How do you cure a pimple or acne without buying medication?

In my opinion it has nothing to do with chocolate, sex, etc. There are many medications now for the treatment of acne, they are available from your family doctor of dermatologist. Topical antibioitcs is often the first choice, systemic antibiotics (Tetracycline or Vibramycin) are most commonly used, topical retinoic acid also works(signicant redness and irritation initially are common), of you are female certain oral contraceptives show dramatic improvement (specifically Ortho Tri Cyclen or the generic equivalent is often my first choice in women with no contraindications to birth control pills. There are few side effects, unlike many of the other options and the results are usually significant improvement. Sometimes more than one drug must be used in severe cases. The other option is Accutane, it dries the oil glands in your skin, but has a list of side effects a mile long, including serious birth defects. Many people notice improvement with use of tanning beds, this also dries the skin, but cannot be used with certain antibiotics and other medications.

Some recommendations: Proactiv is a relatively new over the counter medication, some people report success with its use. Proactiv, I use it and it has done wonders for me not only does it clear up your acne it makes your skin soft and moisturized also. It is relatively cheap and very worth it. Other than that I suggest washing your face regularly with a hot, wet towel and then after the hot towel use a someone cool, wet towel on your face because this closes the pours and helps to keep dirt from getting inside.

Zenmed's Body Acne Combo Kit which is a botanical treatment which is specifically meant for clearing body acne. The kit contains two products, a botanical mask and a botanical acne wash. The mask is applied on the affected region before a shower and in the shower the mask is washed off with the acne wash and water. One to two weeks of using this treatment will see the back clear of any signs of acne. Remember to have a shower if you sweat too much as sweat can clog the pores and make your acne worse.

Remedies For Acne on Your Back: If you are sweating a lot, wash back more often. Also, if your conditioner is really oily, it might increase the 'bacne'...try using a foam conditioner or washing your back after you condition your hair.

Another Suggestion: If "Proactive" can work on your face there is no reason it can't work on your back. My girlfriend had a terrible outbreak of acne on her face for the very first time (in pre menopause) and she tried everything. She finally tried Proactive and it's working.

Take oatmeal baths, and apply apple cider vinegar to bacne about twice a day to get rid of it.

When taking a shower, don't scrub too hard. put any kind of toothpaste over the area. i have tried it and it feels good. I don't know if the toothpaste does anything because i tried it today and i haven't looked at my back since then.

Some people try a tanning bed (but there may be a risk of skin cancer).

Research findings now show that diet is the deepest "cure" for acne. To learn more about this, and what foods you should avoid, see the page link, further down this page, listed under Related Questions.

How do you get rid of sunburn blisters?

OK so there's so many different ways to treat sun blisters without going to the doctor. First, you should remember beforehand to always put sun screen on. If you do have sunburn, it should really hurt and itch:

  1. Put on fresh aloe vera juice to soothe the pain.
  2. Put some apple cider vinegar on it.
  3. Compress your burn in COOL water (do not compress it in cold water).
  4. Mix one teaspoon of buttermilk with two teaspoons of tomato juice, put it on and don't touch it for half a hour.
  5. Mix some honey and vinegar and put it on the burn.
  6. Put on some yogurt and turmeric and mix it until it's a thick paste, then apply it on (do not rub). Keep it on for 15-20 minutes, then wash it off with cool water.
  7. Apply any moisturizing cream (non oil type).
  8. Apply a nonstick sterile gauge pad.
  9. Take a pain reliever.
I hope this helps!!!

Can nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream help athlete feet?

I was prescribed triamcinolone acetonide to use WITH an over the counter anti fungal cream (like clotrimazole) to cure my athlete's foot. I was getting severe, scarring fungal infections that the anti fungal creams would not cure. The Triamcinolone stops the itching and burning, as well as the swelling which allowed the anti fungal cream to work much more effectively and quicker.

How do you get relief from sunburn?

== == You need to go to the drugstore and get some sunburn lotion (NOT SUNTAN LOTION) preferably something with Aloe in it and a topical anasthetic to dull the pain more or less on contact. Ask the pharmacist what they carry; they probably have 2 or 3 types, but you need one with the anasthetic like Lidocaine or Benzocaine. Because the burn has dried out the skin, keep slathering it on to get the moisture back in. ANd drink water a lot too. To prevent the sunbun from getting worse DO NOT take warm baths or showers, DO NOT go into the sun and DO NOT scratch the skin or agrivate it, this might relieve the itchiness at that exact time, but it will only worsen the case! boil some hot tea and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes and apply the tea to the affected area and then your sunburn should feel better.

