Can falling in love cause a manic-depressive to become manic?
yes, falling in love is my only trigger.
If he says he is then yes. If he gets treatment for his depression he may feel love again. People sometimes feel isolated while depressed and may not want to be around people or feel love for them.

Where do cutters cut themselves?
It varies between different self-mutilators, but in my personal experience, I began cutting when I was twelve-years-old and since it was an entirely new experience for me, I didn't think others would understand it since I didn't understand it myself. This is why I didn't attempt to hide the wounds, and I was cutting in immediately visible places on my arms. After my first hospitalization in a mental institution, I learned very quickly I didn't want to ever return to that place and so I began methodically hiding my self-harm. Today, I still use these places, such as my upper arms (which can be hidden by short-sleeved shirts and, once they scar, I can wear a tank-top and convince someone it's been there forever), my breasts (since no one sees those unless I let them), my upper legs (which can be covered by shorts) and inner thighs. Please understand, I am not advising anyone of the best places to cut their bodies, I am only helping you to understand where cutters are most likely to self-harm.
Because everybody deserves a fair chance at a job, and it would be unconstitutional if they didn't allow that person to do that.
How can you make yourself feel better?
Acknowledge your past mistakes and decide to have learned from them. If you keep doing different, out of character things, you will not be scared to do something different in the future. Force yourself to not be scared of the unknown, The fear of embarrassment can hold you back from the things you want to do.
If anyone makes fun of you, their either just jealous or just big meanies. Don't let it get to you. You are who you are and you shouldn't let anyone change you.
If sociopaths have no real emotions or feelings than what is greed and desire categorized as?
It is not true that sociopaths (properly referred to as exhibiting antisocial or dissocial personality disorder) do not have emotions or feelings. Their emotions tend to be well-suppressed, but they do feel some things. However, they tend to require much higher levels of stimulation, which leads to risk taking, drinking and drugs, and other extreme behavior.
What they lack is empathy, the ability to relate to what other people are feeling. If you or I see someone stub their toe, we automatically wince. They don't. Lacking that, they have no problem mistreating other living things.
Are men diagnosed more often with major depression than women?
Men aren't actually more depressed on average than women. The idea is that women suffer from the same, however their hormonal imbalances (which cause depressed feelings) are more closely checked and noticed thanks to medications, doctors visits and the like. Men are overlooked in their hormonal balances because everyone thinks that they are self-reliant and don't have mood issues as a result of imbalances, while the opposite is more true. As a result, men are more quickly labeled as having depression while in reality they may be suffering from other things causing the depression symptoms.
What is the recommended treatment for depression?
There is no one "best" treatment for depression. A good regiment for battling depression is more than just drugs.
Is Lithium an anticonvulsant and can long term use cause head tremors?
See www.drugs.com and http://crazymeds.us which both have good info on lithium, which is generally used as a mood stabiliser, but can produce tremors, if taken in overdose. Note: some people need up to 30 times the dose that another may need to be effective, and although those prescribing usually tend to start off at a low dose, this may still be too high for a small number of people. There are many other factors which control the amount of lithium in the bloodstream, including salt, and water intake, as well as high temperatures and humidity levels causing profuse perspiration and rapid loss of salt, and water, and therefore the increase in lithium to toxic levels. Also check out Depakote, and Lamictal. See section 10, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and also the page on bipolar chatsites, to increase your chances of getting even more useful information on the subject.
Would you commit suicide if your face got burnt?

What kind of depression do you have if you don't eat and won't go out?
Both not eating and not going out can be characteristics of all types of depression. What type of depression it is depends on the length of time the behaviour has been going on and the severity of the characteristics. A Major Depressive episode is a period of at least two weeks of feeling extremely down every day, not being interested in anything, plus other symptoms such as insomnia, significant weight loss while not trying to diet and feelings of worthlessness. Not eating is a result of not having any appetite simply because your disinterest in everything is including disinterest in food. Some people who are depressed eat too much, but not because they're hungry, but just because it's there. Getting medical treatment can help with this, such as antidepressants. It is important to remember that your body requires food to run. It's important to eat regular balanced meals. From things I've studied on depression, sometimes you just have to make yourself eat because it's necessary to survive. It's also a good plan to forget about any weight loss plans while your in the middle of a depression because it really puts too much pressure. I lost 40 pounds in six weeks by being depressed and having no appetite, but that's definitely not the right way to lose weight. Blood tests revealed my body was low on every mineral substance in the blood that comes from food, including iron, calcium and anything your body needs to run. That alone can sap energy out of you compounded on top of disinterest in life and lack of motivation due to depression. In short if you or someone you love hasn't been able to eat and doesn't want to go out for two weeks straight, it's time to talk to a doctor. Leaving depression untreated usually makes it worse, so do something about it now. It's important to remember that depression of any type is a brain chemical imbalance that can be treated just like appendicitis or a broken leg. Depression is not a sign of weakness. Both Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill suffered from depression, I'm sure no one would call either one of them weak.
Two major mood disorders include?
Two of the most common mood disorders are depression and bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness.
Sounds way too complicated to be true. You either have borderline personality disorder or you don't - it does not "activate" only at certain times.
There is no such thing as a borderline bipolar - they are two different mental illnesses.
I would advise this woman to seek a good therapist who can help her figure out what exactly is going on during these relationships.
First thing first go visit your doctor and get treatment right away. I experienced the same feeling and was diagnosed with Anxiety/Depression. I was put on medication and visited a therapist regulary. This helped me alot, there's lots of people dealing with same situations but getting help is the first part, you will get better, I did.
