it may be your egr flow that's connected to your egr valve. my car has that problem right now! its a Honda 98 accord v6.
What could cause a 2006 Chevy Malibu to vibrate in park?
If it's a severe vibration, expect a bad mount. If it's very slight, that might just be normal operation of the reciprocating engine.
check cap and rotor..... check valve clearance "cold"
Vibration while driving on Ford Explorer?
there are lots of reason while vehicle vibrates while driving,
for your truck, ford explorer.
>check your tire inflation and roundness, and date of manufacture.
rubber expires in time, rubber tires sitting for a long time even with correct tire pressure when you left it will slowly deform shape/roundness.
>check engine for any misfiring cylinders,
misfiring can cause vibration not only on engine but also on the whole vehicle.
>check center bearing of propller shaft if so equipped, worn out center-bearing bushing will throw proppler out of balance resulting also for vehicle vibration.
>check shock absorbers for leaks
>check tie rods and ball joints if vibration is felt on you steering with the combination of
as you hit rough surface of the roads.
>check engine support/mountings.. rubber insulator that holds your engine to the frame /chasis
>check transmission mountings
Why would car wobble but not steering wheel?
More than likely your tires need balanced. or you have a cord busted in a tire. Bent rim could cause it, or sometimes even just some mud caked to the back of a rim could throw it out of balance
What if you get no link on engine code reader?
If no lights are coming on the dashboard and depending on the vibrations. Could be a motor mount.
Can a cracked motor mount wreck the transmission?
Yes, but it's extremely rare. Well, rare unless you have a PT Cruiser, Neon or GM 3800 car. On those three it's um...well...normal consequences of neglect.
Otherwise, verify that all engine mounts, transmission mounts, and cradle mounts (cradle mounts on FWD only) are in good condition. On RWD/IRS differential mountings should be checked, and on anything with CV joints, check for puled apart CV joint.
Oh yeah, Honda FWD with 5-speed automatic, you can break the final drive bearings if you keep driving it with bad mounts, yes.
Also, if the mounts are broken, it can lead to a kinked or broken transmission fluid cooler hose/pipe which can lead to overheating and eventual tranny damage, yes, but you'd have to be severely neglectful for that to happen. If this is the case, you should always be driving on a 2-year lease of a new vehicle or change your maintenance habits.
Where should I check if I hit curb on the freeway with 65 mph?
Take your vehicle to a place that sells tires and does front end alignments. Have the wheel and tire that hit the curb inspected for damage. Tell them what happened and have the steering and suspension parts inspected for any damage. Have a front end alignment performed for sure. If I hit a curb at 65 mph I would be very suspect that that tire was damaged and would consider replacing that tire no matter if it looked good or not. The safety of you and your family may be in danger with that tire on the car. It all depends on how hard you hit the curb and only you know that.
A flashing service light (called a MIL or malfunction indicator lamp) indicates misfiring has been detected. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR $$$$$. Get the misfiring repaired, could be bad coil or coil packs, bad wires, bad plugs. Driving with misfire can destroy the catalytic converter.
check cv axles. the axle is bad, out of balance. They may not click like you usually have when they are bad.
This happens on acceleration only and will go away when you let off of the gas . replace both, or play one at a time. Chances are they are the factory originals.
Why would your steering wheel shake?
A shaking steering wheel can indicate many things, most of which are related to the tires of the vehicle.
It could mean that a tire was not held flush to the wheel the last time it was changed, which could be corrected just by reapplying that tire correctly.
It might also indicate a tire rim is bent, which you can check by jacking up the vehicle, spinning each wheel by hand, and checking to be sure that each tire spins straight. If any sideways motion, the tire should be replaced.
If it only happens at average highway speeds or higher (not low speeds), it might indicate tires are out of balance, which is due to some having more wear than others. A professional tire rotation can be done to correct this, and tires that are too worn, leaving inadequate tread depth, should be replaced.
Another and more serious cause of a steering wheel shaking, or if the car itself seem like it's bouncing, could be a faulty tire, in which the tread piece (the portion that touches the ground) is no longer fully attached to the base or sidewalls. This should be corrected with tire replacement quickly because of the dangers of accidents and loss of vehicle control that can be caused by losing a tire tread while the vehicle is in motion.
If the steering wheel shakes only while braking, that would indicate a problem with the rotors of the vehicle, in which one of the rotors was mounted tighter than others. Correcting that problem would require professional mechanical service.
If the rate of shaking increases as the speed of the car increases, it could mean problems with other parts of the vehicle, such as need for replacement of the ball joints, tie rods, upper strut bearings, or shock absorbers.
there is a loose belt probably a fan belt depending on the engine it might be the belt that runs to your alternator either way you need to tighten to make the screetch stop..
Or... It could be your water pump going out. They screech too.
I feel shaking in my stearing wheel when i apply my brakes?
Dude your front brake disks are probably warped or cracked, you'll probably need to fully replace them
It could be as simple as a wheel balance problem. Jack up each wheel and examine the inside for mud and debris. There could have been evenly distributed mud before the car wash but some of it could have been washed away leaving the wheel unbalanced.
It's also possible that you knocked off a wheel weight and now the tires are out of balance.
If the spark plugs and wires were replaced and the car is still shaking what else could be wrong?
First guess would be that you crossed a couple of plug wires and got the firing order off. Check to make sure you got the plug wires connected to the correct plugs.
Why is car making a loud screeching noise when starting car or when idle or at stop lights?
you have a bad alternater or belt
Plug a code scanner into the OBD and find out if any computer codes are stored. You could have an injector problem, a dirty air filter, bad plugs, bad plug wires or any of a number of other problems. The computer code will give you a little direction, even if it doesn't show any stored codes. Without stored codes it tells you what ISN'T wrong.
The 5.4 liter Triton Engine has a coil for each cylinder, located over the spark plug of each cylinder.
fords truck firing order on the passanger side 1 2 3 4 on the driver 5 6 7 8 kinda stupid
The above is how the cylinders are numbered in the engine; front to back on the passenger side bank (1 2 3 4) and front to back on the driver side bank (5 6 7 8). The actual firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.
What will cause wheel wobble on cars?
Your front wheels have probably become unbalanced due to losing a lead weight clipped to the rim or you have changed a wheel following a puncture. They need to be removed and balanced at a tyre centre.
It could be your wheel. Put it on a balancer and just hand turn it. You can see the bent area if it is too wide to see with your naked eye.
Why does my car shake while idoling?
Vacuum leak is one cause.
-----
Another possible cause may be a bad Idle Air Control Valve (IAC Valve).
Your car should Idle, once the engine is at operating temperature, between 680-750 RPM. If the engine idles below this range with no appliances on, i.e. Air Conditioning, Fan or Window Heat, then your IAC Valve may have gone bad.
