Make sure to stretch before and after exercise, it reduces the lactic acid in the muscles reducing soreness. If it's soreness from the rebuilding of muscle then it's fine but if it's soreness due to injury then don't exercise without consent of a doctor.
This depends...
If you have longer legs you can take less steps to complete a mile. It all depends on your stride. A stride is how many feet or inches you walk each time you take a step. Shorter or younger people take smaller strides than taller people.
If you have a standard 30" military stride, then there are about 2,112 steps in a mile.
What are the psychological responses to extreme physical exhaustion?
Intolerance, distraction, semiconscious awareness of vulnerability both physical and psychological, extreme irritability, outbursts of uncontrolled emotion due to the physical strain brought on by the body feeling completely flattened causing incapability when dealing with the rational and emotive spheres.
In severe cases, unusual reactivity to climate, such as cold and heat, as the body would have difficulty regulating temperature (most likely keeping warm), as well as slowed reflexes causing both physical and mental "clumsiness". Loud sounds aggravate and are found very disturbing(annoying)and a general feeling of sluggishness as well as difficulty performing complex logic problems is to be expected-
at the same time, a state of utter exhaustion in individuals has shown that due to the low threshold toward tolerating consequences easily perceived as stressful, focusing on one given task could bring about more productive results than if the person was in form and could deal with any kind of consequence (the need to problem-solve later, or accept negative feedback for example).
Ex: A student who regularly practices the piano could become fully absorbed in the task not having the psychological strength to focus on more than one thought simultaneously, and suddenly shock the teacher with a fantastic performance even though he can't keep his eyelids open and did not practice at all since his last lesson. T
he reason for this would also be simple: due to the emotional instability and zero tolerance for basically everything, consciously OR not- depending on the person, the student would need to get the performance perfect on the first try or the teacher would make him repeat it several times, pointing out defects and instructing him on how to improve, something the student would not want to listen to or have the clarity of mind to care about in his present state of tiredness.
Hope that helped a bit.

How long does it take to lose 110 pounds if you are 5' 4 and weigh 250 pounds?
I would say it depends on how you diet and how active you are. A few years ago I lost 45 pounds in 10 weeks. I'm 5'7" & at the start I weighed 193 lbs & got under 150 lbs at the end. I stayed on a relatively strict diet keeping carb grams at or under 65 per day, ate a lot of proteins & balanced everything out over 6 meals per day. At any one meal, my protein intake did not exceed 3 oz. A key to my success is that I also am a very active swimmer and worked out vigorously in the pool for an hour, about 5 to 6 days per week.
I also occasionally did a treadmill workout trying to keep my heart rate at about 65% of maximum for a prolonged period of time. On this I eventually worked up to 1 hour sessions. Even walking is a good way to burn calories. I was often hungry & if I wanted to cheat, I ate some kind of small portion of protein. If you are inclined to cheat, stay away from breads, cheese etc as these are very good at defeating any diet, but my cheating was minimal and, as I got into the diet, my periods of being hungry lessened.
That all said, my guess on losing 110 lbs might be a good 6 months or more if you stay focused on the diet, don't cheat, & get some kind of regular exercise for an hour, 5 or 6 days per week. The upside is, if you do it, how much fun it is to fit into smaller cloths. When my weight is down, I also look younger - an added benefit for someone in their 50's. Also - I am diabetic, have high blood pressure, & high cholesterol - I take daily medication for each of these. With the weight off, my medication doses are reduced or even eliminated - all a good thing.

Difference between residual weakness and generalized weakness?
Well think about it. Residual is the left over of something. In this case the precipitating factor (i.e. surgery, procedure, illness, disease exacerbation).
Residual Weakness would be the weakness experienced after a surgery, procedure, etc.
General Weakness (also generalized weakness) is the description of symptoms of weakness (lethargy, poor balance, inability to ambulate, etc.) and is thus not a dx but rather a symptom as factors cause weakness and humans are generally not weak unless something is causing it such as (diabetes, obesity, Parkinson's).
You probably wont find a Icd9 code for it as its a symptom (v code) and a very general one at that.

What is the bio-mechanics in aerobic exercise?
As you work out, your body needs more energy. It takes more oxygen and nutrients from your blood, so your blood must move more to continue to supply your body with the resources it needs. This means your heart needs to pump harder, and just like when you lift weights your arm muscles get stronger, when your heart pumps harder its muscles get stronger. So people who have good cardio fitness have a heart that is very strong and can easily pump a lot of blood when you need it.

What is the best way to lose 40 pounds if you are 55 and borderline diabetic?
i lost 43 pounds by doing jenny craige and using a 2 mile walking tape i did the tape 4 times a week and no matter what 1 day a week i ate anything i wanted and it only took me 8 weeks but, the food was expensive but it was so worth it. everything else failed but this worked all you have to do is try 1 week and you will drop a few lbs. Have to be honest the first week is the hardest after that it does get addictive because the weight comes off so quick and you can splurge 1 day a week and you still lose. The best and most long-term weight loss can be achieved by following a low glycemic index (GI) pattern of eating. This isn't just another diet, but a scientific and safe way to keep blood sugars and thus weight stable. You learn how to eat foods that will not produce spikes in blood sugars that cause you to store fat, release too much insulin and feel hungry more often. When combined with an exercise routine - short sessions being better than long ones - it can significantly reduce weight. It also will decrease the chances of pre-diabetes turning to diabetes as the pancreas is not stressed. The Related Links below gives some information on low GI eating. I have found the medifast diet to be amazing. i lost a lot of weight safely.
