If it isn't sitting just right in the guide rails then the friction will be stronger than the motor, which will cause the window to stop. When you're pulling you're helping the motor along so that the window continues all the way up. You can try spraying the guide rails with teflon- or silicone spray, but eventually you'll have to have the window realigned.

How do you change brake light on VW Caddy 55 plate?
Pull off vertical trim on inside edge of light unit to uncover 2 retaining screws for assembly...undo screws & remove light unit.
It can feel quite tight as though it won't come off...... but it will come off with gentle persuasion.
When you first look at trim it looks like part of light unit but it is definetly removable.
when you undo the 2 large screws you then have to slide the light out as it's on a small runner. i.e undo the screws then slide the whole light out the side of the vehicle....don't pull it towards the back or you will break the plastic runner.
Then you just undo the back two small screws on the back of the console and change the bulb.
Takes 5 minutes tops when you have done it once or twice....Good luck!!
How do you get air out of the cooling system on 98 VW Beetle?
You shouldn't have to worry about it. With the engine still cold, just let it idle in the drive way with the expansion tank cap off. Eventually, the car will cycle the coolant and the air will exchange places with whatever coolant is in the expansion tank. Then top off the expansion tank, let it idle a little longer and see if the level gets any lower.
Where is your antifreeze going if its not leaking?
Check to see if it is mixing with engine oil
Run engine to normal operating temperature and remove oil dipstick, let a drop fall on hot part of engine - oil will smoke coolant will "sizzle"
If so could be a sign of a bad head gasket
It's not going anywhere in a Type 1 Beetle because we never used antifreeze in aircooled engines.
In a New Beetle, it could be going one of three places. In ascending order of dread:
You could have a leak you don't know about. Do you smell antifreeze inside the car? Heater cores do spring leaks occasionally. (Changing one is an awful job. Hope it's not that.) Heater hoses leak. Little pinholes you can't even see will cause leaks you can't find.
You could have a bad head gasket.
Or you could have a cracked block.
