Is there any way to find a car that you used to own?

1) Contact the DMV in the state you last owned the vehicle and run a title or registration search. This costs money. 2) PublicData.com can look up the vehicle by license plate or VIN number. I have found the new owners of several of my old vehicles because I still had the VIN numbers memorized/written down. The license plate search only works in states where the plate stays with the car when sold, like Texas. This costs money also. 3) Contact the dealer you sold it to and they may be able to assist you with contacting the new owners, assuming it hasn't changed hands again. Depending on your dealer, you may have to pay them to run the same title search mentioned in #1. 4) A Carfax report can also help by telling you what state the vehicle is currently registered or titled in, but this also costs money.

Can they charge a 200 dollar repossession fee when the repo man did not get the car?

Can you trade in a car you still owe on for a new car?

What can you do if your car was repossessed and they took the plates then your license was suspended for not returning the plates?

Contact your state DMV and ask them what them requirements are for reinstating your DL. You may have to contact the LENDER to obtain the plates. You have several options you can try to get the plates back from the repo co....if they refuse to give them to you you can go to the police and report the plates as stolen and they will give you a form to take to DMV. Or you can report them as lost to dmv and go from there.Or contact the bank and see if you can get a letter stating they have the plates because in some states the plates stay with the vehicle in a repo. You are going to have to pay a good sized fee to DMV to get your DL reinstated.Good luck!! You can email the National Finance Adjusters and ask them if your state requires the plates to stay with the vehicle or with the debtor. Their email is homeoffice@nfa.org Why involve other organisations to solve a two party problem?? Call your DMV,read your driver handbook, ect. and find out if your state requires the plates to remain with the vehicle. IF it does, then your DL was suspended for another reason that you cant/will never figure out. IF it does not, then the lender needs to return your plates and/or you neeed an attorney.

Do you need a cdl license to buy a truck?

Not necessarily, although you do need the appropriate class licence to actually operate it. You can operate anything up to 26,000 lbs. GVWR on a standard Class C licence. Anything above that, you either need a non-CDL Class B or A licence, or a Class A or B CDL, depending on what type of truck it is specifically, and if its use permits it to fall within any of the exceptions for requiring an actual CDL (registered farm vehicle, etc).

Can a repo man come on a company s private property and repo a car within a gated area?

Vanessa, if the repoman can gain access to the property without commiting a beach of peace, YES. Maybe another employee invited him in,maybe the company let him in, who knows. Did your company promise to protect your car from repo activities? Heck, another might have even driven the car out for him, anything is possible. Good Luck

The first answer should be correct depending on the state you live in. As long as the property is publicly accessible a repossessor can peacefully trespass to recover the collateral.

No its called trespassing and they can and should be prosecuted for it.

Sorry but no this is not trespassing. Once you have passed your pay date with out paying the item is not yours any more. The repo has full right to climb on top of your house and get what they have come for if they needed to. Laws do vary from country to county to town but no place in the united States as of right now has a law that prohibits a repo from getting the item wich he has came to. also as a repo you will have to learn new laws wether they are changed yearly or daily so if you see a repo doing something don't question unless its very obvious he is doing something wrong like killing someone. Repo's are very educated and know what there doing and what not to do.

What can i do to stop that knocking sound coming from your car it happens when i drive or have the car on?

Usually when a car is making a knocking noise it is a very bad thing, which usually leads to engine failure and throwing a rod. I've had this same problem with my intrepid and was able to fix this by replacing a worn bearing on the crank. This is a deep engine job so make sure you keep track of your parts and do it safe and plan to spend 4+ hours on it.

What are the costs of leasing a car?

The following information assumes you're talking about a closed-end lease, the most common type of vehicle lease. With a closed-end lease, you may return the vehicle at the end of the lease term, pay any end-of-lease costs, and walk away. At the beginning of the lease, you may have to pay your first monthly payment; a refundable security deposit or your last monthly payment; other fees for licenses, registration, and title; a capitalized cost reduction (like a down payment); an acquisition fee (also called a processing or assignment fee); freight or destination charges; and state or local taxes. During the lease, you will have to pay your monthly payment; any additional taxes not included in the payment such as sales, use, and personal property taxes; insurance premiums; ongoing maintenance costs; and any fees for late payment. You'll also have to pay for safety and emissions inspections and any traffic tickets. If you end your lease early, you may have to pay substantial early termination charges. At the end of the lease, if you don't buy the vehicle, you may have to pay a disposition fee and charges for excess miles and excess wear. When comparing different car lease offers and negotiating terms, consider: the agreed-upon value of the vehicle -- a lower value can reduce your monthly payment up-front payments, including the capitalized cost reduction the length of the lease the monthly lease payment any end-of-lease fees and charges the mileage allowed and per-mile charges for excess miles the option to purchase either at lease end or earlier whether your lease includes "gap" coverage, which protects you if the vehicle is stolen or totaled in an accident. Ask for alternatives to advertised specials and other lease offerings.

Is it best to title your teen's used car in his name in the parent's name or jointly and why?

Its been advised to me to keep the car in my name, for a few reasons. one ,i would have control if Jr. decides to be stupid. 2 and most important. If your teen is under 18, you are responsible for their actions. Somewhere you gave them a right to drive. In most states you have the right to have their lic. revoked.Basically ,you enabled them a privililage, not a right to drive. Its up to the parent to supervise. Also, you can be liable for damages they cause if ,they live with you and are over 18 and if you co-sign a loan. If you co-sign then by all possibilities the child may not have been able to buy said auto. You signing enables them to buy. Therefore you can become responsible. Lastly. you should have same coverage or better on child's car as again you are the only one with something to sue for

If financing a car can you sell it?

Yes. You are responsible to pay off the loan you have on the car so make sure you sell it for at least that much. You can request a payoff amount from your lender.
