How do you cook chili con carne from frozen?

You can thaw frozen chili con carne as well as other soups and stews by placing it frozen in a saucepan. Add enough water to just cover the bottom of the pan and turn the burner on low. Stir it around occasionally and turn it, to help it thaw all around. Once it has thawed, turn your burner up a bit and stir while it's heating. You can also thaw it in the microwave in a covered microwave-safe dish.

Another answer would be it depends on the type of soup , and what constitutes a meal. Some hospital patients can't eat solid foods , so a consomme( clear brothy soup) is eaten this provides some nutrients, most if the consomme is made with meat and vegetables , or what a doctor would prescribe as far as food allergies go. But many people around the world eat some kind of soup as a meal. made with nutritious ingredients , can satisfy almost all of ones requirements for a healthy meal. One example would be beef barley soup, made with vegetables , tomatoes, barley and beef, is about as close to a well rounded meal as you can get.

What meat is traditionally used in Irish Stews?

Lamb and potatoes are two of the staples. Of course the potato is the number one answer, but surprisingly enough (I'm half Irish) there are more foods from long ago right up to modern healthy eating in Ireland. Wild garlic, cabbage or curly kale and scallions. Irish Stew is at the top of the list always with potatoes; bacon, boiled pork sausage. In the more modern times fish is more often eaten such as prawns, oysters, salmon and cod, etc., Soda, wheaten breads and soda farls and blaa. Honey was always used. Of course the most famous meat was lamb, but also pork and beef as generations passed by. Porridge was made from nuts, berries, knotgrass and goosefoot in the earlier years. Dairy products such as milk and eggs and churned butter.

How do you cook menudo soup?

1 Package 16 oz Fideo Pasta (Sold in the Ethnic isle)

4 Medium size tomatoes

3/4 cup of chopped onion

3 garlic cloves

1/4 cup of chicken bouillon

4 cups of water or chicken stock

4 tbs of vegetable oil

First step is to make the sauce for the fideo. Blend the tomatoes, 2 cloves of garlic and 1/4 of onion with two cups of water for a minute on medium speed and set it aside.

In a 4 quart pan turn the stove on medium temperature and pour the oil into the pan wait until the oil is hot and add 1/2 cup of the chopped onion. Cook the onion until translucent than add one garlic clove (chopped). Immediately add the fideo and start to brown it. Do not step away from the stove or stop stirring the fideo, since it will burn very easy. Once the fideo is browned add the sauce and the four cups of water. Let it come to a boil than add the 1/4 of chicken bouillon at this point cover the skillet and let it simmer for 15 minutes until the fideo is tender. If you do not want to make the tomato sauce, you may use one can of an 8 oz plain tomato sauce. You will need a total of 6 cups of water or chicken stock. You may serve the fideo with cheese or sour cream on the top and warm corn or flour tortillas on the side. On a side note, I like to add two raw eggs on the fideo right before it starts cooking for 15 minutes. The eggs cook and I have a meal with protein.

Can I cook an open can of soup on a stove?

As to the physics, it's possible to heat a can directly on a burner, but IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED! Grab a pan and put some water in it, then put the can in. Heat it with the water a la Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. Burning the contents of a can when heating it directly on a burner is something that can be done with ridiculous ease. And, as stated, heating the can directly can cause an explosion. Enough said. Be smart about this one. The mess it may make is nothing compared to the injury it may cause. Use that big cerebral cortex to think this one through. Bon appétit!
