Any basic oil, depending on your preference. I use 15w40, but 15w30, 10w30 or 10w40 should be fine just depends on your applications for the tractor/age. I also recommend on an older tractor that isn't in use much or hasn't been tuned to use slick 50 oil treatment. I use a napa 1010 cartridge style filter for the oil as well.

Well...kind of. There's a recess in the cam follower (which is way inside your engine) that accepts one end of the pushrod and a recess in the rocker that accepts the other end. Pushrods are the same at both ends. So... Start by rolling the pushrod on a flat surface. If it won't roll, it's bent and you need a new one. Stick the pushrods into their holes, then install and torque the rocker arm. Adjust your valves, install the valve cover and you're done.

Persistence. The slide assembly used for these headlights is ingenious and infuriating at the same time. Make sure that the lugs are matched up to the slots that they go through. Gently but, firmly move the light assembly into the socket assembly until it stops. Turn the lever to pull the light assembly back into place. Wiggle the light assembly while turning the lever to help it go smoothly. If it does not go the first 2 or 10 times, do not get frustrated. It will go and the next time you have to change one out it will take 1/10th of the time.

They went out of business many years ago, but what Beetlemex did was to take a Bug that had been registered in the US, drive it to Mexico and take it apart. They would take the chassis, rebuild it to be like new, then put all the parts off a Mexican Beetle on it. They'd then install the two number plates from the old body onto the new one and bring the car back to the US. I wouldn't recommend it unless you live very close to Mexico, because you'll need to go there to get some of the parts you'll need.
