It means that the amplitude of the soundwaves is increased, or is increasing if the sound continues to get louder.
If it squeaks while it moves but not while it's at idle then the squeaks are body or suspension noise.
What would cause a sound like an airplane is taking off at the back of your car?
It's almost always a wheel bearing that would cause that noise.

What is causing a clicking noise coming from the top side of the motor?
Most probably a loose tappet. Check the valve clearances. Or a valve could be sticking in its guide. If the lifters are hydraulic (unlikely on older cars) they might be gummed up. A good flushing oil will clear sticking valve and lifter problems.
What causes a woo noise under my 2004 kia sedona mid-car?
I have a 02 Sedona and I think I'm getting the same noise. It happens when you are driving and it sounds kind of like one of those slide whistles. I think it only happens when the A/C is on so that leads me to believe it is a vent or something that automatically opens and closes. Or maybe it's a ghost.
i also have an 04 sedona, and i frequently get noise which seems to come from the a/c heater motor.
I had that problem also on my 2004 Sedona EX and had it repaired at dealer. They replaced the rear AC purge/evaporator. Thank god for the warranty! They told me the noise complaints are similar to a ghost, siren, or motorcyle accellerating noise.
What is the whining noise with acceleration caused by?
Well, with such a question as this (no details as to where the sound seems to come from,) there are a couple usual answers for this. If you have a turbo charged (or otherwise forced induction engine), that would be the loudest whine under acceleration. If not, most probably your transmission the gears and other parts of the clutch system will rub together and make a slight whining noise, especially when the motor/transmission is cold. The tranny fluid is more viscous, thus the parts are working that little bit harder to move.
What would cause thumping and judder from rear at 50 mph to 60 mph?
Wheel balance, tired shock absorbers or a bad tire due to belt separation.
Dirty brake pads could cause a car to make a squeaking noise when putting the car in gear or when releasing the brakes. Cleaning, sanding, or replacing the brake pads should make the sound stop.
have found that a ticking noise on the passenger side (under the dash) in the heater b5pdox (you can feel the vibration) on a 1997 town car is probably a vaccumn control switch.
Your car starts all of the time but makes a clicking sound for a second after when cold Why?
It could be hydraulic lifters that have collapsed overnight and need a little oil pressure to get them working properly again. If that's all it is, don't worry.

What causes the steering to make sounds when turning?
It is most likely going to be the power steering fluid. Usually when your power steering fluid is low, the car will make a groaning or whining sound. Hope this helps!
i have the same problem on my 98. It sounds to me like the viscous clutch pack is sticking. Try driving around in figure 8's for about 15 minutes and see if that helps and if there is snow were you are do some power donuts in both directions and it should loosen up.Subaru said that you can jack up one side of the vehicle so that both wheels are off the ground and then block the other wheels, put in drive and then bring it up to 1500 rpm for about 8 minutes and that should loosen it up aswell but it doesnt sound very safe to me so i havent tried that yet but if you do and it works please post it thx and i hope that is your problem. If not it could be a wheel bearing or an axle.
The most likely reason is that the passenger side CV joint is worn out, and needs to be replaced.
What is a grinding noise coming from the right front of a 1998 Ford Windstar?
Possibly wheel bearing, brakes, CV joints. These vehicles are noted for creeking tie rod ends. Greasable replacements are available. Another possibility: I replaced perfectly good brake pads on my 2001 only to find the grinding was still there! :( The true cause: bad rotors! I did not bother with a resurfacing to see if that would resolve it - just did replacements.
What do you hook the amplifier wire in the back of your CD player up to so it works?
if it's an aftermarket CD player look for a blue wire with a yellow stripe. if it's stock you need to find the power antenna wire. most decks have 1 even if you don't have a power antenna.
Cracked Fly Wheel
Why is there a knocking sound coming from the drivers side when going over bumps?
I just had the same problem but on the passenger side. My mechanic replaced the sway bar and now the knock is gone.
112 dollars parts and labor. So, find a good mechanic that will look out for you in that price range.
i changed my spark plug and wire, and now the car is stuttering. what can cause this?
It could be loose lug nuts, CV joints, U-joints, wheel bearing, bad tire or any number of problems not mentioned. But start with the above, in the order mentioned. If your car isn't front wheel drive, it doesn't have CV joints. If it IS front wheel drive it doesn't have U joints.
