I would not recommend taking either recreationally. But the answer is no. Taking Strattera will most definetly not give you the same high as taking Adderall would. It would make you more alert and focused however. But it certainly wouldn't give you a buzz or anything like that.

I really hope that you would find other ways to occupy your time than taking stimulants such as Adderall. Adderall is very addictive and has a high rate of dependence, I know because I was prescribed this stuff for 8 years and just stopped taking it, and the withdrawal symptoms are very severe (psychosis, paranoia, panic/anxiety attacks, extreme exhaustion and hunger, and migraines)

Now I can't tell you what to do or not do with your life but out of all the drugs you could do for a cheap high amphetamines are one of the dumbest to use. They are a Schedule ll drug on the Controlled Substance Act which make them one of the highest potential for abuse, and addictiton. The only difference from Schedule 1 and 2 is that Schedule 2 lists drugs that are actually used for medical purposes. Although I strongly disagree with the use of amphetamines as a treatment for ADHD.

I started on 40mg for a week then took two pills after five days putting me up to 80 mg a day. Yikes, I am thinking now I am on a high does compared to your 25mg. I think Im going to stop it. Week two of this med and I feel irritable and angry. Negative and depressed. I also have insomnia. The only good thing about this med is that my appetitie has decreased a lot, but in the long run not worth the side effects that are bad. :(

Now a lot of factors can increase this value (eg. if you suffer from renal failure, liver issues etc.) But assuming the worst, and let's say you have taken 40mg of Oxycodone. This means: 4.5 hours later - 20mg remaining 9 hrs later - 10mg remaining 13.5 hrs later - 5mg 18 hrs - 2.5mg 22.5 hrs - 1.25mg So all in all, to be on the safe side, keep this value at 36 hours but allow a buffer of upto 48 hours to be on the safe side since there are other factors to consider like your dosage and body-weight. There is no indication that ST. John's Wort helps even with depression. Until there are more conclusive reports on this I suggest it is best to stay away from this and work with your doctor.

My 6 yr. old complains of a cough every morning. Didn't think it had anything to do with strattera because he has allergies, but I'm not sure now. I have had a bit of a cough since taking this med. I believe I read in the drug literature that persistant cough can be a side effect.

Definately. When I was first put on Strattera, I noticed a huge difference in my energy level. I was fatigued and felt like I had no energy to do tough tasks. Don't worry though, after about a month, I quit experiencing this fatigue and was back to normal. I have been taking Strattera for 6 months now and for some time now have had no side effects from Strattera.

Unless your taking a lot, and i mean A LOT, of pills you don't have to take them apart. They don't interfere with each others working at all. I would recommend eating something with both kind of pills, this is better for your stomach, and the pills will digest better.

ADD is where you cannot focus or stay organized or be on time or remember where you put things. You tend to be mellow, sometimes reserved, a reader-studier-writer-you like puzzles-movies. ADHD is the above but with a hyper aspect to it. My mom is allergic to dairy. My brother is allergic to potatoes. Odd but true. But there are other triggers too. If you get too hungry or do not eat enough protein you will get irritable and cranky. Boredom, you need to be constantly doing something. It is usually something physical, reading is not something that you have the patience for. Hyperactivity sufferers many times turn to drugs to even out how they feel and the hyperness they feel in their head. If they do not turn to drugs or alcohol many times they will self medicate with sugar & caffeine. It is a cycle of high and low. When you feel low you will eat/drink something high in sugar and/or caffeine to get that high and then when you get that low again you use sugar or caffeine What helps? Find out what you are allergic to and stay away from those foods. Eat really healthy and eat often. Smaller meals every two or so hours and that will help keep the highs and lows even. Limit sugar and caffeine. Also check if you are low in any cell salts as many times ADHD sufferers crave salt because they are low in one.

You can if you have a prescription for the codeine. Remember that your ADHD makes you more likely to become addicted to things, so be careful with the codeine. Follow the doctor's directions carefully and don't take extra. Remember that codeine makes you drowsy and sluggish, also.
