How do you boot off a CD?

Turn off your computer and start it again. As soon as it begins to start, you should see the BIOS screen flash up. It usually has the name of the hardware manufacturer somewhere on it (such as intel, dell, gateway etc...). On it, it will display the function key that you may press to enter the boot config menu. It's usually F10, F11, or F12. Occasionally it will be F2. this screen will appear for a very short time so you will have to pay close attention. once in the boot config menu, it should be fairly simple. use the arrow keys to select your CD drive and be sure to save your changes when you exit. Your computer should then boot from the CD.

Maximum number of primary partitions on XP?

Wen you are talking about Partitions, you aren't talking about Windows, you are talking about the HDD(Hard Drive Disk). this is a "thing" on the HDD, not Windows. theoretically, you can have as many Partitions as you would like, provided you have the memory for it. Lets say you make a partition that is 5GB, and you install Windows XP on that Partition. Also, your HDD is 57GB. Windows cannot use any memory outside of that Partition. This means that, although you have a 57GB HDD, Windows can only use the 5GB you assigned it. A Partition is sort of like an HDD on an HDD. It can become very confusing. I hope tis helps.

Where is the CD drive on a NC10 Samsung laptop?

The Samsung NC10 does not include an optical drive of any kind. It is what is commonly called a "netbook", a trend started by Asus with the Eee PC line. The vast majority of these do not include a CD drive so that they can have a longer battery life and more compact size. You can access CD programs by sharing a drive over a network or connecting an external USB CD/DVD ROM drive.

Toshiba power up error F3-F200-0002?

Boot any bootable OS(with a partition manager) from a USB stick or DVD and reformat your HDD to NTFS, then try a clean install. Alternatively you could insert the HDD into another computer to reformat it, if you're not known with bootable operating systems.

If this does not work you might need to replace the HDD.

Should you upgrade the core 2 duo processor in your MacBook Pro or just upgrade the ram to 8 gb?

See, an RAM upgrade will give you the power to run more programs without any lag. If your current computer runs without hanging and you just want a speed boost then you may consider an upgrade in the processor. I recommend you to see Intel i3-3200 processor. It is much better then core2duo and not very expensive.

3 types of DMA transfer modes?

· Block transfer DMA controller takes the bus control by CPU. CPU has no access to bus until the transfer is complete. During this time CPU can perform internal operations that do not need bus. This is a common and popular method with modern microprocessors. · Cycle stealing This is a word-by-word transfer based on CPU cycle stealing. When DMA steals a cycle, CPU is stopped completely for one cycle. Cycle stealing is not an interrupt. CPU pauses for just one machine cycle. This type of transfer takes a period of time. Some major steps of DMA cycle stealing in order to transfer data to and form memory are: · DMA needs control of the CPU · DMA must use the bus only when the CPU does not need it · CPU is suspended by DMA just before it needs to use the bus · CPU pauses for one bus cycle · DMA transfers one words and then returns the control to CPU · The overall effect is to cause the CPU to execute more slowly · Interleaved DMA. It is similar to block transfer technique, here DMA controller takes the control of system bus only when CPU is not using it. For example, performing an ALU operation or incrementing a counter. The data transfer by this kind of method takes a period of time.

How can you clear all your virtual memory?

Windows handles the virtual memory and there really isn't a way to clear it. Virtual memory is stored on the hard drive. It basically uses your hard drive as more RAM. You can't clear virtual memory any more than you can clear your RAM.

It is possible to set the size of the virtual memory that Windows can create. This is done (if you have XP) through the control panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance Settings -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory Change (other OSs will have it in roughly the same place).

As you can see it isn't easy to find, because changing it can result in very bad things. If you make it too small, you system may crash when it runs out of physical RAM. Too large and you waste hard drive space. It's usually 1.5G, or smaller for older systems. Personally, I would just leave it alone. Windows only uses virtual memory as a last resort, and usually picks a reasonable size.

What is an IR port?

An IR port is a port which sends and receives infrared signals from other devices. It is a wireless type port with a limited range of 5-10ft. You can buy it as a USB device or you can buy it as an add-on to your motherboard. I have one that communicates with my palm pilot so I don't have to dock it just to deal my email/schedule. Very handy and pretty inexpensive, 10-25$.

How much will a 1GB card hold?

1GB is the same as 1,073,741,824 bytes I'm going to assume that you want to hold either pictures, music or video on your 1GB card. Because of it's limited amount of space the 1GB card is best used for storing pictures or audio files and not video. One hour of standard definition video at 2.2Mbit/s is about 1GB. It will also hold over 17 hours of compressed audio at 128 kbit/s. At the same time it will hold 1000 pictues at 1024×1024 pixel bitmap with 256 colors.

Can I use my Samsung Delve USB cable to upload photos to my PC?

Yes you can it has been conviently explained to you in the owners manual, the little booklet that came with your phone... Yea i know its odd but they put common needed instructions in little books that come with the electronic stuff you buy

Whoever gave that smart-ass answer obviously does not own a Delve because I do and there is NOTHING about connecting your phone to PC with the USB cable that came with it and I have yet to find out how to do it. I can send pictures to my email and in turn save them and then access them but that is time consuming. Good luck! I am going to call Alltel and see if they can walk me through it

Okay, according to the Samsung website under their FAQs, you have to have the memory card inserted and the pics have to be stored on that, go to settings, phone settings, scroll down to PC connection and a new removable disk should show on your PC...go to the Samsung website and they have it there!
