Amplitude Modulation (AM) and Frequency Modulation (FM)

AM tuning changes the amplification size of the waves being received, FM tuning controls the frequency of the waves being received.

As commercial radio rose from it's early form, the AM 'band' stood for years as the only type of radio available. As technology improved, engineers discovered that they could modulate 2 channels of higher quality sound inside of one carrier frequency. The Federal Communications Commission designated from 87 MHz to 108 MHz for the new FM format. And, with this, FM radio was born.

Enter in the radio code that should be in your owners manual. Use the pre-set radio buttons 1,2,3,4 to enter in the code and then hold the right seek button > for two seconds until you here a beep. While it really doesn"t answer your question- far more interesting is the problem and solution of frequency control of transmitters. there are often a battery of quartz crystals- which do not alter piezo-electric qualities over time- hence the quartz watch ( I"m wearing one right now)- the crystals are used to control the pre-tuned frequency- they are often enclosed in special temperature-controlled chambers called ( ovens)- not cooking appliances- but controlled temperature chambers. clever automatic circuitry keeps the operating temperature constant to within a degree or so ( Fahrenheit) regardless of outside temperature- thus preventing frequency shifts- Sometimes the frequency standard bar is plated with silver or Platinum of high electromotive value. Get old electronics books from Thirties and forties- and well, dig in.

you need the special wire tools...they sort of look like big v-shaped paper clips. You need 2, one on each side of the radio. You may have noticed 2 little holes on each side of the radio's front. The radio removal tool is inserted in the holes, and it attaches to little clips inside. You then pull the radio out. I believe that when you remove the radio, the security system scrambles the radio's code, and it must be re-programed in order for the radio to work. I think your local MB dealer can help you with that...or a local radio shop familiar with MB radios.

when u have the program and looked at the picture u will see that there is solder on thos 10 solder points work out where the solder is ie 3,5,6,7,8 or similar and then enter those number into the program u downloaded and press gen this will give you the code for the radio

The International Telegraph Union assigned out the letters for call signs around 1927. The US was represented by the Army and Navy and so obtained the letters A and N. The K and W were derived by adding a Morse Code dash to A and N to get K and W, for civilian call signs. Canada was assigned C but for amateur radio the call signs begin with V (for Victoria...British Empire) as in VA and VE principally, though VY and CY and VO are also used. The VO in interesting in that it was assigned to Newfoundland when it was a colony of the UK, the call signs were retained after they joined Confederation in 1949. So, unlike the rest of Canada, the Newfie stations call signs still begin with VOCM, VOAR etc as they were in use long before Confederation. The reason I know this is I am attempting to get my amateur radio license, so I have been doing a bit of study!

Nope. But if you have the single CD version of the radio, you can buy an adapter that hooks into the port on the back where the external disk changer would go (search eBay and they are easily found). However, if you have the factory 6-disc CD version, then I think you're out of luck. Though I have seen an owner mod that adds an aux input jack to the front of certain models, but it seems like an expensive proposition if you aren't handy enough to do it yourself. Since I have a ZTS with the 6-disc CD, I'm looking for options other than a FM modulator myself. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions......
