Can you receive unemployment in Illinois while receiving military retirement pay?

I seriously doubt it... military income is deductable from Alabama state unemployment, and with AL's unemployment as low as it is ($265/week max), any retired military pay will most likely be more and therefore disqualify the retired service member. (Just got my denial letter yesterday.) Which is crap, as I've paid into AL's system for over 20 years & won't be able to use it, now when it would be helpful.

Sincerely,

Estimated workmen's compensation payout for injured index finger in IL?

I actually asked this question because I was getting frustrated with trying to find the answer to help my husband. However, of course I found the answer after asking the question!

I found real help answering my question on the following website: http://www.workerscompensationinsurance.com, the answer provided by: Bob Bollinger, Attorney at Law and Board Certified Specialist in NC Workers' Compensation Law, Charlotte, NC

However, since I have done extensive research about this on many websites I am also adding this other information in the hopes of helping anyone in a similar situation. If you live in IL, this website is very helpful:http://www.woodrufflawyers.com/CM/WorkersCompensation/Guide-To-Workers-Compensation-In-Illinois.asp

I found looking for information on websites set up by lawfirms that deal with workmen's compensation issues very helpful.

The workmen's comp. settlement will depend on the impairment rating given to the, in this case, index finger by the doctor when you are released from his/her care. I know from experience that the doctor may not tell you, so in this case you need to find this out from the insurance company that covers your work injuries. In IL, it varies slightly in certain states, an index finger is worth 40 weeks of benefits if it is permanently partially disabled, as is the case with my husband, and he received a 5% impairment rating. It is important to note that there are several types of Permanent Partial Disability and that total loss of use of an index finger is worth 46 weeks.

Concerning Weekly Benefits: You are entitled to 66 2/3% percent of your average weekly wage during any period of time you are unable to work because of the injury. This payment is tax-free and is based on the average weekly earnings during the 52 weeks prior to the injury.

So, to calculate his particular settlement, I first calculated 5% of 40 weeks (5*.40)=2. My husband's weekly wage was $560, so 560*.66(2/3)=246.40. He was gone 7 work days, so 246.4/5=$49.28/workday, so 246.4+98.56(49.28*2)=$344.96 and then you take 344.96*2=$689.92

Additionally, employees are entitled to compensation for disfigurement (scarring).

HOWEVER, Fresno Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Hamilton ruled that AB 962, the hotly contested statute that would have banned mail order ammunition sales and required all purchases of so-called "handgun ammunition" to be registered, was unconstitutionally vague on its face on 1/18/11

The trial Court enjoined enforcement of the statute, so mail order ammunition sales to California can continue unabated, and ammunition sales need not be registered under the law.

Can convicted felon marry felon on probation?

Provided you were both in the relationship before your conditional releases, then it is possible, if you first obtain the permission of both the parole and probation officers. If this is a relationship that developed after either of you were put on supervised release, it is more likely than either or both of you could be violated and returned to incarceration for having contact with another convicted felon.

Yes. Any type of action or communication that is unwelcome and is so serious that it causes what is called a "hostile work environment" falls under the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations regarding harassment. One e-mail is most likely not going to amount to actionable harassment, although there has been a case where only one instance of conduct did.

What is the maxium time or sentence that is given for 2nd degree murder?

Your question of "What is the minimum sentence for murder?" leaves a lot of unanswered details. Murder involves one person involved in the death of another. The first question to be asked is, "What type of murder?" Murder varies from self defense, to involuntary manslaughter, to voluntary manslaughter, to second degree murder, to first degree murder. Generally, there is no sentence if the jury decides it was self defense. First degree murder involves premeditated murder, murder of a law officer, or murder committed during a felony. The first thing the jury decides is guilt or innocence or self defense. Then the jury decides what kind of murder. In this state the minimums for the amount of prison time are 0 for involuntary manslaughter, 0 for voluntary manslaughter, 10 for second degree murder, and 25 for first degree murder. That does not include time spent under court ordered supervision.

Are handguns legal to own in Massachusetts?

Since Massachusetts has such strict gun control laws, I'm surprised that a handgun is still legal and that one isn't forced to use peashooters instead. With a class B or A

LTC (License to carry,) it is legal to own a handgun in Massachusetts. To get one, you have to be 21, a legal resident of Massachusetts, have proof of residency, and you must be aware of the safety required for shooting a handgun. You also must take a written test and have a shooting test, and if you get a certain score, then you have a chance of getting an LTC. They take a picture, fingerprints, and other information that could be used to identify you if you pass the shooting test and the written exam. The last step is that they do is a background check, because they can refuse to give you the LTC if you are a felon or if you are deemed to be insane, suicidal, or a psychopath. There is also a fee to get any firearms license in Massachusetts. Another thing to note is if it is high capacity (i.e. holding more than 10 rounds in total and semiautomatic or fully automatic), then it requires a class A LTC. Also, if you plan on having a handgun, there is a rule that you must store the ammunition and the handgun separate from each other, because if someone manages to get the box that contained the gun and the ammo, then they are armed and dangerous. You must also have a trigger lock on it at all times when not in use. Some other advice is that if you have a handgun, don't try to defend your house with it. Self defense pleas rarely work during a trial, and they will probably take away your LTC and handguns. For more information about how to get an LTC and how to get a safety course to get an LTC, look at the Mass Wildlife website. You also need a class A LTC in order to carry your gun loaded in public, but this is usually only given to law enforcement. It is extremely hard to get a class A LTC in Massachusetts, because we are very strict about gun laws.

Why is it illegal to sell used matresses?

Probably because some people complained and the government does not want to deal with it. The government shouldn't tell you what or what not to sell this dips into your freedom act in the constitution. So it is illegal.

If one pleads guilty with adjudication withheld it is "defined" as a conviction to calculate "sentence points." That law is speaking only in terms of sentencing points ONLY. Voting rights, handgun rights, and the like remain intact.

ability to own a firearm requires waiting 3yrs after all terms fo the sentence have been satisfied. I'm in the same situation and have been doing a great amount of research, including talking to the FDLE about this particular matter.

Is there a time frame in which extradition must take place?

Here's how it works: If you are picked up on warrants and held as a fugitive the apprehending state notifies the state that wants you. If that state still wants you they initiate action to secure a Governor's Warrant (more commonly known as a warrant of extradition. THEN - the legal process between the two states begins, to arrange your release from the apprehending state and them turning you over to the custody of the 'wanting' state. If the state that put the warrant out on you no longer desires you back, they will notify the apprehending state and they will release you, unless you are wanted for some separate offense that occurred in their state. All this takes time, longer if the extradition is being "fought' by the fugitive. I don't know where the questioner gets the idea that there is some type of timeframe for extradition. As far as I'm aware there are no statutory timeframes for the process of extradition. As long as the legal process between the two states has begun and is progressing, then it takes as long as it takes. Believe me, the apprehending state doesn't want you clogging up their jail any more than you want to be there. If the wanting state doesn't want you, the apprehending state is going to toss you out on the street ASAP. The lesson to be learned from this? When there is a warrant out for you turn yourself in and then you won't be spending weeks in someone else's jail.

If you just graduated from college can you collect unemployment?
