The primary reason for US intervention in the Iraq war was the belief that Saddam Hussein's regime possessed weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) and posed a threat to regional stability. The US administration also aimed to promote democracy and remove a dictator from power. However, subsequent investigations found no evidence of WMDs, raising questions about the accuracy of the original intelligence.

What are the similarities between World War 2 and the war on terror?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

In both cases, airplanes were used by foreigners to attack vital points in the United States, resulting in the deaths of many people, Americans and other nationalities. One important distinction must be made, however. In the case of Pearl Harbor, a recognized world power, Japan did the attack. This caused the US to enter World War 11. At the World Trade Center, hijacked American commercial airliners were used to smash into two large office buildings in New York City. No nation took responsibility for the WTC tragedy.

Who would win in Iraq vs Iran?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Answer 1

I See Iraq wins

Answer 2

The Iran-Iraq War of 1980-1988 seems to show that even when Iran is just recovering from an internal revolution and reorganization and Iraq is being supported by half of the West's biggest players the two countries can reach a general stalemate. However, that stalemate was when Iran was in a weaker position than it is today and when Iraq was in a much stronger position than it is today. Without a doubt, as of early 2012, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard would be able to summarily defeat the Iraqi Army.

Is there an official US Military list of Purple Heart recipients?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No, there is not. The Purple Heart is one of the most common awards and has been received by over 800,000 individuals.

No, at least not from the Vietnam era or prior.

This answer is inaccurate and does a poor job answering the question. The purple heart is one of the more uncommon awards in the military. There has been hundreds of millions of service members since the creation of the award. The number of Purple hearts awarded is estimated to be closer to 1.6 million. Purple heart recipients make up less then 1 percent of all service members to ever serve. There is no complete list but the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor has a list of over 70,000 recipient's.

How many military soldiers die per a minute?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Not enough to use a Day to measure. in 6 years it been about 4000 Us. So i mean at the most that an average of what .5 a day??? which doesnt mean you count as 1 every other day. Remeber troops are killed at a steady rate or something.... i think the highest In one day was a bombing that added up to 25 total.

the average is about 30 or 35 a month. this month (July) so far is fortunately only 3 and we are already 1/4 of the way through. The most in 2008 so far was 52 in April and the lower aside from this month was may. Last year was our worst year so far with over 900 deaths. it is getting alot better already though. The year is more than halfway over and we are only at 211!!!! although its horrible misfortune that these troops have passed away it is a vast improvement so far and the deathtoll this year could possible be better than that of 2003. which was less that 500.

Support our troops and give this as much appreciation and respect you can
