Where is the ignition switch located on a 1996 Saab 900 se?
Well, on my 1995 SAAB 90SE Turbo Convertible, it was on the floor right in front of the two front seats.
In fact, that's where the key has gone in every SAAB I've ridden in, but I admit most of the ones I've been in were from 60s or 80s...maybe they broke with tradition later on.
How do you reset the alarm for a 1996 Saab 9000 with the key?
Hopefully there is a way...On my '95 Saab 900SE convertible there wasn't. If you set locked the car (and set the alarm automatically at the same time) with the key fob, you HAD to unlock the car using the fob as well! Fortunately I never lost my fob or had its batteries die between when I had locked the car and when I had unlocked it with the fob, but on occasion I would have the audacity to unlock the car with the key and then get to hear that yes, the alarm was still functioning.
Due to this it's advisable (IMHO) to either forget about using the remote fob at all, OR always make sure you had at least two of them programmed and working ok.
If you only have one working programmed fob, you can buy a second (eBay is a good place to look) and then pay about $50 for a dealer to activate the programming of the 2nd fob to your car. BUT, if you lose or break all the fobs, in order to get new fobs programmed they also have to replace the computer module that they work with...over a $1000 expense!
Hopefully since your 9000 is newer than my 900 was, you won't be in the same situation. This is one (of many) issues with the 95 Saab that lead me to sell it during one of those moments that everything was working well. I liked the car overall, but there was always something lurking waiting to take a $1000 or more out of my wallet to resolve. bummer.
good luck.
Where is a 1999 Saab 9-3 blower motor resistor located?
It is located on the fan shroud. Look on the side by the battery, go to the fan shroud and look for a small brass cylander. That's it. It should have two or three wires coming out of it. Two wires go to the fan and the single one goes to the switch. This controls your fan speed(two speeds for Saab). Not aware of any after market sellers so you need to go to SAAB dealer for it.

How much should you pay to get brake pads replaced on a 2006 Saab 93?
The dealer estimated $600 for a front brake job on my 95 900 SE Turbo Convertible, saying the SAAB rotors cannot be turned (machined smooth) safely, so this would have included new front rotors & pads. I went to Kragen and got everything I needed for much less, I think around $200 total, and did it myself. 2 years later, still stopping!
Should new front brakes and rotors cost 565 dollars for a 2003 Saab 9 5?
Well, this is not really an answer, but a perspective. I recently paid over $1000 for new front pads, rotors, calipers and labor for an '85 900 Turbo. This was from an independent mechanic. So, $565 doesn't sound that far off for a 9-5.
Can a car dealership be sued for selling a car without a working headlight?
No, because when you buy a car you should turn the lights on to be sure they all work. Lack of due diligence on your part is not their fault.
Also consider: fixing a Saab headlight costs less than 20 dollars--just change the bulb, and they sell them at all auto parts stores, Walmarts and Targets in America. Even if you got a traffic ticket for having a burned-out headlight (and most cops will give you a warning ticket for this--fix the headlight, show it to a cop and you'll be clear) you won't recover enough from the dealership to pay off the costs of filing the suit.
Where is the hood release in a 1996 Saab?
Under the dashboard on the driver's side is a pull handle that partly opens the catch on the hood and then you have to open the catch located midway along under the hood edge by squeezing it and pulling it upwards. Why is my 1995 Saab 900se turbo popping out of 3rd gear at high rpm?
It might be a worn/broken motor mount.
Yes and no. From 1989 till 2010 Saab was owned by GM so the NG 900 used the a GM platform and the GM V6 engine, the Second generation of 9-3 was also used GM engines. The 9-5 also is based on GM cars but Saab has been sold to Spyker now so the new 9-5 wagon will be the last Saab developed under GM with the replacement for the 9-3 in 2012 being the first independently developed Saab in about 25 years.
