The expensive part is placing an IV catheter, using a sedative and disposing of the body (which is classified as medical waste or a biohazard).

Whatever you do, don't leave the cat to suffer and don't try to euthanize yourself - it takes training to euthanize any animal with a minimum of pain or excitement.

My primary concern in a cat would be a saddle thrombus in which a blood clot at the end of the spine is cutting off blood circulation to the back legs. This is a medical emergency that can result in hind leg paralysis or death if not treated by a veterinarian very soon.

Excessive water drinking can be a sign of diabetes in cats and dogs. Discuss it with your vet. Neutering has absolutely nothing to do with it. The cat is simply marking its territory. When cats spray, they leave a scent that warns approachers that the spray site is his property. To stop it, buy a cat pheromone and plug it in (it's like an air freshener you plug into an outlet) where he frequently sprays. He may be spraying becuase he is re-enforcing his claim because of a threat, like a dog, child, or frequent trespasser. The pheromone will calm him down when he comes near, and may not spray. Aslo, place more litter boxes throughout the house in areas that are private, uninterrupted, quiet and easily accessable. Show him these places and he might use them. Hope this helps!

Could be many things, something as preventable as a flea bite, or a tick stuck in there. Also something that needs to treated by a veterinarian like ringworm (it's a type of fungi) that will keep growing if not treated.
