How long will it take a standard hose to fill 896 cubic feet with water?

The time it takes to fill a volume with water using a standard hose depends on the flow rate of the hose. Without knowing this flow rate, it is not possible to provide an accurate estimate of the time needed to fill 896 cubic feet.

What Rate of evaporation hypothesis?

if the rate of evaporation is more than the water comes out from the vessel and it can also spread every were in our house as well. so we should be careful about the evaporation of any thing

Optical fibers can carry light long distances because?

Optical fibers can carry light long distances because of total internal reflection, which ensures that light stays within the fiber by continuously reflecting off the inner walls. This allows for minimal loss of signal strength over long distances, making optical fibers an efficient method for transmitting light.

A thimbleful of water at 100c has a highrer temperature than a swimming pool full of water at 20c but the pool has more thermal energy than the timble explain?

To raise the temperature of water in a thimble of water from 0 to 100 requires a small amount of thermal energy. To do the same with a swimming pool would require putting a huge amount of thermal energy into the water comparatively speaking.

How do you make salt water for snails?

To make salt water for snails, mix non-iodized salt with dechlorinated water at a ratio of approximately 1 tablespoon of salt per gallon of water. Ensure the salt is fully dissolved in the water before adding it to the snail's habitat. Remember to monitor the salinity level regularly to maintain a suitable environment for your snails.

What can neutralize chlorine in a swimming pool?

Sodium thiosulfate. You can purchase at pool stores. If for the purpose of draining the pool water to the streets or sewer system you need to neutralize the chlorine or just let it drop on it's own to those levels needed. If on the other hand you have in access of 10.0 ppm chlorine then wait a few days for those levels to drop at their own rate. Otherwise, the water is safe even at 10.0 ppm. to swim in.

How many meters are in a meter stick?

What substances are put into Swimming Pool Water?

Common substances added to swimming pool water include chlorine for disinfection, pH adjusters like sodium bicarbonate or muriatic acid, algaecides to prevent algae growth, and shock treatments to remove contaminants. Other chemicals may be used to balance water hardness, stabilize chlorine, and maintain clarity.

How do you accurately test swimming pool chemistry Results from the same sample tested 1 at the pool dealer 2 with standard dipsticks and 3 with kits of solutions are inconsistent?

The dip sticks are notoriously inacurate, close enough for a quick check at home but not great. I'd trust the pool dealer results the most, everyone will get a little different results but it's not the end of the world. The dealers usually have good equipment and do a good job of keeping the calibrated, far more acurate then any home test kit.

What is the difference between chlorine and moronic acid in pools?

Moronic Acid is an anti-retroviral agent used to treat HIV. Chlorine (especially free chlorine) is an effective disinfectant used to kill (especially) bacteria in water, like swimming pools and drinking water systems.

I wonder if the questioner meant muriatic (hydrochloric) acid, which is sometimes used to lower the pH of pool water.

If muriatic acid is safe to pH the water in swimming pools can water that is just pH'ed with the acid be used on house plants?

If the water you are intending to use has been brought to Ph of 7.2 as is normally done in swimming pools then there is no problem at all using it to water plants.

No. Do not use this acid mixed with anything to water your houseplants. Muriatic acid is extremely dangerous and is a matter between life or death

Please check out the weblink at the lower left and you will see why. You can also ask an employee of a pool supply company if this is a dangerous practice or not.

What kind of mixture is table salt?

It is not a mixture; it is a compound. It is what's called an ionic compound, because the sodium atoms lose their 1 valence electron and the chlorine atoms pick up that electron to fill their outer energy level, giving them 8 valence electrons instead of 7 (7 is their normal number of valence electrons.)

The sodium atoms now have one less electron than protons, so they form a +1 ion and the chlorine atoms have one more electron than proton, so they form -1 ions. Since the ions have opposite charges, they are attracted to each other and form NaCl, or sodium chloride (table salt).

Can salt water swimming cause vaginal irritation?

Yes, swimming in salt water can lead to vaginal irritation for some individuals. The salt content in the water can disrupt the natural balance of bacteria and pH levels in the vagina, which may cause irritation or infection. It is important to rinse off thoroughly after swimming and consider using a barrier method, such as a swimsuit bottom, to protect the vaginal area.

Will algae harm my skin?

