What is the difference between alto and baritone?

Alto and baritone saxes are both pitched in Eb, but the baritone sounds an octave lower than the alto. Playing a written C on an alto produces the sound of the Eb below the written note. On a baritone, the note that sounds is the Eb in the next lower octave.

To make that happen, the air column for any given note is twice as long on the baritone as on the alto, and the instrument is correspondingly larger. the mouthpiece and reed are also much larger on the baritone.

Finally, many baritones are keyed to a low A, while most altos are only keyed to a low Bb

What kind of mouth piece and reed did charlie Parker use?

Charlie, contrary to popular belief, used a white Runyon Model 22 mouthpiece, with a 4 facing. His reed choice, however, is more obscure. He would use any kind of Rico reeds he could get his hands on, including Tenor reeds on Alto Saxophone. Getting the same equipment as him won't get you anywhere near his sound as much as years of practice and listening to his recordings a lot will, but if his setup fits you, then it'll help.

Are selmer aristocrat saxophones junk?

Not junk. They're a good student sax, but vary depending on their age. the Aristocrat line was introduced by Buescher in the 1930's as a professional instrument. By the time Selmer bought Buescher in 1963, designs had advanced and the 'crats were considered intermediate instruments. Selmer continued to use the Buescher tooling for some time but hasn't for some decades. More recent instruments are made in Taiwan, and I don't know whether they have anything in common with the old 'crats, but they are still considered good student saxes.
