Yes it does. In 1998, it came with single climate control, dual zone climate control, and digital dual zone climate control. I own a 1998 Century with a regular dual zone climate control. The dual zone let's the driver and passenger set two different temperatures for different levels of comfort. The digital version of the dual zone let's the driver set a temperature for the entire car by setting an actual temperature (ranging from 61 degrees to 90 degrees) or the driver can set an actual temperature while the passenger can adjust the temperature by way of an up/down arrow key. But the passenger temperature is a relative temperature meaning you can make it colder or hotter little by little with each push of a button. The digital dual zone climate control also has a feature that allows you to set a temperature and have the car automatically adjust to that particular degree I.E… if you think a cool 74 degrees is your right setting, then when you get in your hot car in the mid afternoon, you just set the temperature to 74, press the "auto" button and at first the A/C will blow cold and at a high fan setting but then automatically adjusts the temperature and fan speed down as it get's to the 74 degree mark. As you drive, the A/C controller automatically will keep the car at 74 degrees. Hope this helps

From what I have seen and come across in researching this problem on this very vehicle, I have found that the most likely and unfortunately common cause of this problem is the intake manifold gasket. It is so common infact that I have found manufactures of upgraded gaskets to counteract the OEM replacement, which was also supposedly beefed up to address this problem. You probrably want to have a pro do the repairs, as it is rated at an 8 hour job. That is if you can afford the 8 hours at their shop rate.

I guess Your talking about the 4 cyl 2.2 eng? The filter is in the front center of the Eng, under a Black cover that has a Hex top for a Metric wrench,the size of the wrench? I forgot, hey I'm old!. Clean the area around it with an arisol spray like Brake Clean. Just unscrew it and pull the filter out and replace it with a new one, wet the seal around the top with new oil. done

on this new a car the balljoints and tierod ends are probebly sealed wich means they dont need you to grease them. if not they are on the upper and lower ball joints wich are behind the tires so you will need to take the tires off for easy access to the grease fittings. there may also be 3 or 4 on the steering linkage located neer the front of the car underneth.

the filter is not a typical metal canister filter it is a paper element that fits into a aluminum housing that is located underneath the front of the car. By removing the front most cover which has around 8 hex screws you will be able to see the housing which is mounted horizontally............now for the best part it is very tricky to get at the element without a special tool......Shame, shame , shame on Toyota for that bs.....however I am changing my own oil and am going to source a tool to make the job a little easier. The EGR valve is located under your hood, right next to the transmission dipstick tube. It has a metal cage on the bottome side of it, and a plastic sorrounding peice on top. It will have three 13MM nuts holding it to the throttle body, and two 10MM on the bottom holding the small exhaust bybass tube. It will also have 1 vacume line, and 1 small wiring harness going to it.
