What is the plural of racism?

'Racism' is an abstract noun, and doesn't technically have singular or plural forms. It can't be quantified as '1 racism', or '5 racism', only in relative terms like "a bit racist" or "very racist". Because of this, it's not possible to talk about it in singular or plural terms.

What is the difference between oppression and discrimination?

Oppression is using power in an unfair way. Discrimination is distinguishing between people based on stereotypes of the groups that they belong to.

What does the Bible teach about racism today?

The Bible teaches about racism what it has always taught. It teaches that there is no justification whatsoever for racism since God created man in the beginning and we are all 'of one blood' therefore. We are all related from one family of mankind created by God. This is mentioned in Paul's sermon on Mars Hill:

26And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: Interestingly, modern genetics has borne out this basic inter-relatedness of all mankind in identifying how every 'racial' grouping is much the same. The differences we heed such as eye shape in the Asian peoples and skin color are only superficial and are meaningless genetically. This is why a dark skinned person can sometimes be a better match for an organ donation to a white person than someone of their own skin color and vice-versa. Further to this, the Bible also teaches that faith in Christ Jesus transcends any of the differences which separate people from each other and brings a profound unity. 26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. What the Bible has always said it is still saying today for the God who stands behind it does not change.

1 Chronicles 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; b Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: Mark 12:29,30 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Why do black men date white women?

Because White Women often treat Black Men better, and will usually give them the Time of Day; not asking for Money, or Material things like most Black Women do. Most Black Women mainly African-American Women are Single Mothers only interested in having Kids to go on Section 8, live off the Government, have attitudes, are very set in their ways, have no intentions to be in a better place, and are unapproachable. Black Men want a Serious Relationship with a Family, and aside from having considerable lower Abortion Rates than Black Women, White Women tend to be more approachable, not as Shallow, Materialistic and is always willing to make sacrifices, doing what it takes to make her man Happy.

How many died during the St Bartholomew's Day Massacre?

The estimated death toll from the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre in France ran from over5,000-30,000. The massacre began on August 23, 1572, which was St. Bartholomew's Day Eve. It was carried out against Huguenots, who were Protestant dissenters against the majority Roman Catholic Church.

The massacre took place in the aftermath of the marriage of the Catholic Marguerite de Valois [May 14, 1553-March 27, 1615] to her second cousin, the Protestant Henry III [December 13, 1553-May 14, 1610] of Navarre.* For that marriage, many leading, prominent, rich and unsuspecting Huguenots had flocked to the largely Catholic Paris. One of the reasons for the massacre's quick, foul victories may have been the suggested involvement of King Charles IX [June 27, 1550-May 30, 1574] and his mother, Queen Catherine de' Medici [April 13, 1519-January 5, 1589].

*He subsequently became King Henry IV of France. He was a rare, beloved monarch whose reputation survived the later French Revolution.

What are the important issues regarding ethnicity?

Many Ethnic groups are being segregated against still, although in the US and other western countries it is likely more social discrimination than legal discrimination.

Why did racism help strengthen the acceptance of slavery?

Racism is the expressed belief that race matters in decisions outside the home and family. Openly expressing that blacks race made them subhuman eased many white American moral concerns about enslaving them.

Slavery of every race has been lawful almost everywhere in the past. Millions of whites were enslaved, and millions of whites are today the descendants of slaves.

Can domestic partners be discriminated against?

Yes and they frequently are. Domestic partners, which may be of either same or mixed genders, are often treated differently than legally married couples, particularly in the legal context. Right off the bat, there is an entirely different set of vocabulary words that are used in connection with their relationship.

If they are registered, then they often are granted only a subset of legal rights and benefits of marriage. Although opposite-sex couples have consciously chosen not to marry, same-sex couples might have settled for domestic partnership because it was the only option available.

If your question is whether it is legal to discriminate against domestic partners (i.e., treating them differently than legally married couples), then the answer in many jurisdictions is yes. In many states, the law itself draws a distinction between married couples and domestic partners. In some places, such as California, Oregon, Nevada and, for the time being, Washington state, state-registered domestic partners are entitled to be treated the same as legally married couples.

Have the Jews ever been the persecutors?

As a group it would seem that the Jewish have not persecuted much at first glance. Because the Jewish were persecuted so much over the centuries; not much is talked about them persecuting others in popular media. But I do know this: According the Acts of the Apostles and other historical documentation; Jewish leaders have persecuted Christians. The rapid spread of Christianity gave a rise to fear and envy among the Jewish leaders. They caused other Jews to anger and sent Christians to the Roman authorities. Christians were often imprisoned or killed or both.

St. Stephen, considered the first Christian martyr, was the first to be persecuted by the Jews. He was merely preaching about the Savior, Jesus Christ, and the Jews cast him out of the city where he would be stoned to death. St. Stephen prayed this before he dies: "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit, do not hold this sin against them". Many others were imprisoned, tortured, and killed. This includes the 12 disciples. Common killings were: Stoning, X-shaped Crucifiction, Upside down Crucifiction, Burning, Beheading, Throwing off building (usually temples for mockery), Death by sword, and many others...

Ironically, all this persecution didn't stop the spread of Christianity or even slow it down. In fact, it actually sped up the process. The sped slowed among the people of Jerusalem. However, because of persecution, Christians moved into Judea, Samaria, and other countries where they would preach about their Savior, Jesus Christ.

I'm sorry that I don't know of any other persecutions but I hope this one instance in history will suffice for your purposes. :]

Are people proud of racism?

Yes, there are some groups that are. Usually the unintelligent and fear mongers that just want to cause trouble. All races should be able to get along with each other if most of us would give them half a chance and learn each other's cultures. My husband and I have many friends who are all different races and when we have a party everyone gets along just nicely so it can be possible. Some people are. In Canada and the US, I think the proud ones are white. I think all the racists in Canada and the US are white, because whites are the majority there.

To the above poster it may simply depend on where you live. I live on the outskirts of Vancouver, B.C., and trust me when I say whites are the MINORITY here! There are more Asians and East Indians living in Vancouver and suburbs outside of Vancouver. Look at the news or look it up on the net.
