In a Chevy Cavalier, you put the brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir located atop the master cylinder. You can find this under the hood, on the drivers side, near the back firewall on top.

take the plastic cover guard off and it is 2 bolts right on top take them out and it is free

The vacuum lines for a 2000 Cavalier are located all over the engine bay and under the dash. A break in any line can cause rough running.

1-3-4-2 is the firing order. Coil on the left is 4 then 1. Coil on the right is 3 then 2.

185 to 260 ft lbs this is the front center nut that holds axle and front wheel bearing together not wheel lug nuts

first you need to check for any vaccum leaks. If no leaks are found look too the IAC ( idle air control ) some times you can tap on the IAC while the engine is running causing a change in the idle if so you should change the IAC.

That light is a warning that your engine coolant is low. Check your expansion tank for the proper level and fill as necessary.

Replace the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. Replace the air filter. Replace the oil and oil filter. Replace the fuel filter.

A bad ignition module will cause a no start situation in a vehicle because the needed spark is not created. It is responsible for telling the distributor when to fire.

First you need to disconnect negative battery cable.

Then drain the radiator and pull the heater hoses. You'll also need to pull out the condensation tube.

The heater core sits directly behind the radio/heater controls. The housing cover for it is tucked behind the glove box, the steering column panel, and the vent housing. So they will need removed first to gain access to the housing.

Although a couple of the screws that hold the housing cover on are in some tight spaces a little patience will pull you through. One of them is right by the firewall behind the gas pedal.

The cover is epoxied to the firewall so you gotta be careful not to break it while prying it off. Once that is removed there are two metal straps that hold the heater core in. Remove those and pull the old one out.

Installation is pretty much reverse, except we hooked up the hoses before mounting the heater core. It gives you more of the inlet/outlet tubes to work with while putting the hoses back on.

Overall not a hard job at all. It took me and 1 other guy about 3 hours front to back, taking our time with a lot of breaks in between.

I have a 98 Z24 cavalier and ran into this problem. I had in diagnosed and was told it was a #2 oxygen sensor located underneath towards the rear on exhaust pipe. Be sure if you do this yourself to disconnect the negative on the battery before you start. I wasn't told this and my car sputtered 3x worse than in was and had to do the whole procedure over again and then some just to get it to run half ways normal again!

First, disconnect the negative battery cable, and the instrument panel. Drain the cooling system before you raise the vehicle and disconnect the heater core. Remember to dispose of the drained fluid and return every component to its right place.

Disconnect the Cavaliers battery. Take the wiring off of the starter, then unbolt it. Take the starter off, then bolt up the new one. Connect the wiring then reconnect the battery.

Turn the bleeder screw on the caliber 1/4 turn and then apply pressure to the caliber piston. It should go back easily try using a c clamp to apply presure.

you must first insert the key into the ignition. Then turn the ignition clockwise to the accessory position. Underneatch the key slot on the ignition there should be a small pin hole. Use a small pin or paper clip to depress the spring loaded pin in the small hole. Once the pin has been depressed turn the ingition counter clockwise as far as it will go. The ignition should disengage and slide out.

The final year for the production of the Chevrolet Cavalier was 2005. Exact capacities will vary by model year and engine option. For model year 2005 the coolant capacity for the 2.2L 4-cylinder was 8.7 quarts.

If you have a key fob not in the car you can unlock the car with that but unfortunately most people keep a fob with the keys. Otherwise you probably need a locksmith.

Note:The drivebelt routing decal on the radiator shroud to help during drivebelt install * To replace the belt rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise to release belt tension * Remove the belt from the auxiliary components and slowly release the tensioner * Route the new belt over the various pulleys again rotating the tensioner to allow the belt to be installed then release the belt tensioner

There is a clip on the front of the knob. Pry it out with a screwdriver.

Something is wrong with your A/C. I would not consider repairing an A/C on my own. You need to go to a specialized shop. Your A/C may be leaking gas. If the gas leak is minimal, you may decide to refill it witout fixing it. But in most of the cases you'll want to fix that leak. Something may also be wrong with the electronics in your A/C system. Or if you're lucky, it may simply be that the A/C fuse has blown. So, check the fuse, and if it's ok, have a professional look at the problem.

It's a real pain. If you have access to a hoist, the easiest way to do it is to disconnect the steering shaft and lower the rear of the sub-frame to get access to the fittings on the steering rack. Had to do this once because the loop in the line used as a cooler rusted out.

The fluid expands when it heats up. You need that extra space for expansion.If it is filled to the top,something has to give. Maybe a seal in the rack and pinion. VERY COSTLY.... So just suck some out with a straw or a piece of hose.But be careful, it dont taste very good.

I replaced my 1995 S10 2.2 engine with a 2.2 cavalier engine and it worked fine.
