Why are black people considered animals by some?
The reason why is because of stereotypes those "some" choose to believe because of racist attitudes they choose to have because of ignorance and intolerance they choose to let become of them.
The meaning of "an open hand in fighting apartheid," is a peaceful approach -- the imagery of 'an open hand' is supposed to signify that of someone reaching out their hand in friendship (like that of a handshake or peaceful greeting).
How do you deal with black people?
You "deal" with black people the same way one "deals" with any other human being on this planet. There is nothing special that needs to be done to interact with someone who is black.
Because maybe they don't want to be racist because it's not right to be racist. It's wrong to hate someone because of the color of their skin or their customs. No one should be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of the character (Martin Luther King). It's terribly wrong in my opinion to dislike someone because of their skin. The world would possibly change if there weren't any racist people in our world. Every person is different in one way or another, so let's try to treat everyone very fairly!!

How discrimination impacts on an individual?
i'm going to focus on gender discrimination.
Gender discrimination can significantly affect the confidence and courage of one. It may stop someone from pursuing their career due to lack of self confidence; forcing the individual to not apply for certain jobs as a result of stereotypical ideas. When one is discriminated against due to their gender, one doubts their abilities and potential affecting their emotional health. One may even doubt their God impairing their spiritual health. This self doubt may lead into depression affecting their mental health and isolation from the rest of the community, causing a lack of communication, affecting their social life. Through the associated stress with gender discrimination on the person getting discriminated, drug dependance may occur, affecting ones physical health.

Dr King believed the way to end segregation was through?
He believed the way to end seggregation was through peace.
Is favoritism or cronyism considered discrimination?
Typically "discrimination" (when dealing with people) implies prejudice towards a group or class of people, not specific individuals. So if Chris and Sam are equally qualified or deserving, but Chris gets preferential treatment, it would only be considered discriminatory if it can be shown that the preference is based on Chris and Sam belonging to different classes of people based on race, religion, gender, etc.
What is generalization and discrimination in operant conditioning?
Generalization and Discrimination: even though the response is emitted, animals can be taught to discriminate between situations. A pigeon will learn that they will get a pellet when they press a lever... when they press the lever and there is a red light no (negative discriminative stimulus [S-]), when there is a green light yes (positive disciminative stimulus [S+]). In difference to CS- and CS+, the S+ and S- tells the animal the impact of their behaviour: no point in acting (S-) or act now to get reward (S+) versus the CS+ and CS- which mean no matter what the reward comes or does no (it is indifferent to the animal's behaviour. Same can be stated for generalization... animals will respond to similar stimuli if they are similar to original
Why are blacks racist against whites?
Not all black people are racist against white people, but the ones who are vary in reasons why. Some believing it's better to be racist against white people because of the hostile history of blacks and whites; therefore, they believe they will be discriminated against in the end, and will only end up hating white people anyway.
Why are non religious people against discrimination?
Religion doesn't automatically imply discrimination, though religion has been used as a reason for discrimination AND for fighting against discrimination.
It all depends on the actual person, not all religious people are 'for discrimination', and not all non-religious people are against discrimination.
Do darker skinned citizens constitute the majority of America?
Darker than what?
Suppose you were to take a hundred people, and line them up in order of skin color from lightest to darkest. Then if you counted down to number 50, half the people would be lighter than that person and half would be darker. (OK, 49 would be lighter, 50 would be darker, and then there is the one in the middle.) But if you counted to number 45 or number 55, then the majority would be either lighter or darker than the one you counted to.
The majority is probably somewhat darker than I am. I tend to think that my ancestors who crossed the ocean to get her from England, Scotland, and Ireland were concerned with things a lot more important than the skin of everybody else who would come here.
What is an argument that people used to prevent affirmative action?
Some people suggest that affirmative action isn't needed even though historically white males primarily and white people have benefited from white privilege and not because they were smarter, better educated or more deserving but simply because of white rule. Some suggest that reverse racism is in effect when affirmative action is in place and that there is no longer racial prejudice or injustice in the United States because of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which ironically was ignored in many southern and northern states. Many feel that the argument against legally making the field more level is an example of racial discrimination which is why affirmative action was created. Other arguments against it, is that if minorities and women were the smarter or better deserved that they would automatically be given the job or contract desired because America is a very a fair country that has wiped out prejudice and discrimination, and it is believed that affirmative action isn't needed and is unfair to white people and men who are believed to be losing so many opportunities to lesser deserving minorities and women (who aren't believed to be smart enough for the positions that they are unfairly taking from the smarter and more deserving white people and men).
Historical racism is primarily based on the decent, ancestors and origins of a person or people.
How do you say bigotry in spanish?

Where did the derogatory term Ginny for Italians come from?
The English traded with the Italian sailers and when one on the Captains would not trade in increments of "Pounds", yet rather " a Pound and a Shilling", the English traders termed the increment of a "pound and a shilling" a "Ginny" and thought it was a cheap, underhanded or shrewd way of doing business...over time it was used as a derogatory term to call any Italians "Ginny's"!!
Race isn't biological, and it varies in definition from country to country. In the United States, Caucasian can mean "white people," or people of Europe, the Middle East, and Northern Africa descent. In this sense, a person of Croatian nationality could be Caucasian. However, race is an ever changing concept that has no set guidelines.
Why is racism such a touchy subject?
Because there are many who'd rather pretend it doesn't exist any longer. To say racism is still around and greatly affecting the lives of many says that there are still racists around greatly affecting the lives of many and no one (with a few exceptions) wants to say they are racist. However, to deny that racism is around when many can give proof that it is still thriving is in itself somewhat racist, so they are, in fact, achieving the opposite of what they think they will achieve; getting rid of racism by ignoring it. Also, many would rather enjoy the comfortable life they have without being bothered with someone elses problem. If it isn't affecting you, you are less likely to care about it or act on it. This is something that many human beings live by.
'Emo' itself is not a religion but yes i suppose someone who calls them self could have a religion.
What is the proper way to refer to people of Mexican decent?
I am of Mexican descent myself. My mother is a Mexican citizen, my father was American, also of Mexican descent. "Of Mexican descent" or "Mexican" is just fine with me. Generalizations like Hispanic and Latino are not preferred by us unless our nationality is not known. It is however bad form to refer to a Hispanic person as a Mexican if they are not. Guatemalans, Puerto Ricans , Cubans, etc. have their national pride too.
