How do you put new serpentine belt on 1997 Chevy cavalier z24?

Just looking at it it seems like from the top...but I find it much easier from the passenger side wheel weld. Remove the wheel, then front half of the splash guard. Put belt over alternator, then A/C, then crank pully. Have friend put finger on alt. so the belt don't come off. Then push belt almost on the spring tensioner pully, put 13mm (or 15mm wrench cant remember which)on spring pully bolt, pull down on wrench and slip the belt over the spring pully, release the wrench. Takes 30 seconds after you get the wheel off and splah shield removed. But it can be done from the top,it just ain't easy.

How do you fix a 1991 Chevy cavalier Z24 it starts but when you put in gear it stalls?

This can be a number of things. What comes to mind first is, if this is an A/T you may have a bad lock-up torque converter, or the solenoid is stuck. If the engine runs and idles great until you put it in drive, this would be my guess.

How do you replace the front turn signal bulb located on a 1994 Chevy Cavalier?

If it is a front bulb, sometimes you can get to the bulb and remove it by turning it counterclockwise. If it is the rear you have to remove the housing and then remove the bulb.

Remove the (4) 7mm Hex screws that fasten the wheel well liner. Pull the liner back as needed. Then reach in and remove the bulb by twisting the connector to release the connector and bulb from the turn signal housing. Pull the connector back towards you and replace the bulb.

If you are referring to the parking brake...they are suppose to, but both, the left and the right side should pull down. The adjuster inside the drum my have stuck and needs some lube on the threads. How do you start your 1997 Pontiac Grand Am if the key will not turn on the ignition because of the anti theft alarm system?

I have a 96 grand am that done the same thing. If your out and stuck and really need the car started take a screwdriver and kick the starter in yourself under the hood. Car needs to be in neutral. this is the only way ours would start. Re-cap.. I have the same car and when your theft system light comes on what you will need to do is put your car in the on position (do not turn over, just leave in the position) and leave it there for 10-15 minutes. In that time you will continue to see the light blinking, but after the 10-15 minutes, the light will stay lit instead of blinking. That shows you that your computer has been reset and you will now be able to turn on your car. Hope this helps!

Why would one windshield wiper stop working but not the other on a 2004 Chevy cavalier?

I have a 2005 cavalier - under the windshield guard one of the windshied arm has broker off or dislodge. I don't have a permanent fix,but you just can re-attached the arms and it may stay on for a whileActually, if you take the motor and the wiper rack off the vehicle and drill a small hole through the centre of the metal ball that the plastic grommet attaches to, you can then set the plastic grommet back on the ball and drill back through the hole in the metal and through the plastic grommet. Enlarge the hole in the plastic grommet slightly and then attach the two together using an appropriate sized screw with a locking nut. Use a small washer at the top and the bottom of the screw and nut assembly and smear some grease on in to keep the new joint lubricated. Put the unit back in the car and you're good to go. I've done it on the Cavalier and my Ford truck and they're both working fine now....probably better than new, seeing as the plastic tends to wear easily. Suppose that's why they use plastic....to spend hundreds of dollars to buy their new parts !! Good luck with your repairs !!!