What could explain small itchy bumps that appear on the skin after scratching?

Irriation from your razor, it could be time for a new one, or better shaving cream, also you could be shaving too much.

Can Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment be used on dogs?

Nystatin and Triamcinolone OintmentNot sure about the triamcinolone stuff, but the Nystatin can come in different forms. I have used both the liquid which was for my daughters thrush when she was an infant and the ointment which is for yeast infection which I used for my other daughters diaper rash. I don't think these products are just for little ones exclusively.

Additional Info: This is an anti-fungal and steriod ointment. My ENT doctor prescribed this cream (Nystatin & Triamcinolone Acetonide cream) for my ear aches. I would get VERY painful ear aches, with swelling and tenderness accompanying the pain. Along with the pain was also some discharge of fluid sometimes. I would get these earaches quite alot, sometimes 4 times a year or more. I was not a swimmer, I was never submerged underwater, so I do not know what caused these ear problems. But my ENT doctor gave me this cream, told me to put it on a Q-tip and gently and carefully put it into my ear canal, and it worked great. It cleared up my earache quickly--no more pain, swelling, or tenderness. After the ear cleared up, the ENT doc told me to do a daily routine of alcohol + white vinegar mixture in both my ears daily. He recommended a mixture ratio of isopropyl alcohol to white vinegar of about 50:1 (the doc told me to use the 91% iso. alcohol, but I am sure you can use the lower percentages too). So in a small bottle (I use a ten ounce bottle) I just put a few drops of white vinegar (no more than a capful) and mix it with the alcohol, shake it up, and you have your solution to use daily to maintain a clean healthy ear canal. Please check with your own doctor before you use this type of solution on your own.

I have also found out that this Nystatin ointment is used for yeast infections and to treat for Cutaneous candidiasis. This was from drugs.com, here is the link:

http://www.drugs.com/ppa/nystatin-triamcinolone-acetonide.HTML

The combination of Nystatin plus the Triamcinolone seems to work better together than Nystatin alone, especially for dermatological treatments.

Interesting note: according to the above link, the Nystatin ointment is not recommeded for otic (ear) use. I guess my doctor (he is an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist) knows more than the people at drugs.com. However, I would not recommend that anybody use this stuff in their ear unless they go to their own ENT doctor to find out what the ENT specialist says.

Does peroxide get rid of pimples?

No, peroxide doesn't get rid of acne. Over time, it will make the pores too dry and prevent healing.

Washing your face with a gentle soap (not a scrub!) and without a washcloth will help. The important thing is to rinse your face thoroughly. Aloe gel will help it heal and dry up. Finally, be sure to change your pillow slip often and keep your hair clean.

What causes your hand to turn black?

Most likely an infection or a lack of circulation. If your hand has turned black, you are probably too late but should IMMEDIATELY seek medical attention, LIKE NOW!

If the hand is lost, the gang green that will follow could easily set up sepsis in the body and kill you.

Silver and or gold, because they are so soft, being rubbed on one's hands and since their fine powder is black - they blacken hands

How do you get rid of large blackheads?

if its really big get a needle (this will not hurt at all if done right) sanitize it in alcohol, wash your with mild soap and hot not warm but hot water, take the needle and poke at it a little to remove the first layer of dirt, then get a zit popper or paperclip and put alcohol on it, then press it around the blackhead to remove inner dirt, also you can use you hands. just wash your hand very well with hot water and mild soap, then lightly press you nails around it to remove the oil/dirt. after this rewash face with GENTLE soap and HOT water, then put a thin layer of Neosporin to prevent more dirt from getting in. trust me this works.

What does it mean if your sunburn turns black?

It could mean that the flesh has died, skin usually turns black when there is a death in the tissue and may be a breeding ground for some bacteria and infection. But if it doesn't hurt, then it could just be a discolouration, either way you should get it checked by a health professional who can examine it physically.

How long does it take for an allergic reaction like hives to go away?

