1992 Chevrolet Cavalier 3.1 cranks no start?

You need to start with some basic trouble shooting. Turn on the key and check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. There's a Schrader valve on the fuel rail. Looks like a large tire valve stem. Just to see if you are getting fuel use a small screw driver etc to push the stem down. Be VERY careful doing this as the fuel is pressurized and will spray all over the place. If you have fuel there then you need to check for spark at the plugs. If you have no spark it could be several things. Bad ICM, coils, crankshaft position sensor, etc. On the up side, the ICM can be tested at AutoZone for free. Pick up a Chilton's or Haynes. They have a lot of information on how to test the various sensors using nothing more than a good multimeter. These cars also have the fuel pump wired through the oil pressure sending unit. If there is no oil pressure registering, or the sending unit is bad or has been unplugged the fuel pump will not operate other than the few seconds it primes when the key is turned on.

Why would dash lights stay on when car is off on a 2003 Chevy cavalier?

How do i get 96 Chevy Cavalier to not misfire?

I would first suspect the coil pack or the plug wires that lead to the misfiring cylinder. On the 2.4L check the coil housing carfully. It has metal strips that can burn in half.Could be spark plugs, or low cylinder compression, or low fuel pressure, or vacume leak, or leaking EGR valve, or faulty fuel injector, or burnt valves. If you can add to this list, please do....good luck with the problem.

1999 Chevy Cavalier started blowing hot air freon is fine and ac compressor is coming on what else could it be?

It could be that the temp. control cable has become disconnected from the flap that diverts the air flow from the evaporator to the heater core.(which is most likely the problem) Or the flap itself has stuck/broken. Or maybe the A/C system has become stopped-up at some point. Maybe at the orifice tube(the screen may have blown out or cracked). Check the pressure on the low side AND the high side. If the pressure is excessively high on the high side it will probably be the orifice tube clogged up. But I would ckeck that the temp. control cable and flap is operating correctly. Disconnect it from the control assembly and operate it by hand, you can tell if the flap is opening and closing much easier.

What size of torx bit is needed to change front wheel bearing on2000 cavalier?

A T-55 torx bit is correct size. However do yourself a favor by using plenty of penetrating oil first. It is best to spray and let sit for at least a few hours before trying to remove these without damage to the torx bolt. Especially cars from northern states. This is a M12x1.75 bolt in case you break it or have to cut it off. I would say if they are frozen on and won’t remove with the torx.... stop and weld a hardened nut on top of the torx head then remove. These can be a mother to remove especially in the north with rust and 2 decades of being on the vehicle.

hope this helps you out.... be patient !

and all will be ok.

Where do you find the air conditioner relay on a 1994 Cavalier Z24?

Try the passenger side quarter panel. I have a 94 Cav. and that's where they are. Use autozone.com and put in all your veh. information. Look for component locations on the left side of the screen, not the right-it's for sensors. I can't remember which frame has this, but vacumn diagrams are located in the same frame. Also, my AC relay is located in a 3way mount, with the blower relay, and fuel pump relay. Good Luck

The ETS light on your 96 sunfire wont turn off how do you fix this im not sure if the ETS is on or just the light?

If you have not turned the traction control off, then you should take it to the dealer so that they can diagnose the problem. This is not something that you can do without all of the special equipment needed to test the system. Also it will be cheaper than guessing and possibly replacing the wrong parts.

How do you replace timing belt on a 1998 Chevy Cavalier Z24?

If it is like the older 4cyl motors, you would need to take off the timing belt which drives it...not that small of a job The Cavalier 2.4L DOHC does not have a timing belt. It has a timing chain that circles inside that flat cover on the passenger side of the engine. It goes around the crankshaft gear, water pump gear, exaust gear, intake gear, in that order. Its not hard if you know how to do it,BUT you MUST know how to do it. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR MISTAKES... So ask people and study.

First check the fuses under the hood there is a 10a fuse for the computer. Pull them all and reinsert them to be sure there is good contact. Then check the fuses inside the car. If still no spark, have the ICM checked at a auto parts store. If the ICM is bad you can get one on eBay A LOT cheaper than anywhere else.
