Are four wheelers considered unsafe?

Any motorized vehicle can be dangerous and unsafe, the key is to respect the vehicle in which you are operating. The rider should be familiar in the operation of the 4 wheeler and if it is purchased for a younger person they should at all times be supervised.

ATV you have a Polaris 700 street legal in AZ with insurance and street tires you were just pulled over in Colorado and was told that your Polaris is not legal in Colorado how will travel?

because your machine is registered, and insured in AZ, it SHOULD be recognized as being a plated, street legal vehicle. The builder of the snowmobile turned into a reverse trike had to sell it to his brother, have his brother register it in another state as a special vehicle, therefore getting a title, then bring it to the builder and selling it back..lol..where there is a will there is a way.

Why does the fuel mix with the oil on your 250cc ATV?

If the fuel mixes with the oil it is because the engine is a 2 cycle engine rather than a 4 cycle engine. A 2 cycle engine has no oil reservoir and the engine is lubricated by the oil mixed with the gasoline. Without that oil in the fuel the engine would be destroyed. Now if you are saying that you have a 4 cycle engine and the fuel is getting into the oil reservoir, then I would suspect that the needle valve and seat are defective in the carburetor which is allowing fuel to flow into the intake while the engine is not running. This fuel will flow down into the combustion chamber and eventually end up in the oil pan. The float may also be sticking causing the same thing. Make sure to turn the fuel supply off when the engine is not running.

How much air should a ATV tire have?

Most manufacturers' ATV tires are designed to run at a low pressure gauge, between three and ten P.S.I.

When mounting, never exceed the pressure listed on the sidewall for bead seating. With a stubborn tire, it may be necessary to release the air & re-lube the beads a couple of times before the beads will seat correctly. If in doubt, take the tire to a professional.

For best performance, you'll need to do some experimenting. Many riders will run higher pressures for hard surfaces. This lowers rolling resistance for a higher top speed, but it will also decrease your ride quality and increase wear in the center of the tire, making it more susceptible to impact damage.

Running at a lower than recommended tire pressure increases footprint; which, under most conditions, will also increase traction. However, under inflation can also cause premature tire failure (from excessive sidewall flex), sidewall and tread cracking, and possibly bent rims. Excessively low pressure also runs a higher risk of popping the tire bead off of the wheel, which will bring your ride to a sudden end.

I recommend starting at the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure and then adjusting up or down a single P.S.I. at a time until you find what works best for your riding style and conditions. On the rears, you'll be looking for the setting that provides the best traction and ride, but in my opinion, the fronts are the most important. Too low of a pressure will make your quad track poorly and turn like a tank. It is common to run different pressures from front to rear, but you should always have the same pressure from side to side on the same axle. A difference as small as one P.S.I. between tires that are sharing an axle can cause the machine to pull to the side with the lower pressure. Keep in mind that this is very subjective area. Each rider will find their own sweet spot at a different pressure for the given terrain.

What kind of oil in Chinese ATV 110?

What temperature does a Yamaha 350 warrior run at?

The Yamaha 350 Warrior is air cooled and has no temperature gauge. The engine runs at normal ATV and air cooled motorcycle engine temperatures. However, some Warrior riders have noticed it occasionally has a tendency to overheat. This is easily seen in the dark when the part of the exhaust closest to the engine starts to have an orange glow. If this happens, shut the engine down immediately and let it cool. In the daytime, this glow cannot be seen but you will notice sluggish performance at the throttle which is a similar sign. You can prevent overheating by sensible treatment and not overtaxing your vehicle especially in hot weather.

How do you find out the last registered owner of an ATV?

Depending on what state you live in....you must file the paperwork with the issuing authority.

Here in Pa the DCNR will check to see if there ever was a title holder then send notice that you are attempting to title it and investigate as to why the title was never transferred.

If the original title owner does not reply, a new title in your name will be issued.

But again, each state may be different

Can you use amsoil 0w40 wet clutch ATV oil in your ricon?

Yes you can. I use it in my 2006 Rincon since it was new. The AFF 0W-40 is formulated for the wet clutch, which the Rincon has. The Rincon has a car style automatic transmission with a torque converter. It is very sensitive to the proper oil level, you must follow the procedure in the owners manual exactly to obtain the proper oil level. Failure to follow that procedure will not get you the correct amount of oil and erratic shifting and other anomalies will occur.

I know many riders with various ATV and UTV's that also use it. One of the best synthetic oils on the market IMO. AMSOIL developed this oil specially for this type of engine/transmssion ATV.

From their web site.

Specially formulated for 4-stroke recreational motors, ATV's and snowmobiles. Reduces wear. Wet-clutch compatible. Contains no friction modifiers. Broad viscosity range makes it excellent for use in both hot and cold weather conditions.

How do you get the parking brake cable unstuck on a kawasaki ATV?

If the parking brake cable is stuck, it is probably rusted in place. Try squirting WD-40 into the cable itself. If not, you will have to replace the cable.

Are ATV's street legal in Michigan?

Three and four-wheel all-terrain vehicles (ATV) cannot be upgraded for on-road use. ATV's are manufactured with a live axle, rather than a differential gear, which seriously affects their handling characteristics when operated on paved surfaces. So there is no possible way they can be street legal unless the manufacture make a ATV with a differential gear.

--The above statement is wrong. Many atvs currently sold come with open differentials, which allow the rear tires turn at different speeds (just like every unmodified truck on the road). Atvs have been street legal in many states for years. In Ohio you are allowed to ride on secondary roads without any modifications, unless a specific jurisdiction states otherwise. MI has an extensive off-highway-vehicle trail system which incorporates the use of many public roads. I imagine the rules are similar to OH (no state routes, interstates, city, or juristictions that state otherwise). Atvs remain illegal to operate on roads in many states due to the fact that manufacturers state plainly that their atvs are not intented to be operated on public roads.

Actually, 1 year ago they made the law that you can ride a ATV (fourwheeler) on any non state roads in Michigan if your four wheeler has the correct appliances, and if you either have your ATV lisence or you are 16 years or older.