Algae in cosmetics is generally safe for skin and can offer various benefits, such as hydration and antioxidant protection. However, some individuals may be sensitive or allergic to certain types of algae, so it's always recommended to do a patch test first before using algae-based skincare products.

Can you put chemicals in the pool while the vacuum is in?

It is generally safe to add pool chemicals while the vacuum is operating as long as you follow the manufacturer's instructions for both the pool chemicals and the vacuum. However, it may be more effective to add chemicals when the vacuum is not running to allow the chemicals to distribute evenly throughout the water before the vacuum starts circulating.

Can ketchup remove green from your hair?

Usually it can, but sometimes hair needs a little more. I used to use apple cider vinegar when I had a pool. All I did was take a pitcher of warm water and about half a cup of the vinegar, or more, mix it, and rinse my hair with it after shampooing. Vinegar has a certain acid that smoothes the hair folicle as well, so not only should it remove the green, your hair should feel nice as well.

Why do you float back to the top when you dive under water in your swimming pool?

When you dive underwater in a swimming pool, your body displaces water, creating buoyancy that pushes you back towards the surface. This buoyant force is greater than your weight underwater, causing you to float towards the top when you stop exerting downward force. Additionally, the air in your lungs can also contribute to your buoyancy and push you upward.

You see tiny white balls of foam in your pool from time to time What is this from?

Have never experienced "white balls of foam" in pool. It could be that your filter is dirty and needs cleaning. Or that you have added a certain type of algacide to the pool. Does the foam seem to appear if the water is agitated? Is the foam a dirty brownish color? What are your chemistry levels - chlorine, pH, alkalinity, conditioner? How old is the water in the pool? What is the bather load - how many people at a time?

What is soft water?

Soft Water is water that has had all the ions such as sodium and calcium and magnesium, lead and copper removed from it due to filtration and sedementation process. (also the adding of lime water) hope that helps!

How do you remove slime from the bottom of a vinyl pool?

To remove slime from the bottom of a vinyl pool, you can use a pool brush or scrubbing pad to physically scrub the affected area. You can also try using a vinyl pool cleaner or a mixture of water and vinegar to help break down the slime for easier removal. Regularly cleaning and maintaining your pool's pH and chlorine levels can also help prevent slime buildup in the future.

How many gallons of water are in a 3.5'X 15' swimming pool?

You can use the volumetric equations. To break them down simply: Volume = Width * Height * Depth Width * Height = Area Area of a circle = Pi * radius2 Okay, so now that we have remembered the formulas, we can plug in the numbers: Radius = 15/2 or 7.5 feet so Area = 3.14159265 (Pi) * 7.52 which equals 176.715 sqare feet Now, Volume = Area * Depth, so 176.7145868 (the area) * 4 = 706.858347 cubic feet. 1 gallon = 0.13368 cubic feet, so take 706.858347/0.13368 to get the answer: A 15 foot round above ground swimming pool that is 4 feet deep will hold 5,287.6676 gallons of water.

What are the main chemicals in a saltwater pool?

The main chemicals in a saltwater pool are sodium chloride (salt) and chlorine. The salt is converted into chlorine through a process called electrolysis, which helps to sanitize the pool water. Additionally, other chemicals such as stabilizer (cyanuric acid) and pH adjusters may be needed to maintain proper water balance.

What does a pool with light gray plaster look like?

---- Water colors will change according to angle, distance and light. White, black, grey and blue plaster colors will give different shades of blue water reflections. Tan plaster colors will reflect green water. Green plaster colors will vary between emerald and blue. A light grey plaster color will be light blue grey on the steps and in the shallowest part of the pool. It will become a darker blue as the water gets deeper. In two words -"Gorgeous" and "Inviting"!

If you have a severe black algae problem that you have been mitigating for years and can't get rid of can getting a very dark blue liner help to hide the black algae stains?

In a word ~ NO. If the algae bloom is that severe maybe a replaster is in order. Sounds like you need to be more diligent on chemistry in the pool along with proper filtration among other things. Sounds like a problem of neglect. Black algae will bore into the plaster unlike green algae. It is very difficult to get rid of especially on rough plaster. You cannot cover over it or paint over it. Oh, the dark blue liner or any liner can and will cover and hide the algae problem but you will still have the algae problem and in fact compound the problem. The algae could bore through the new liner and then where will you be - - right back in the same boat. k
