Does your child become a state resident at birth?

No, you don't automatically become an American citazen if your child is born in America. Actually you can be deported at any time to the government you came from. All because you filed a form uncorrectly, don't have a visa, don't have promission to work in the country, didn't go through the proper systems of paperwork, didn't read the proper books, didn't sign the proper trade agreements, didn't register yourself as the child's parent, didn't apply for citazenship before your child was born, or after. Didn't work properly and didn't obey the rules government standerds as well as country or county or state you were living in the current time.

By the way, your child would be an American citazen, just not of the United States Of America. Well depends if they were born in the North or South, what were the circumstances of their birth, can they rise above those by taking a test that all Americans should know. I do not like illegal immigration for this very reason, its unsenseable, cruel as well as very sly and cunning.

How long a parent can legally ground a child for?

Parents are responsible until the age of majority, which is 18, although in some states the child can choose to leave home at 17 and cannot be forced to return (a loophole created by state law allowing a child to go to jail at 17). Ina strange twist, in those states (like Georgia) should the child leave at 17, the parents are legally responsible for some of their actions until 18.

Do you have to pay back child support if the kids are grown and the ex wife is dead?

If your children are no longer minors then you don't have to pay child support. However, if a written document was set-up previously that you also pay support for a college education then you have to fulfill this obligation. If you ex-wife left you in her Will (doubtful) she should have stipulations as to what the children will receive from the Estate and this too is an obligation and carried out by an Executor (male), Executrix (female.) The back child support is owed to the estate of the ex wife. She funded the children without that support, robbing them ofmoney that should have been in the estate. If I were the attorney representing her estate or the beneficiaries of that estate, I'd be knocking on your door with a court order!

How old do you have to be to play in Larp?

Age limit will depend on the type of LARP you play in.

Theater-Style LARPs often do not have an age limit per se, but may deal with very mature or adult content. This happens more often than not. In addition, young adults often do not understand the complexity of some rulesets; this can complicate things when trying to play in a simulated reality where messing up the rules is tantamount to cheating.

Live Combat LARPs have a hard and fast rule of 16 years of age, with parental consent (waiver, the whole nine yards). A few require you to be of adult age (18 in most States).

In the state of Florida what does it take for a 17 year old mother to get emancipated?

First, being a mother is irrelevant, because having a child does not emancipate a person. In Florida, at 16, a petition for emancipation can be filed with the court. In order for emancipation to be granted you would have to prove, among other things, that you are capable of fully supporting yourself and your child (rent, utilities, food, etc) *without any assistance* (note: they would likely consider child support to be legitimate income and not a form of assistance). Most likely, the judge would also require that you remain in school. You would have to convince the court that it's truly in your best interest to be emancipated. That means you must have legitimate, valid reasons. Just not getting along with your parents or wanting more freedom is not going to be enough. Here's a link with some emancipation info for the state of Florida (click on '743.015 Disabilities of nonage; removal'): http://www.flsenate.gov/statutes/index.cfm?App_modeCh0743/ch0743.htm EDIT: For some reason, the link won't copy right. Go to google and key in 'Florida Statutes 743.015 DISABILITY OF NONAGE OF MINORS REMOVED'

Can you change your birth certificate name?

It depends on your age and why you're changing your name. If it's for marriage, it's easy to just Google it for the process, as there are many agencies that you need to notify in order to change your name.

If you're changing your name for a reason other than marriage, you usually have to petition the court in your local area for a legal change of name. If you're under age, then it has to be originated by one of your parents or legal guardians, and both parents must agree to the change by signing the petition. After that, a judge reviews and approves / denies the request but it's rarely denied.

In any case, the Clerk of the Circuit Court in your County is probably the best place to start, as they'll have the forms for such a process, and they'll tell you what you need to do in order to accomplish it.

Can a non-custodial parent prevent the custodial parent from moving?

Generally yes. If the custodial parent moves away from the non-custodial parent, the custodial parent is ordered to make up the extra travel costs the non-custodial parent must now pay.

The principle gives freedom to move, but discourages long-distance moves. In particular it discourages moves that are designed to deny access to the non-custodial parent.

Can you legally leave school when you reach the age of 18 in Washington State?

No. You're eighteen and legally considered an adult now. You can do as you please. However, I suggest you check out the price of putting a roof over your own head, feeding yourself, etc. etc. etc. before you burn all your bridges. Life ain't cheap.

Can an out-of-state noncustodial parent request visitation rights from Georgia courts of a Florida child he has never seen?

Yes, in some cases and it's up to the courts. For instance: If the mother of the child was pregnant and didn't tell you and you just found out and want to get to know your child and support that child, then the courts will probably move in your favor. However, if you just didn't feel you had any responsibility towards your child and moved on with your life the courts won't look too kindly on you and you WILL have to pay child support as you should. Marcy

In Georgia if you are a pregnant 17-year-old with a 20-year-old boyfriend and you marry without your parents' permission are you automatically emancipated?

That's a bit young. And there are school attendance issues. And the issue of who - besides the state - might support you, jobs being limited for underage single mothers.

You will need to consult with an attorney in your area. Explain your situation and see what options you have. A youth runaway shelter may also have counselors to go over some things with you.

You may also wish - if it is possible - to stay with your parents. Raising a child is a difficult thing.

Can a pregnant 16-year-old marry the 20-year-old father of her baby without parental consent in West Virginia?

No. Under the West Virginia law, parental or guardian's consent is required for the party that is under age 18 for any marriage license to be issued. Under 16 can be authorized by a judge if the parents also agree.

Can you move out with a boyfriend at the age of 17 without your parent's permission?

In most states, the age of majority is 18 (in a few it's higher, but it's never lower). Every state considers someone who is 17 to be a minor. If you leave home without parental consent (or being officially emancipated in some manner) then your parents can report you as a runaway. Anyone who takes you in/assists you, could be facing charges for doing so. The exact charges would depend on the laws of your state, but some possible ones are: harboring a runaway, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, custodial interference, etc.
