the rover 75 comes with the ftg unit inside the glove box. just unscrew the panel below (2 screws) and you will find the connector that plugs straight in and then feed it into the glove box (which is were your CD multi will be housed) when you get it.

a fairly simple operation, remove n/s wheel and look towards wher the drive shaft goes into the gearbox [diff] . you will see a plug with 2 wires connected to the reverse switch that is screwed in from the rear, un plug the wires. you will need a deep reach 19 mm socet to clear the other part of the plug that is connected to the switch. un screw anti-clockwise and replace with new.hope this helps. the wiesel.

In the fascia fuse box, it is fuse number 20.

Check the cable to see if it is connected if all is well you could possibly need a new one

In Ford's..sometimes the speedometer cable might need lubed as it gets older instead of replacing the whole speedometer. Outside the passenger compartment firewall inside the engine compartment under the hood near the driver's side, you might see where the cable comes out and connects to the cable going to the wheel. A lot of times you can disconnect this connection and drop oil down the cable and that will solve a speedometer which varies while driving.

Hi, your problem is probably dealing with the thermostat which comes as a complete unit, i.e it lies in a sealed plastic holder costing about 25 quid. Had the same problem as you which got the cooling fan running most of the time. These symptoms disappeared as soon as i got the new thermostat fitted. The fitting can be a bit fiddly though. Good luck.

In the wheel arch plastics there are removable inspection panels. Take these out to replace bulbs. Fiddly job.

turn off the car's ignition. Hold down the reset button on the dash board to zero the mileage. keep it held in. turn the car's ignition on - but do not start. keep the button in for 5 seconds. a menu will come up - like date/mileage. let go and then press the button again. it will toggle through some options - then get to 'rst' press the button again, and your done

Under the glove box. There is a drop down panel under the glove box held in place by two slotted retaining clips, twist these until panel drops then you can access fuse box.

Check with your Specification guide - should be 2.4 liters

to reset service counter on rover 75 cdti,under the dashboard,drivers side(rhd) level with bottom of steering wheel you will see a 16 pin socket,find number 8 pin(top row right side of socket,use a thin piece of wire bared at each end,place one end in pin 8 and other end put to earth turn ignition switch to position one for five seconds then turn off.to reset other functions follow same instructions but switch ignition to position two for 20-25 seconds.this works for me no problems.

There are 2.

One in the engine baypassenger side at the front.

The other is inside the car, under the passenger glove compartment, 4 plastic screws need removing then take the panel out to reveal the box.

On the 1.8 (mine is a turbo) there is a bleed screw on the top of the coolant rail at the passenger (left seat) side of the block about half way (memory) before it goes around the back. This is the safest and surest method.

It is possible to do it through the top hose by releasing the clip slowly and carefully and allowing hot coolant to dribble out. Finally you can run the engine with the pressure cap off, and you will see bubbles coming out of the small vent or flow port in the side of the expansion bottle filler neck, which should be just submerged under an overfull coolant level. You can facilitate this by gently squeezing or massaging hoses. This is messy and needs repeating a few times, and be warned the engine will eventually boil over at which point you switch off fairly quickly and then once settled start again; in other words try and catch it before this happens and switch off. Better to do it around a lunch break and several cups of tea on a relaxed Saturday, and do in three or four sessions. You must wear gloves, keep your face away from the loose hose clip or open neck, wear glasses and be careful. The coolant is VERY HOT.
