How do you connet a wii to an ATT uverse box?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You will first need to find out your Gateway's wireless name (router name) and password to access. Search for a wireless device from the wii, and find your network and select. it will ask you for your password (for your wii, first time users will need to create one at this point) , and then it will search again, and you MUST find yours. click on it and enter your password (on the side of your gateway on a sticker) and then it may update, it may take a while. What are the disadvantages of a telephone message?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Disadvantages:

1. Messages can often be interpreted wrongly when there is no one to correct the confusion.

2. You cannot ask the person questions like you would having a conversation with them and this can waste time, two people leaving replying to messages all day, as one of them is always busy while the other is not.

3. Other people can listen to your messages when some of them might be private.

4. If somebody is trying to reach you in an emergency situation and you have voicemail switched on, then you will not know that something bad has happened until maybe too late.

I'm actually doing part of an assignment on this subject right now, that's all I have come up with so far. Hope it helped!

2.Highly resistive to noise as we are dealing with binary digits.

3.Highly secure.

4.Can travel long distances and can store data for long time.

5.AS we have regenerative repeaters & reconstruction filters in the receiver section we can extract original signal transmitted

6. Error correcting and detecting is easy.

7. A comman format is used for different kind of message signal such as speech signal and video signal.

8. Flexibility in configuring digital communication. digital hardware implimentation is flexible and permit the use of LSI. microprocessors anmd digital switches.

What does a fax document contain?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Igore the following names that dont include with the fax:

· The fax needs to be addressed to Don Corblimey

· It needs his fax number in Sicily of 0898-0012 (find out the country code for Sicily)

· It needs today's date

· It needs a sensible title so that Don will know what it is about

· It needs to include the chart from Chimp Andy - well from you really, but Chimp Andy doesn't want Don to know he can't create a chart.

· It needs to include a short summary of what the chart shows - remember, Don isn't well known for his brains.

· Because Chimp Andy can't write, it needs a picture of an angry looking chimp in place of his signature (look for one on the internet).

What are the health hazards that can be caused by telecommunication masts to people living within close range?

User Avatar

Asked by Barrangy

The electromagnetic radiation (EM) from a cell phone hub is considerable, but it poses little threat to individuals on the ground around the antenna array. Even if they live close by. This kind of EM radiation does affect tissue, but it is not ionizing radiation. Some extremely minor energy absorption will take place; the tissue will take some damage when the radiation disrupts chemical processes, but it would be something that an individual would not generally notice.

There is a much more significant threat posed to individuals by this technology, and it is to the mobile phone user. Holding a cell phone up to one's head for long periods of time will cause more tissue damage to someone than living near a cell phone hub. Even though the phone's radiation is low power, it's right against the side of the head. And given the length of time some people spend on these devices, some causal connections to pathology will emerge if they haven't already been observed. You can't hold an RF (radio frequency) source, even a low-powered one, against the side of your head for an hour a day every day and expect no ill effects in time.

Why has digital technology become the most reliable state of the art technology for data and information storage and transmission?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It isn't.

If you print something on acid-free paper, it will be easily readable in 200 years.

A harddisk, on the other hand, rarely last longer than 5-10 years even under the best conditions. A CD or DVD may last 50 years, but no one knows for sure yet.

Even putting physical reliability aside, it is not at all obvious that the programs we use in a few hundred years will be able to read the data formats we use today.

Compare to punched cards: They were a primary digital storage medium as recently as 40-50 years ago, but you will be hard put to find a punched card reader for a computer bought today. And possibly even harder put to find software that knows what the data means, especially for binary data.

Digital technology has its big advantages in operating on data - whether summing or copying, the computer is much less likely to make errors than a human - and in searching. Finding anything specific among millions of printed pages can be a hopeless task, while searching the same volume of digital data is trivial.

Digital technology has several massive advantages, but storage reliability is not one of them.

Can you use a router with peoplepc dsl?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes. You must first make sure your DSL modem is just a modem not a modem and a router. Then you must setup your DSL modem in "bridged mode". Next log into your router and change it from DHCP to PPPoE and enter your DSL username and password in the proper fields. All will work well from that point on.

Thanks,

Is telecommunication a subset of data communication?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

yes, telecommunication is a subset of data communication as we know that data communication means exchange of data between two devices via some form of transmitting medium . data communication is considered local if a communication devices are in the same building or similarly restricted geographical area and is considered as remote , if the devices are farther apart .while the telecommunication means , which includes telephony, telegraphy, telephone means communication at a distance transmit the data , thus data can be transmitted by two ways local or remote between individuals ,local communication usually occurs between face to face, while remote communication takes place over a distance , thus we can say that telecommunication is a subset of data communication.....

Why adsl upload speeds slower than download speeds?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

This is by design, and is reflected in the name - the A in ADSL stands for Asymmetric, reflecting the fact that the speed is not the same in both directions.

There are both technical and marketing reasons for this. On the technical side, it is simpler to provide high speed in the download than the upload direction. On the marketing side, this allows companies to sell high download speeds to private customers for a relatively low cost, since download speed is what most households are interested in, while at the same time charging much more for business customers that need high upload speed as well.

Is there a device that lets you connect to a computer using dsl from a phone jack in another room without wires?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

What is this 'device' you are referring to? Are you using your phone lines in your house to run a network? If so, then no, it will be almost impossible to run a DSL modem to that network.

The reason is, a phone line network, which typically runs at 1mb per second, uses 'token ring' methology... basically one computer holds the 'token' and the other computers are constantly asking for it, and it travels ONE direction, not 2 way communication.

For the price, I would install network cards in all your computers, and run CAT5 cable, with a router near your DSL Modem. that way, the DSL modem will see one computer, but all the computers, attached to the router via CAT5 cable, will be able to access the internet.

How do you connect two desktops to one DSL modem?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You need to connect your modem to a ROUTER, and then connect both desktops to the router, instead of connecting one desktop directly to the modem.

You can connect the 2 desktops to the router either with standard CAT5 network wiring (recommended), or wirelessly if you have a wireless router and suitable wireless hardware attached to the desktops.

How to call Germany from japan?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The telephone country code for Germany is +49, and you must also drop the trunk prefix 0 from the beginning of the German domestic telephone number.

On a mobile phone (cell phone), you can dial the number in international format, beginning with +49, including the plus symbol.

On a landline phone, or on a cell phone that doesn't allow you to enter the plus symbol, replace the plus symbol with the international dialing prefix for calls from the US, which is 011.
