Car Shaking Problems

At what speed? Where do you feel it, in steering wheel or seat? Any relationship to using the brakes? If you use a tire shop, they can figure it out for sure. More than likely tire balance or a bad tire or tire(s). Tell me more and I can help for sure.

It's difficult to get a feel for what you mean when you say your engine shakes. Do you mean a regular shake? If that's the case it might be a bad valve, sparkplug, plug wire or injector. If you mean that the engine moves quite a distance when you put it in reverse, but then comes back, it could be a motor mount. Probably your steering is out of alignment; or maybe a bent axle or wheelbase.

Most likely the front wheel balance is at 40-50 and the rear wheel is at 60-65

Check these first at a good tyre dealer. Also check wheel alignment.

NEW ANSWER: You need to check the driveshaft U-JOINTS for wear. If you don't find your problem there, Then you may have to get the wheels balanced. Check U-Joints FIRST.

If it doesn't crank, then it will be the starter, or ignition switch. It might have a bad starter

you also might have a bad alternator one of these 3 would be my first guess Also be sure to check the starter fuse located in the fuse box under the hood, probley near the battery, there will be a digram under the cover of the fuse box. If you pull the fuse and its black or brown in the middle then it burnt out. this s your cheapest fix. If it happens again, take it to a shop and have them look for a wire short. You most likely have cylinder misfire. Check your ignition coils and spark plugs.

Because your making right turns going too fast.

Your front end may also be out of alignment. If the tires are wearing unevenly take it to a shop for an alignment.

A faulty PCV valve can certainly cause idling problems, especially after the engine has warmed.

That's most likely an engine misfire.

If so, misfires can be caused by quite a few different things:

If it's throttle body injected it's probably NOT a fuel problem but there's still a possibility.

* It COULD be electrical (spark) in which case it's possible that it's something like a coil pack, distributor cap, plug wire or sparkplug. * It COULD be a sticking or burned valve. Now you just have to find out which.

Only at low speeds, or worst at low speeds? Either way it's probably a bad front tire. Failing that, bad front wheel rim or front wheel rim not properly secured to the hub.

it may be your egr flow that's connected to your egr valve. my car has that problem right now! its a Honda 98 accord v6.

If it's a severe vibration, expect a bad mount. If it's very slight, that might just be normal operation of the reciprocating engine.

rubber expires in time, rubber tires sitting for a long time even with correct tire pressure when you left it will slowly deform shape/roundness.

More than likely your tires need balanced. or you have a cord busted in a tire. Bent rim could cause it, or sometimes even just some mud caked to the back of a rim could throw it out of balance

Yes, but it's extremely rare. Well, rare unless you have a PT Cruiser, Neon or GM 3800 car. On those three it's um...well...normal consequences of neglect.

Otherwise, verify that all engine mounts, transmission mounts, and cradle mounts (cradle mounts on FWD only) are in good condition. On RWD/IRS differential mountings should be checked, and on anything with CV joints, check for puled apart CV joint.

Oh yeah, Honda FWD with 5-speed automatic, you can break the final drive bearings if you keep driving it with bad mounts, yes.

Also, if the mounts are broken, it can lead to a kinked or broken transmission fluid cooler hose/pipe which can lead to overheating and eventual tranny damage, yes, but you'd have to be severely neglectful for that to happen. If this is the case, you should always be driving on a 2-year lease of a new vehicle or change your maintenance habits.

Take your vehicle to a place that sells tires and does front end alignments. Have the wheel and tire that hit the curb inspected for damage. Tell them what happened and have the steering and suspension parts inspected for any damage. Have a front end alignment performed for sure. If I hit a curb at 65 mph I would be very suspect that that tire was damaged and would consider replacing that tire no matter if it looked good or not. The safety of you and your family may be in danger with that tire on the car. It all depends on how hard you hit the curb and only you know that.

Carburator problems -- dirty gas -- water in gas

A flashing service light (called a MIL or malfunction indicator lamp) indicates misfiring has been detected. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR $$$$$. Get the misfiring repaired, could be bad coil or coil packs, bad wires, bad plugs. Driving with misfire can destroy the catalytic converter.
