There is no adjustment to it however. The top part of it has a 3/8" opening that you can attach the end of a 3/8" ratchet end to and pull up on the loosen the belt.

I just replaced the front signal light in a 2002 Century, it's probably the same or similar. Pull up on the two white plastic clips on both side at the rear of the light assembly. Pull the light assembly forward amd remove the black rubber circle behind the bulb. Remove the bulb assembly by turning counter clockwise. Pull out bulb. replace bulb and repeat steps in reverse order.

Mine is located way under the dashboard, between the brake pedal and the gas pedal, hidden behind a panel.
To start, look under the dashboard on the driver's side, and there is a panel you can remove by unscrewing a few screws. This panel has a slot in it for the lever that the brake pedal is attached to. You will want to take the panel off, it takes just a couple of minutes and makes a huge difference in getting to the flasher.
When the panel is off, get upside down in the front seat, then look directly to the gas-pedal side of the lever that the brake pedal is attached to (i.e., look towards the passenger's side), and you will hopefully spot a little round can about 1" in diameter (or maybe a cube about that size). If it is just an inch or two from the brake pedal, and it has wires going to it, that oughta be the flasher.

Joking -- either the engine gaskets or leaking and allowing air to come in, a sensor is blown that is sending bag fuel/air mix data to the engines computer, or a timing belt / serpentine belt is off.

Use a flathead screwdriver and a hammer and break the lock. OUCH!!! well you really stepped in it and that would just spread it around. Go to the back seat, reach under the back section with both hands and a strong/ quick thrust upward will pop the seat back out and up, pull it out of the way and you should be able to reach into the trunk.

For the '97 there's a small door just a few feet under and behind the front bumper. Door opens with flathead screwdriver to reveal oil filter. I found it very difficult to screw door closed again when finished. Screwiest setup I ever saw!

the first part I would look at replacing is the fan resistor this may be a circuit board or a assembly of three coils which regulate the fan speed. This resistor may be under the dash where your blower is located or under the hood next to your blower. Hope this helps you.
