The Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) is located within a black plastic cylinder housing. (1998-2000 models.) This housing is easy to spot, coming right out of (attached to) the Air Filter's plastic box. To access the MAF, you must unscrew two T-20 screws (except they are the 'safety version' = with a hole in the middle of the screw. Once the screws are off, you can grip the sensor carefully and 'pop' out. It is about 5 inches long and has VERY delicate parts that should not be touched--unless you are going to spray it with electric cleaner, or unless it is broken anyway. You can keep your old one if the copper wire is still there. It may need to be sprayed clean though. My wire is already gone, so I will have to get a new MAF anyway (which comes with the black plastic housing included). This will cost about 200 USD.

Disconnect the red battery wire then reconnect it.

Switch the ignition without starting the car to "drive-mode" (number 2) and hold down the trip-button for a few seconds, turn of the ignition and wait for a few seconds and it will be gone.

Manual says 110000 miles or 10 years but earlier is safer along with renewing the water pump and idler/tensioner pulleys.

You must remove the center console (shifter, parking brake). There's a gold box next to the parking brake assembly - this is the control for the auto seatbelt system. Here's the question though - ARE BOTH SEATBELTS INOPERABLE? If so, you most likely need a new control box (don't be lazy - go to a pick-n-pull yard). If not, you wil most likely need a new track and motor (these are both located in the side panel near the window trim. Peace and good luck!

if the service light has come on, you can reset this by pressing the odo trip meter reset button on the dash. that's the one you use to reset the trip counter to zero. put key in ignition and turn to position 2, press and hold reset button for 10 seconds. light will go out.

The reset button is the black plastic stick next to the odometer. You hold it down for at least 2 seconds. Now if you want to reset the trip odometer that is on the selector switch lower right corner on the instrument panel.

The transmission fluid dip stick is a yellow cap that is located behind the lower radiator hose. Its hard to find but if you move some of the cables and hoses that are close to the transmission case it will be there.

I have the same issue. I can't find a switch on the door anywhere. Were you able to figure anything out? I'm wondering if the switch isn't in the latch. My bell doesn't ring, but the light on the rear door stays on and drains the battery all the same.

Buy a new one. Seriously what needs repairing in the tailgate? There are many items that can fail and need repair. Please be more specific.

The entire process is quite easy and simple. All you really need to know is not to block the wheels and jack stands. You will need a copper mallet to complete this job.

There is no single unlock code. If there was a single code, it would defeat the purpose of a radio security code, as the code would be leaked or become well known after just a short period of time. There are many codes out there, and the best way to find yours is to either take your car to a dealer or call the dealer. Provide them with your VIN number, and they can tell you. In the Volvo Computer system, they can pull up a build sheet on your specific car. It will tell all of the options that your vehicle shipped with, and will also list the Radio Code. If your car was upgraded with a different Volvo radio, aftermarket, then the code they have on file will be invalid, and you will need to take it to the dealer. They will pull the radio and find the code based on a number printed on the back of the unit.

All this work is done from under the car. There are two sensors on the S70. One is called the upstream( located higher up on the exhaust manifold) and the other would be the downstream. They are located on the exhaust pipe prior to the cat. converter. Unscrew the sensor (need to borrow a special tool) and follow the wire up around the engine to a small connector. Something to do with the accelerator. Pretty easy to check the mechanical attachment on side of throttle intake; the ball fittings on the rod connecting accelerator fittings and the throttle body become worn an pop out. Put the ends back on the ball sockets and twist some wire or something around until you can fix it properly; drive gently and redo it if it pops again. Should be able to get quite a few miles that way (and the part is cheap). As for the electronic version(starting in late '90s?), I'm having signs of trouble with that under severe conditions have tried taking off the intake and trying to clean the thing with a solvent. It should help, but I haven't pushed this car or re-experienced extreme cold with it yet, so no definitive comment.
