another war .

the 14 points was by our president Theodore Roosevelt in the late 1800's and yes it did support Germany in few select ways.

i don't think that the first answer is illogical and they did read the question right. hes not rejecting his own 14 points if he strongly protest that the treaty does not follow his own points. maybe Wilson did not say this statement but the first person has a logical answer based at least purely on semantics even if it is wrong.
