In a 2009 matiz you must gently pop out the housing (silver) from above the heating controls all the way up to the dials. It is one piece. Start at the bottom and move gently upwards. When this is done you will see the screws to remove both left and right. There are brackets screwed into the sides of the head unit which you will need to remove also. If you want to replace with a different model the bad news is you will need a new housing and cable adaptor (from halfords for about £12). Its a pain in the backside but can be done. Once you have the new parts, follow your common sense and then gently replace the housing from the top first and then applying equal pressure all the way down until it clicks fully in. Hope this helps, wish I had found an answer before I started! :)

These are simple dipoles -- T-shaped wire, with the arms about 2 feet long and a longer center wire with a connector on the end. Similar antennas are available from other vendors too. Be aware that depending on when you bought the Wave radio, it may have either a standard F connector or a 1/8 inch minijack on the back for antenna connections -- make sure you get the right one. And yes, you can plug a more sophisticated indoor or outdoor antenna into the same jack. With any antenna, its effectiveness depends on where you locate it. An outdoor antenna has to be pointed in the general direction of the radio station(s) you're trying to receive for best performance. Indoor antennas are highly affected by location and position. You'll have to move them around to find the best location. With a little experimentation you should get a much stronger, cleaner signal than the built-in antenna provides.

There is a code to type in to re-activate your radio. The code is sometimes on the lid of the fusebox located in the engine compartment. You may also find it inside your manual.

The code is specific to the radio in your Honda. The dealer may be able to tell you the code. If they do not have it stored in their computer, you will need to get the Serial # off the radio. With the serial # they can find the code.

You just need 4 nails, between 2 & 3 mm diameter, at least 40 mm long. Push them - carefully - into the holes on the sides (1 per hole) when you feel resistance push a bit further & firmer. Once all four are in place simply pull the radio out (cassette slot is good for light grip).

When removing the nails use a twist / pull action. As an alternative to the nails you could get an old wire coathangar and a pair of pliers to create your very own removal tool. If you can't figure out what to do from looking at a picture (loads available on Internet) then you shouldn't do it. If you're not comfortable with either of the above, then your best bet is just go to your local car audio shop and ask them to do it for you.

On an M reg 106 1.5D it is surprisingly easy. The odd shaped Peugeot radio fits in a standard radio slot. To be honest the easiest thing to do it take it to a Peugeot dealer and ask them nicely to remove it - it will take them thirty seconds using the special tool. Alternatively the Haynes manual tells you how to make up a pair of tools to do the job. A long flat key is slid down each side of the radio and hooks behind the retaining lugs. Get them in place properly and the radio "just" slides out. Replacement radio just slots in, though you will need a conversion kit for the electrics, or to do some soldering.

For the majority of the standard stereos two 'flat keys' are required if you head to you nearest halfords/motor store they're bound to have some and theres a good chance you can just borrow them to rip out the stereo...I don't know how easy they are on different models but my 2000 Zest 2 was virtually welded in lol so may have to involve a screwdriver to get some leverage.

On my 206 (petrol c 2003) the following worked. Insert a pair of small screwdrivers about 3cm in the two holes on the right (until you feel them contact the spring catches) & a thin flat blade between the radio and the trim. Press the screwdrivers outwards to release the catches and gentle east the right hand end of the radio out a cm or so with the help of the blade. Then repeat at the left end. Repeat once more at each end if you need to & then radio should slide out.

I just did this yesterday. The plastic defrost vent cover snaps out. Once removed, you'll see two screws securing the plastic piece that covers the radio, a/c, etc. controls. Once you remove the screws, this plastic piece also snaps out. You can now see two bolts holding in the radio. But on mine, there is also a bracket bolted into the back of the radio (the ground wire is attached to the same bolt). It's a little tight but you can get a wrench on the bolt (mine is 3/8"). Once this is removed, the only thing holding in the radio is the wiring. It's easier if you remove the glove box before any of this. That's the way you can reach behind the radio. This is also where the radio antennae connection is made.

Check box is used to indicated a boolean value: True or False

A group of Radio Buttons is used when you have more choices than True or False... say you have a choice like "Maybe"...

So use a group of Radio button when you have multiple choices and you only want to select one and only one choice. Use a Check box when you have only 2 choices, this or that, and no more.

The center area where all your dials for heat and rear defrost/hazard buttons are just pulls out.. its clipped in around the edges. once you pull that off unplug the wires to the two buttons and set it aside. Then its as easy as unbolting the radio and pulling it out!

Remove the radio from the dash. On the back side of the radio you should find a decal with the serial number on it.
