How to replace a fuel pump in subaru legacy turbo?

Under the rear seat, in the middle, there is a trap door. Go through the trap door and just below it is access to the gas tank. Remove the sender unit (removing the fuel lines and electrical connections first) and the fuel pump is atatched to the sending unit inside the tank.
.. note this is for a sedan. In a wagon, go through the carpet in the back. There is an oval cover, remove it, the fuel pump is in there. real easy to remove. Of course unplug the power and fuel lines first.

How do you reset the check engine light on 2005 Subaru Outback?

The best solution would be to borrow an OBD II code reader from Schuck's, plug it in (just below hood release mechanism in 2000 model), note the error code, and clear it by following the instructions on the screen. Alternatively, you can remove an reattach the negative terminal on the battery. This will reset your electrical system though, so it could mess with security systems and you might have to reset your clock.

Why does the car squeal or squeak when moving?

Two "most likely" reasons that are most likely.

A small piece of dirt or sand trapped between the pad and rotor often causes high pitched noise such as squeaks or squealing, sometimes a harsh bang on the brake pedal when driving may either loosen or melt the dirt and relieve your noise.

Make VERY sure you are able to do this in a safe area at safe speeds.

The second reason could be related to brake pads that are worn down to the wear sensor, the thin piece of metal that is designed to create that annoying noise when they rub on the rotor.

Both these two items MAY vary or go away when you either release or apply the brake

Pads that are metal on metal usually generate a grinding noise on brake apply not simply a squeal.

Do you need both air filters on Subaru Forester?

My guess is that you're talking about both of the air intake filters, not the cabin air filter. In response to that, no, you don't need both air filters. I typically only use the first one, not the one very close to the engine intake because my car rarely uses the snorkel. Using both can actually reduce your gas mileage because it obstructs the airflow more. Mine's a '99 with almost 150k on it, and it's still running just fine with one. Hope that helps.
