What was the original date for d-day?

The first proposed date for WWII's D-Day was May 1st 1944. But because a team of meteorologists could not agree on the weather forecast, and more importantly, to allow the US to manufacture more landing crafts, D-Day was pushed one month later. The US military leaders also hoped that weather would be more favorable in June.

D-Day was then set for June 5, 1944. It had to be postponed 24 hours due to bad weather.

As well, June 19th was chosen as an alternate to June 5th in case that date proved unsuitable. But, ultimately, June 19th was rejected because the US believed (knew) that if they waited too long, they would lose the advantage they had and could possibly lose the war.

Source of the May 1, 1944, May 5th, and June 19th dates: The Weather Channel, "When Weather Changed History", aired Saturday, August 14, 2010.
The original date was 5th May, then it changed a few times due to tides and weather.

Most wins by a Jockey in one day?

The record has to be shared.

The late Chris Antley was the first jockey to win nine races in a single day, when he won four at Aqueduct and five later that night at The Meadowlands on October 31, 1987. On June 11, 2005, the day after winning five races in one day at Calder Race Course, jockey Eddie Castro set the North American record when he won nine races from his 11 mounts on Calder's 13-race card.

For the purist, I guess Eddie Castro would hold the record because he did it at 1 race track while Chris Antley did it from 2 tracks.

Castro's day went like this:
Race 1 -- 2nd, Southphilly Barry
Race 2 -- 1st, Bill's No Trouble ($4.00)
Race 3 -- 1st, Snug Harbour ($8.20)
Race 4 -- 1st, Dakota Max ($13.00)
Race 5 -- no mount
Race 6 -- 1st, Five Star Susan ($7.00)
Race 7 -- no mount
Race 8 -- 4th, Broadway Buck
Race 9 -- 1st, Kin's Hurrah ($6.00)
Race 10 -- 1st, Sebastian Light ($12.20)
Race 11 -- 1st, Carey's Gold ($5.40)
Race 12 -- 1st, Agent Won ($7.20)
Race 13 -- 1st, Ben's Advantage ($3.80)

Your 2001 jeep wrangler overheated and stalled you parked it until it cooled down the radiator was flushed it started but idled rough it kept overheating it ran for a few days but now will not start?

When you over-heat your vehicle, more heat is captured inside the engine than what the radiator can cool off. That's why the steam and coolant blows out of the radiator. Unfortunately, when this happens, normally one or many scenarios will result. You will warped the cylinder head, you will crack the head. Both cases are major repairs. If the head is warped, it may be machined (milled) flat again at engine shop. Careful inspection is needed to assure the head is not cracked also. Occasionally, just the head gasket cracked allowing the coolant to flow into the cylinder. Remove the dip-stick and see if there is coolant mixed in with the oil. If there is, expect to remove/replace the head.

This

This is a major problem and should tackled by a certified mechanic.

Either the head is cracked, blown head gasket, or head is warped. I suspect more than 1 of these options resulted.

Pull the dip-stick and see if the coolant is in the oil. You will see foam or it will smell sweet like antifreeze. This confirms you have major problems.

If you don't see antifreeze, suspect the head is warped. Expect $750-$1500 bill to fix.

How do you beat Lego mars mission level 9 d-day?

This is what I did. Put all of your drones in the transport except 1. Then put 1 sabotuer in the transport. Send the transport on the other side of the defenses, in the middle of the T intersection. Put half of your troops on one side and the other half on the other side. Let both teams kill the astro on each side, the let them destroy the trikes on both sides. Make sure the the sabotuer does not die and let him go inside the breeding pit. Back at base, make sure one of your guys gets the money box next to the generator. Then make 1 sabotuer, and about 2-3 strike attacks. Let both teams attack the guns on both sides, then let the strike attack kill the astro with the jetpack. Then destroy the generator, and soon after that, send the sabotuer inside the sonar station.

Mission Accomplished

Cold start problem on F250 you got a 2002 f250 with a 7.3 diesel that was running fine Parked it one day and the next day when you got in it and turned the key all the gauges went crazy-the motor?

I dont know much about trucks, but i have kind of the same problem. I plug my truck in and it starts fine, but if it sits a few hours unplugged, it is a problem. My boyfriend showed me this trick that really helped alot. turn the key until the spring light thingy goes off, then turn the key off, then turn the key again and RIGHT when the light goes of for the second time start it with your foot lightly on the gas... it starts alot easier, and if you have a programer in your truck, turn it all the way down the night before,....if you have an outlook monitor.

How long can you store petrol?

There are a number of variables, but a container filled completely to exclude oxygen is best, and it shouldn't deteriorate noticeably inside three months. After that, the trick is to use a fuel-stabilizer called STA-BIL. It's made in the US, but should be available in most countries, and with this stuff the gas ought to be usable for up to about 18 months. It's also a good idea to put a bit in the tank of your chainsaw or whatever the last time you fire it up before winter, as it stops the fuel system getting gooed up in storage.

What is the connection between crossword puzzles and d-day?

During May 1944 the Daily Telegraph crossword contained the follwing answers - 'Utah', 'Omaha' which were the code-names for beaches in Normandy where U.S. forces were to land. 'Mulberry' which was the code-name for the floating harbour. 'Neptune' the code-name for naval support. 'Overlord' the code-name for the entire operation. The compiler, Leonard Daws, was interviewed by MI5 and cleared. But it did cause quite a panic in high places.

Why wasn't there more fighter aircraft strafing the beaches with close air support on Omaha beach on D-day?

Poor weather hampered some Allied air operations, but the biggest issue was interoperability between the US Services. Naval bombardment was lobbing shells the equivalent of freight trains at 2000 feet altitude over the beaches, which made it difficult for fighter-bombers to drop down and strafe...Things were so confusde on the beachhead that little coordination was made between Air and Naval assets.

How did Allied aircraft make D-Day a success?

D-Day was on June 6, 1944. On the day of the Allied invasion of Normandy, the Allies were able to place almost 13,000 aircraft in the air to aid the invasion. In contrast to this the Germans could only muster 319 warplanes.
