How do you take a front wheel drive transmission out?
The engine and transmission have to come out together from the top and then separated once they are out of the engine bay.
You don't have to remove the engine to remove the transmission. You can support the engine with a support bar and drop the transmission through the wheel well by lowering the engine cradle. It is much easier this way and i have seen it done numerous times.

Location of air conditioner in a Saturn SL?
The AC compressor on a Saturn (S-Series) is pretty much the highest device that is driven by the serpentine belt.
It's on the passenger side, near the front of the engine compartment. There are two large pressure hoses that are attached to it.
How do you replace the alternator on a Saturn?
IF you remove the right front tire and guard this will give you easy access to your alternator. You will need to jack your car up. It sits underneath the engine to the right of the starter. If you locate the oil filter you'll see it right in front of you. Just disconnect your battery and then the plasitc guard on the alternator held on by a single bolt. Then disconnect all wires. Next, Unscrew the two bolts that runn across the bottom. Put a 14mm on the tensioner to put some slack in the serpentine belt and pull the 14mm wrench. Take the belt from around the alternator and then remove the bolt on the top right of the alternator. that one in particular is a little hard to get to, but take your time and good luck. If you are still having trouble then get the Haynes Repair manual for the Saturn S-series 1991-2002. You can find them at any auto perts store and they are great to have!
I am answering my own question. After removing the bolts, pull up on the metal plug covers that hold down the wire ends on the coil pack.
How do you replace a radiator in 1996 Sl2 Saturn how difficult is this?
i had to do this a few days ago all u really have to do is first drain the coolant, then move the intake out of the way , there are three screws hold it down.after that there is a hose that was kinda under the intake you need to remove that so you can get the cooling fan out once you have that done you have to remove the cooling fan there is a screw on the right side of it the rest of the cooling fan just pops out(DO NOT REMOVE THE HOSES that may get in the way of removing the cooling fan those are to ur ac so un less u don't want that to work the don't do it). then u need to get under and remove the plastic covers that protect the radiator there are some scerw behind the radiator u need to remove these cause they stupidly attached the ac cooler thing to the radiator . after u remove thos u should be fine. there are also some screws and up at the top of the radator that keep it from move around after u remove those and the last hose that's connects to the radiator it should just pull out. after that u just put the new one in and put every thing back.
Where on a 1997 Saturn SL1 is the transmission fluid temperature sensor?
It's right next to the transmission oil filter. It has a two-wire connector plugged into it. NOTE: if you have a manual transmission, there is no trans fluid temperature sensor.

How much to replace a 2002 Saturn head gasket?
this question can vary with repair shop pricing, the prices i will list here are average markup/labor dollars. looks like autozone has the entire head gasket kit for about 220. most repair shops have accounts with venders, they can probably get this set for around 160-180. they usually charge the customer double what they get it for so figure 320$ on the highside for the head gasket kit. according to the Mitchell Labor Guide (The bible of a repair shop) the time alloted to the mechanic is 10.8 hours. If the vehicle is equipped with A/C, add an additional 1.1 hours. so you are looking at 11.9 labor hours. average labor dollar per hour is around $75. sor your labor will run you $892 on top of your gasket set. figure your at just over 1200. now add Engine oil and Coolant, most places will include this, but don't count on it. Now there are things to think about while doing a head gasket on a Saturn. are you close to 100K miles? or will you be in the next year or two? Saturn timing chains should be done at around 100k. the book or service manual doesnt mention this, but ask anyone who works on saturns... they will all tell you this needs to be done if you plan on keeping your vehicle running for the time you own it. The repair shop will probably try and talk you into replacing it..... it has to come off in order to do the head gasket anyways.
How do you reset the change oil light on a 1997 Saturn SL2?
97 SL2 does not have a change oil light. Only the red oil indicator which means you have a serious problem
Why is a 1994 Saturn using oil?
Burning oil? Failed cylinder seals. More then three quarts a month, ditch the car. One quart or less isn't too bad. In that case you will need to keep an eye on the EGR valve nad possibly the O2 sensor (if your 94 has one) past the exhaust manifold. What's happening is that oil is entering the combustion chamber and ignighting with the fuel air mixture. The result is exhaust gas much more laden with soot. This soot can wear down spark plugs faster and thus the coil packs faster too. This soot covers everything and fouls up the EGR. If your engine decides to rev up on its own, a good bet your EGR has failed. Bottom line, less than a quart a month, remove the EGR every six weeks and soak the bottom in carb cleaner. Change spark plugs every six months. Autolites are cheap at wal-mart. The body on your Saturn is probably perfect, but a 16 year old Saturn motor isn't worth replacing the seals on.
How much can you get for your Saturn at a junk yard?
Salvage yards give cash depending on popularity of the vehicle availability of parts, and condition, I would not expect more than $500 if it still runs.
Where to you find the VIN on a motor of a 2000 Saturn sl2?
It might be hard to see. It is located by where the ignition coil pack mounts. The trans VIN and engine vin are ajacent to each other. I think is the last 8 or nine of the VIN. If it says RDOT, it is a replacement engine.

How do you repair 94 Saturn sl2 odometer?
This was an unfortunately common issue for these odometers. There is a rather easy to follow walkthrough available at:
http://www.odometergears.com/SaturnGearRepair.html
That same site also sells the gears necessary for the repairs, though I've never needed to replace the larger one.
I did not remove the original answer in case there are some out there that are less mechanically minded.
~
There's a place in Pennsylvania that rebuilds them. They only do Saturn S-Series, so they know what they're doing. You have to take your cluster out of the car and send it to them, they fix the odometer, send it back, and you re-install it in your car. Much better than getting a junkyard unit, because most of them are already no good, or ready to fail shortly. Costs around $200 + shipping, and well worth it. Their phone # is (717) 665-2937. hope this helps

How do you fix a belt tensioner for 1997 Saturn SL1?
there is no fixing the tensioner. It needs to be replaced. it is not difficult to do. use a belt tool to release the belt. Remember to have a drawing of the belt pattern before you remove it. in most cases it will not have to be removed unless you are replacing the belt as well. There sould be one bolt that holds it in place. loosen the bolt and remove. If you lhave a digital camera tthis is a good time to use it. pictures make it easy to put things back on. Most parts stores will either have the part or can get it for you. it is also possible to find them at salvage yards. hope it helps. duboff Actually you need a 14 mm wrench to remove the belt. The tensiner is held on with 2- 10mm bolts one at the top and one you need to access from the side Remove the drivers wheel and the engine shield to acces it Thye top one is much easier if you remove the engine mount and support the oil pan
