AnswerAssuming you have cruse control.I belive the cruse control is dissengaged by a vacume system that uses switches under the dash to let the system know if the clutch or brake has been pressed. Check to see if there might be a massive air leak when the clutch is pressed. I would think that there would be a vacume leak that you could hear if this was the problem. Does it stall at lower RPM? When cold?Where is the relay board on Volvo 740?
Open bonnet and on right hand side where the air filter is its connected to the body there its a tight squeeze you will be better removing air filter cover and its coneected to the body with two flat head screws hope im on about the same thing ...rootsnattyroots good look

How to open a Volvo door that will not open?
If the door won't open from the outside when you press the handle, you need to take apart the interior part of the door and the mechanism. There is a barrel that slides in a groove that has jumped out causing the door to not open from the outside. If you have auto locks they will not work either. I have found that it usally is due to binding on the wind deflector. The best trick till you can get that resolved is to use a plastic card like a credit card or your video card, and place it in the opening just before it closes. It has to stick up high enough to go over the wind deflector and will actually act as a slide to push the deflector down as the roof goes over it. This can be a temporary or perminate solution depending on how motivated you are and the cars worth to you.
My sunroof does the same thing, but for me it is caused by the motor jamming, all i have to do is hit the motor and it closes, this works until you can rplace the motor.
Remember, the sunroof can always be manually opened and closed by removing the interior cover plate (on the ceiling) using a Torx (six lobe) driver- size T10, and then a standard screwdriver fits into the small, slotted pin located more-or-less in the center of the motor - rotating the pin one way or the other to open or close the roof.
Mine does this, and like in an above answer, it's the wind deflector. Reach out the window and above the front of the sunroof, and push it down a little while closing the sunroof. Remove your fingers as the flap starts to go down by itself.

haha. i have had similar problems. this may be a two man operation. one guy to pull the lever and one guy to push down on the hood at the same time. once you get the hood open (if you ever get the hood open) you may have to loosen the mounting bracket bolts to slightly adjust the positioning of your hood. watch your fingers.....i really don't know the answer to your question. maybe the latch under the hood is bent or..................i wish i was there to help you......sorry!

Starting from the MIDDLE set of bolts: #1 RH #2 LH Move forward (toward front of car) 1 set of bolts: #3 RH #4 LH Move back (toward windshield) 2 sets of bolts: #5 RH #6 LH Bolts all the way to the front of head: #7 RH #8 LH Bolts all the way to the back of head: #9 RH #10 LH It would look like this: B 9 10 5 6 1 2 3 4 7 8 F The torque spec is 30ft.lbs + 115 degrees rotation. there is no part called an "ignition controller". one part is called the ignition control module or "power stage" which is on the left side inside fender wall partially hidden by the air cleaner, the other part is called the ecu, electronic control unit or computer and it is under the dash above the accelerator pedal.
There is two wires on the rear drive shaft and they are probably broken. Have them soldered and it will work fine.

However, a company might disable this feature, or set up the ECM so that the idle shutdown timer remains in effect while in high idle.
You can try keeping your trailer brakes locked and your tractor brakes released.. it may or may not work, again dependent on what's programmed into the ECM.

It has a plug with 2 wires located on the differential cover. check it out, I'll guess you have a wire broken or maybe it just simply came unplugged.

I have done this! You can change just the mirror glass or whole assembley easily.For glass, look under the mirror, you'll see a oblong hole.Reach up inside with a small, flat blade screw driver,You will feel some "teeth".Get the blade in between the teeth and slide it either right or lefy.This unlocks the glass.It will pull striaght out of mirror shell if its all line up.A suction cup stuck to the glass may help. for the entire assembly.You have to pop off a triangular trim piece on the doors interior.That exposes the adjustments rubber boot.This pulls straight off.Then you can see a retaining clip that slides out from under the adjusters cable.Pull it out of the way.Now you have three small bolts that are holding the mirrors base to the door.As you un-bolt, have a helper hold the mirror to keep from dropping it.Install is just the reverse.Easy!
