Why do teenagers prefer action science fiction films?

I think that we teenagers like lots of sci-fi things because they can open up our imaginations to possibilites that are endless. Alot of sci-fi things out there have alot of adventure in them. And, I don't know about you, but things that have adventure involved always gets me excited. So that could be one reason. but, to tell the truth, I think it really depends on the person. We all have different reasons for liking what we like. Maybe we like the plot, or the idea of hundreds of alien worlds. Or maybe the movies or books or shows, or just the ideas themselves appeal to us. So ask yourself exactly why you like sci-fi. You probably will know right off why you prefer sc-fi. But to answer for others is harder. I can only say that maybe teens prefer sci-fi beause it's just what they like. Some teens prefer horror. Some action. It's a matter of the viewer. I hope that my answer has helped you see some possible reason why some prefer sci-fi. If not, then ask the people you know why they prefer what they do. It's all about opinion.

What is the answer to the meaning of life the universe and everything?

Introduction to the Answers:

This Question was first posted under both Philosophy and Science Fiction. Therefore, the following Answers will relate to those two general areas.

  • Science Fiction:
42.

Discussion of the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything appeared in Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series of books. According to the super computer Deep Thought, the answer is "42". The problem was that no one knew what the question was. According to the book, another computer was created to discover the question, that computer being the planet Earth.

In the sequel, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, it is discovered that the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything (possibly slightly distorted) is: "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?"

While 6 x 9 = 54 in base 10, it does equal 42 in base 13, which author Adams claimed was completely serendipitous.

Previously, the designers of the computers had given up, and settled for the question "How many roads must a man walk down?" (from Bob Dylan's Blowin in the Wind)

  • Philosophy/Religion:
On a less frivolous note than the above answer, the philosophy of Judaism is that this world is a purposeful creation by God, in which all people are tested concerning their use of free-will. We possess a soul which lives on after the body dies and is held responsible for the person's actions. Anyone who is worthy can merit reward in the afterlife.
Also:

1. God exists, and is the Creator.
This tells us that the world is not chaotic or the result of chance. Life is the work of a deliberate, purposeful, intelligent and kind Creator; not a melancholy chaos or a string of fortuitous accidents. God is at the center of reality and the center of our world-outlook and thoughts.
2. God is eternal.
This includes the belief that God's ways are also eternal. God is not capricious, forgetful or fickle.
God is just (Deuteronomy 32:4); and all outstanding accounts are settled after this life.

Are alchemists real?

Alchemists study and practice Alchemy which is considered a protoscience. While Alchemists are real people with a real purpose, the field they practice has not been proven real, as yet, by scientific protocol.

Using a loose definition, you could call chemists modern alchemists. But there were real alchemists who's main goal was to change one substance into another, usually this a cheap metal, like lead, into gold. Though the methods were primitive, the concepts are considered important work towards modern chemistry.

How many episodes are there in the vampire diaries season 1?

"On some places it says 14 but almost everywhere else it is saying 10 so go with 10"

Well they've already aired episode 14, so the answer of 10 episodes is clearly incorrect. A quick look at Wikipedia tells us the definitive answer:

The Vampire Diaries is an American supernatural-fantasy horror television series developed by Kevin Williamson, based on the book series of the same name by L. J. Smith. The series follows the life of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who falls in love with vampire brothers Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). The series also focuses on the lives of Elena's friends and other inhabitants of the fictional town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. The series is a mix of teen drama and the supernatural.

When The Vampire Diaries premiered on The CW Television Network on September 10, 2009, it attracted the largest audience of any series since the network began in 2006.[1]

Due to strong ratings, the series was given a full, 22-episode first season on October 21, 2009.[2] The show's first season finale will air on May 13, 2010.[3]

On February 16, 2010, The CW announced it had renewed the show for a second season.[4]

Why did Dr. Jekyll is intelligent?

Sherlock Holmes is so intelligent because he uses his brilliant powers of deducation. He simply notices certain things about certain scenes or peoples, and he uses those gathered facts to deduce the answer or solution he might be looking for.

This isnt saying he doesn't have any prior knowlege of the world, he is still a wonderfully educated being. What makes him special is that he has a keen eye to match his equally as keen intuition.

Of course by this logic, every on of us could be the next Sherlock Holmes, all we have to do is not look but noticeour surroundings (or of couse become a fictional character).
