Start by disconnecting the battery.
Where is the freeze plug located on 96 cadillac deville?
They are located on the lower part of the motor
Where is the vats module located on a 1997 cadillac deville?
In the trunk: Look in the trunk, on the bottom of the partial shelf very close to the weatherstripping are three plastic thumb-nuts holding the flimsy seat-back cover on. Unscrew the nuts and remove the cover (cover is contoured to the trunk side of the back-seat and is large but light, covering the seat and the bottom of the shelf). Underneath on the seat back are a ton of modules and relays. The vats/passkey module is a small black box located just right and down from the very center. About 1x3x5" It will have a connector coming out of the bottom.
The connector is a two-row eight pin connector. Unplug it. Looking closely, you will see the rows labeled A and B and columns 1-8. B7 and B8 are what you are looking for. They will be purple w white stripe and white w black stripe, cut em both. Measure the resistance of your key pellet. Get $2 of resistors from Radioshack that add up to the pellet resistor. Solder them in line with one another. Splice that between the two wires ON THE CONNECTOR SIDE. Use butt connectors or just get busy with the soldering. I know that its more than you asked but that's it. It took me about three hours of running to radioshack and splicing and making coffee, etc, etc. I did it on a 94 deville earlier today, a 97 is the same deal. Good luck.
check this link out for the perfect write up. Same everything, the difference is that your module is easier to get to and work on!!!

Blown fuse, bad thermal relay, bad fan motor, or bad wiring.
Try the fan relay switch if your fuse is not blown.
(second author) Another author hot wired their fan to check if fan(s) was still good.
Sounds like your fans did not move before and after you changed the thermostat (so you should have not written the word "now")? If just later, and because you may have accidentally messed with conductors when you changed the thermostat, then wiggle or clean your connections and possibly do a continuity check.
Depending on the year of the car, possibly near the battery there are a few relays (and maybe one by the fuse box inside the car or by the glove compartment). Lightly tap on them as they may be stuck. Worked for me for a stuck radiator cooling fan, as one was stuck on but that was stuck on not off as in your case so may not work the same.
there are to wires that run from the security system to the eginition switch that's break i beleave they are orange and white you cut the to wires that run from to the switch take your key to a lock smith and have the resition measured it will be between one and fifteen go to radio shack and buy u a ressitor that match your key and solder it between the wire and the cac will run but u wont have no security or some web sites have a thing that u can can buy called passed key that will fix it

What grade of gasoline does a 2001 De Ville require?
Per the owner's manual: "Use regular unleaded gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher. However for best performance and for trailer towing, you may wish to use middle grade or premium unleaded gasoline." GM sure covers all the bases. I've had no problems using regular grade in mine. All 2000-up Northstars can use 87 octane gas. I run 93 since it can give an extra edge if you are driving the car hard like I do. But for casual driving, 87 is fine. My 2000 Deville knocks a little on 87 octane. Instead of buying premium 91 octane, I fill up and leave about three gallons to spare. Then for the remaining 3 gallons, I add E-85 ethanol. It is 105 octane and the car runs great on this mixture. You should not add any more than a 50% mixture of this to your gas as it will confuse the O2 sensor and cause a check engine light. E-85 is corrosive to a non FFV (flex fuel vehicle) but at this mixture, you will be fine and if the check engine light comes on, simply put a little more 87 octane in. For more info on E-85 go to www.e-85.com or www.alcohol4fuel.com
Your 1992 cadillac deville wont start whats the problem?
First you need to give a little more info. Will engine crank or not, is engine getting fuel.
On the right hand side of the display there are 3 buttons. One info, one off and on and one info reset button. Hold down the up arrow on the info button, at the SAME TIME as the on off button. Hold it for approx 3 seconds. All the lights will light up for a couple seconds, then everything will go dark for a couple more seconds. The display will come back on as normal and display "ALL?". I highly recommend you have pen and paper and write ALL codes down. You should not ignore your engine light(s) or serious damage could result. After all codes display, it will ask you "ALL CLEAR CODES?". PLEASE research your codes though!
actually i will bet that the sound is comming from the crosslink bar that goes between the right and left a frames. it has long links on the end of it. those ball type joints wear out. try getting under the car and banging the bar hard with your palm. do you hear the noise? this drove me crazy for a long time. i always thought the noise was comming from the rear.