Allergic reactions to Meds are tricky. Obviously its best to consult a Physician ASAP for their opinion. My daughter had a reaction to ammoxicilin and it took a few days for the swelling and rash to go away. The medicine stays in your system longer then you realize. Some people need steroids to reduce swelling and an antihistamine like Benydryl. Its safe to say that you need to give it a few days for the fluid of the swelling to go away and back to normal. Keep antihistamines in your purse (or if a guy, in your pocket or vehicle at all times.) Benadryl is the best and for adults two caps (25 mgs. each) are what you should take. It takes only 10 to 15 minutes for the swelling to go down, but if you've left it for a long time it may take longer. DO NOT DRIVE A VEHICLE OR MACHINERY WHILE TAKING ANTIHISTIMINES. Benadryl is given in hospitals (I know because I had a reaction to a medication) and is harmless to you. It will probably make you sleepy.

How do you get rid of bumps on face?

Can duck tape cure warts?

Yes, you must put duct tape on the wart, leave it there for about a week, and on the last day you either use a nail file or emery board and then put chalk on it, to dry it out. then leave the duct tape off for the rest of the day and just keep the cycle going until your wart problem has disappeared, and DON'T USE BANDAGES! they keep your wart moised and it will be harder to get off.

Are warts bad?

Yes. When you rip it off it is going to bleed. This blood will contain the wart virus and you may spread it elsewhere. Also it is going to grow back. Warts have a very deep root structure. You need to see a doctor to have it frozen or zapped.

The above is not 100% true. First, warts to not actually have 'roots' - rather, they grow via blood vessel, hence the reason why they bleed so badly when you rip them out. I have ripped warts out of my foot, and they never came back. Also, I have seen a doctor regarding my wart problems (all over my hands) and he told me to keep doing what I am doing (trying every method in the book, including wasting my money on Dr Scholl's and using apple cider vinegar) He told me that every time I do a 'treatment' of any kind, I am killing more of the wart. So no, you do not HAVE to see a doctor.

How long does the scorpion weed rash last?

Well...it's been a full week and my legs, from ankles to knees, still look like they've been dipped into hot oil!!!  At least the dripping - ooozing has stopped and the scabbing can begin.  Get aloe vera juice in a bottle from the health store. Refrigerate it so it is very cold. Then apply to your face or wherever the rash occurs. Apply as often as needed. The juice cools the itchyness and helps dry out the rash. It takes me a week to get rid of the rash. Also take an alleergy tablet. The antihistamine helps keep it in check.

How do you get a common wart of your toe?

As a result of the various different types of warts, there are a number of different wart removal treatments. Your dermatologist will analyze the wart(s) to determine which wart removal method is best. In young children, doctors may want to wait a bit and see if they disappear on their own. Wart removal treatments can take place through a medical professional, prescribed from a dermatologist, or through store-bought remedies.

Professional treatment from a dermatologist is the most effective means of wart removal. Dermatologists may use a method called cryotherapy, in which he or she applies liquid nitrogen directly to the wart between two or four times over the span of one to three weeks, until the wart is removed. Dermatologists can also use another method that applies cantharidin to the wart. Cantharadin is a chemical that dermatologists apply through a bandage, which must be worn for 24 hours. The doctor will then remove the bandage and the dead skin of the wart. There are also laser therapy treatments to remove warts from the skin.

Victims of warts can also receive prescription wart removal remedies that are self-administered at home. Salicylic acid can treat warts on the hands, feet or knees. Patients apply the acid directly to the wart for several weeks until the wart is removed. A prescribed silver nitrate pencil is another over-the-counter option for wart removal.

Regardless of whether you seek professional wart removal treatment or self-administered remedies, discuss your warts with a dermatologist to ensure the remedy you prefer is the best for your specific wart(s).

What to put on a rash around the tattoo?

Firstly you should rule out eczema. I have eczema like rashes that seem to ONLY fill in my tattoo area...Doctors have told me it is not related to the tattoo, however, I have read about people being allergic to types of ink. You will more than likely have a difficult time getting answers as tattoo shops will not provide info (or limited) and doctors seem to be less versed on these issues but do ask.

Try Tea Tree Oil. You can get this at any health food store, Walgreen's, and generally pharmacies will carry this also. It's 100% natural and has been used for generations to sooth and remedy rashes of all sorts. I also used the soap as well, although I'm not sure what good the soap did. Also, MOISTURIZE with no scents or fragrances and preferably hypoallergenic.

Hope this helps. I am not in the medical field but I came across this issue and this is what I know.
