Why does sunfire stall when in gear and clutch released?
Let's make sure we're using the same terminology here. When you use
the term "released", do you mean that the clutch pedal IS being depressed?
(thus disengaging the clutch)
This would effectively be the same as the car being in neutral.
How can you repair your clutch on your 1996 ford ranger the clutch came completely off the bracket?
I assume you mean the pedal came off. Did it break or did the retainer clip that holds the pedal on the shaft come off? It may just be a case of putting it back together and maybe a new C clip or cotter pin.
What does it mean when your clutch pedal sticks in?
Ether your bleeder is open or check that your slave cylinder doesn't have dirt in it. If its not that check your throw out bearing
How do you adjust clutch brake on eaton fuller?

Does a small engine flywheel need to be timed?
Yes, on the crankshaft there should be a "slot" called a keyway, and a matching slot on the flywheel, mate a key in the slot of the flywheel and crankshaft, and then your flywheel should be timed, also on a magneto ignition system, makesure the magneto has the proper gap, called "armature air gap" usualy if you put a buossness card in there is a good starting point
How do you fit a clutch cable on a 1995 Rover 218?
R65 type transmission. Remove the air cleaner. Working in the engine compartment slide the clutch cable and fitting from the clutch release lever on the top of the gearbox. Release the cable sheath grommet from the bracket on the gearbox. Working in the drivers footwell release the 3 securing clips and remove the fusebox cover. Release the securing clips and remove the driver's side lower fascia panel . Reach up behind the fascia and unhook the end of the clutch cable from the pedal. Working in the engine compartment pull the cable through the bulkhead. Note cable routing and release the cable from any other retaining clips. Refitting Lubricate the cable bulkhead bush with rubber grease. Route the cable through the engine compartment and throught the bulkhead. Working in the drivers footwell reconnect the cable to the foot pedal then push the rubber bush on the cable fully into the bulkhead tube until the steel washer on the cable seats on the tube. Pull the clutch lever through its full range of movement to set the cable self adjustment mechanism. PG1 type transmission Remove air cleaner. Jack up front of vehicle onto axle stands. Working in the engine compartment slide the clutch cable and fitting from the clutch release lever on the top of the gearbox. Release the cable sheath grommet from the bracket on the gearbox. On right hand drive models release the cable from the clip attached to the coolant hose. Rest as for R65
Is it dangerous when clutch slips?
It depends on your definition of "dangerous. There is inherent danger two ways. If the clutch does not engage enough to move the vehicle out of the way of a dangerous situation (impending collusion) and the situation develops, you could be injured or killed. Most likely the clutch will get worse and worse until the vehicle can not be driven (unless you coast down hill or have someone push you). As the clutch disk wears beyond a certain point the pressure plate and flywheel sustain damage also. A new clutch release bearing should be installed when the clutch is repaired.
What are steps to align clutch after motor swap on skidoo snowmobile?
you need to get a clutch alignment tool for the specific brand and set up you are using, it is usually a tool that drops over your primary clutch and slide just past the inner edge of the secondary clutch. (sort of looks like a flat "Z" shape hard to explain) Most manufactures want there engines to be twisted towards the front left shock (sitting on the machine) so that when the engine accelerates the clutches line up and the belt is straight. You will also need to measure the center to center distance as in the center of the primary clutch to the secondary clutch the is a spec for this for each manufacture. If your not exploding drive belts all the time the clutches are probably aligned in an acceptable way. If you are going through a lot of belts you should check the condition of your clutch for wear and if both are in good condition then do the alignment procedures.
have you removed the flywheel bolts? I've never used a flywheel puller, you shouldn't need one, theyre not a press fit.
You may have to let it sit over night, then tighten it some more as descirbed in this article. http://hubpages.com/hub/removing-outboard-flywheel

How do you bleed the clutch line on a 1999 Dodge Ram 3500 with out a bleed screw on either end?
Either you have to pull off the old clutch assembly(Master, slave cylinders, reservoir and the line),since its a factory sealed unit and replace with a new one or one from another vehicle, or , see if a parts store has the new ones out. The slave cylinder is the one with the bleeder valve. I have a 91 d150 Im trying to get the clutch to work in.

Why cant you get the clutch hydraulic system to push the fluid through the system?
Because it is full of air. Make sure that the clutch pedal is all the way up.
Then take the clutch master cylinder top off and remove the rubber cup that is inside of it and fill it with brake fluid, Now loosen the bleeder screew on the slave cylinder that's on the side of the transmission, It may take a few minutes but fluid will start to come out, Let it run out but keep the fluid leval full in the clutch master cylinder while it is running out. Let it run for a few minutes then tighten bleeder back up.
Install rubber cup and top, yes the fluid will run over but just poor water in the area were the fluid ran over. The water will rinse the fluid off. Now see if you have a good clutch pedal. You will need to work the pedal a few times. It will fill funny at first but it will come up. That's it you done.
changing the fluid on the transmission if it already has a problem might make the problem worse. you probably dont need a whole transmission. the one you have is fixable. it would be necessary to take the vehicle to your nearest transmission shop for further diagnosis to determine if the problem is internal or external. They might tell you that the transmission would have to be removed from the vehicle in order to determin the problem. if so, most shops offer to do this at a reasonable price.

How do you adjust the clutch linkage or cable on a 95 ford escort 1.9L?
There is no clutch linkage on this vehicle. It works from a slave cylinder. to adjust it simple turn the stop nut to the pressure you want then bleed the clutch. Do this by filling the clutch resivior with fluid then have a buddy pump the clutch six times. Locate the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder usually on top facing the transmission. loosin the bleeder n let fluid run till the peddle hits the floor tighten bleeder and repeat process till no air bubbles come out with the fluid.
Pre 1997/9 models of Ford Vehicles were self-adjusting via the clutch-foot-pedal. The pedal engages a ratchet system called the QUADRANT & PAWL and is part of the pedal. The mechanism is very similar on older Ford models of: Escort, Fiesta, Sierra, Granada, Transit & others. Newer vehicles may have a Hydraulic Clutch from 1997/9 onwards, and these work differently from the cable & pully mechanism. Clutch-fluid can be bled to improve the ability to operate the clutch, however this is not necessarily a method of adjusting the clutch.
If your reading this article because you have a broken clutch-pedal then please read on.
If when pressing the foot-pedal it feels like cable is broken, or pedal is loose, ...This is symptomatic of failure of the QUADRANT & PAWL 'ratchet' mechanism due to wear of teeth on the ratchet.
In some cases the pedal fails to pull the clutch out far enough to change gear, and may make a 'springing noise'. This is due to slippage on some worn ratchet-teeth, but the mechanism has not reached full failure. There are 2 ways to remedy the fault.
1. Change the Quadrant & Pawl, using only genuine Ford parts. #Beware of inferior mouldings that are not up to standard e.g. too soft, and do not trust 'pattern-parts' on eBay etc.
2. SHORTEN THE CABLE.

How do you replace a clutch brake on a peterbilt?
To replace the clutch brake on a peterbilt you have to remove the inspection cover on the bottom of the bell housing. You then have to determine whether you have a two piece or a one piece clutch brake. If it is original it is probably a one piece. A one piece will have to be cut off usually with a torch. Be careful because very hot grease can fall in your face. A two piece clutch brake has a hinged side and a push lock on the other. the side with the push lock can usually be released with a screw driver. If the transmission is not removed a two piece clutch brake will have to installed on the input shaft.
