Many bike owners find it easier to take it to a mechanic to get their valve adjusted. However, it is possible to do it yourself. You must set your engine at TDC on the compression stroke. You do this by inserting a small screwdriver in the spark plug hole. You will then be able to access the valve you need.
It uses a 47 tooth sprocket.

A backfire is caused by the buildup of un-burned gasoline in the exhaust header and pipe system. Once the gas has built up to the right mixture with air, it explodes, making a loud bang.
They came stock with a 49T or 48T rear sprocket you can choose a replacement with either a 48T, 49T, 50T, or 51T, if you have the old sprocket count the teeth on the sprocket and that tells if it is a 48T, 49T or whatever (48T = 48 teeth)

Most stock Harleys will be 1 down; shifter all the way to the bottom, and then half up to neutral, then depending on the number of gears, 2-3-4-5 the rest are all up. With a "heel-toe" shifter it would be 1 toe down then 2-3-4-5 heels down.

Suzuki made a good reliable ATV. If it starts and then stops, there is most likely an issue with gas flow. I believe that has a plastic gas tank, so no concerns about rust in the empty gas tank (tractors have that issue). Your best bet is to clean the tank and carb real well with carb cleaner. Be sure to make sure the float is working, all orfices are clean and the choke moves… Read More

Answer Look very closely at the spark plug boot where it connects to the plug wire; remove the boot and trim back the wire a slight amount then reconnect. If the float isn't going all the way up then soemthing is probably stuck in the hole that the little o-ring and needle are in. If the o-ring is missing or detiorated it will cause this also. Take the float assembly out and the needle on the little wire. Remember how it goes… Read More

Don't change the mix ratio. More horsepower is produced when mixed at 20 to 1 than at ratios higher 32 to 1 or 50 to 1. The more oil the better the rings seal and the less friction of piston to cylinder clearance and better heat transfer from the piston to cylinder. One problem is the the carb jetting must be proper no matter what ratio you mix at. Which is cheaper replacing Pistons and… Read More

The simplest way to build the snorkel is to take the measurements of the intake hole and buy PVC piping that would match the hole. Also, consider using pipe/hose that is larger in diameter than the stock intake to account for the reduced airflow caused by the resistance of the extra pipe/hose. Then get two pieces of flex pipe to make the joints, one for the intake entry and the other for the exit point… Read More

Cleaning a Motorcycle Carburetor Motorcycle carbs can be simple for a single cylinder engine or complicated for a 4 cylinder in-line, GS850, 1000, 1100. I'm not as familiar with the V Suzuki. One common reason for the gears sticking is incorect oil type, motorcycles have wet clutch and specific motorcycle oil must be used, otherwise the clutch drags and gears are hard to shift.Aside from any major problems with the transmission itself, is your clutch working properly?
