What is the difference between discrimination and segregation?
They are some how the same , but segregation means to separate people by skin color and discrimination means to treat people differently just because their skin color is few shades darker than the whites and both segregation and discrimination are harmful and a bad thing
What is the meaning of prejudice and discrimination?
Prejudice is sort of hating someone before you get to know them. Discrimination is basically like racism.

Racism is not genetic. You may however, have heavy influence from those around you i.e. Parents, friends that persuade you into thinking racism is acceptable, as when you are younger, you are none the wiser. It is all determined by your environment.
Why do people discriminate against alcoholics?
because alchoholics appear out of control. And usually after they have been drinking for a long time, they smell and are dirty and are no longer fun to be around. People might also stay away from alchoholics because they do not want to be influenced to do alchohol as well. I don't agree with drinking alchohol, but I think that people should not discriminate against alchoholics. Instead we should love them, and maybe they will turn away from the alchohol and improve their lives.
How important is skin color to position in the caste system?
Theatre-wise, a lot of times it depends on what agency you're working with. If it were for a school lay it would hardly matter, but in a big shot Hollywood production you may have to meet surtact skin color requirnments to audition for certain parts. If all depends on the producers.

What was the effect of characterizing Jews Gypsies and homosexuals as subhuman?
The characterization that Jews, Romani, and Homosexuals were sub-human (untermensch) caused many Germans to be desensitized to the persecution and later elimination of these groups. It also allowed many of the Nazis involved in the Holocaust, which was the mass extermination of these and other groups of people, to believe that they were performing good acts in "removing the vermin" who "contaminated" the rest of the population.
Is racism and racial discrimination the same?
YES
Not necessarily. Racism represents racism in general but racial discrimination is a form of racism but different in its own way. Racial discrimination is when you're DISCRIMINATED based on your RACE. Racism on the other hand is anything that has to do with your race.
I'm not really sure about my answer but that's how I interpret the two.
Hate is a strong word. Blacks do not hate, but feel extremely slighted because of centuries of irrational and unfair practices in America. For example, blacks experienced centuries of slavery, while Caucasian used blacks to accumulate properties, corporations and businesses all across America for centuries. Blacks never received 40 acres and a mule that was promised by the American government. Blacks were so discriminated against that laws were made to keep them from progressing, AFTER SLAVERY. Also, blacks are very, very, aware of white privilege in America (if you are unsure what white privilege is all about, listen to Caucasian speaker, Tim Wise, on you tube). Finally, blacks must learn white history (which often excludes truth about how black people were extremely slighted throughout American history), while whites are not taught about this truth in a comprehensive process, and, whites deny the the unfair practices that continue today. For example, there was once a law that forbade blacks to learn to read, and now many whites are against affirmative action (affirmative action was created because of centuries of discrimination against blacks in the first place). Many whites are also against reparations, when blacks deserve them more than any group in America. If all Americans really believed in liberty and justice for all, and faced the ugly truth about racism in America, the irrational and unfair practices would cease.

What are examples of racism in Huckleberry Finn?
Well Huckelberry's friend who is black is treated differently by white people because of the colour of his skin. He is a servent and has no rights, has no free voice and must do EVERYTHING his master tells him to do. If he does not, a white person has the right to have them executed without fair terial because he is black but if it was a white servent the person would then work for someone else. Huckelberry's friend cannot enter a town without being abused by white people, can not live a free life and if spotted, will become a servent immedietly! (Forgot friends name sorry
What is is racial segregation?
Racial segregation is when two races (examples of races are black, white, Mexican, Asian, etc.) are separated in everything they do. We once had a segregation between whites and blacks in America. They were separated in schools, restrooms, water fountains, parts of a bus (look up Rosa Parks for more info on that), and just about everything in life we do.
How much racism is still going on?
i will say a 50% because America doesnt really discriminate towards black people its just the way some black people act and who they are it does not have anything to do with color or groups.
Why is there now sexism against men as well as women?
I like to think of it as a pie chart. The only way the smaller percentages can increase is to either nibble away at the other small areas....or the biggest one. Since the other small areas are also, effectively, minorities, it is far easier to take it from the bigger piece. As such, anything that is capable of doing that is deemed ok but whenever the bigger piece does the same things back, it's considered bad form or greedy.
Possibly a silly notion but I just thought it was an easy way to visualise it *shrugs*
Although you write that it's okay to use names like those for people, you probably aren't using those terms when you speak to those people in person.
A basic human skill is respect, and when using terms such as those you've used, you deny yourself your own ability to show respect, by disrespecting whole nations full of people.
What is structural social mobility?

Why do people result to violence when discriminated against?
Because ignorance leads their knowledgeless mind to hurt people, mostly because the African American race feel so offended to minor racial slurs, they respond violently to the white race.
****
Anybody in a situation whey they are the minority can end up being discriminated against. Often times people being discriminated against are themselves a victim of a violant act. The dehuminizing, the humiliation and the frustration of the victim can result in an eruption of violance as the last possible menas of defending themselves. People in the majority, or biast like the first respons above, often blame the victim for defending themselves and see it as an act of agression rather than an act of defense.
Racial discrimination between black and white people?
Racial discrimination between black and white people is still alive in the 21st century. The black people are in most cases treated as an inferior race by the white folks.
Why are black people good at dancing running and singing?
White people have equal opportunity to be skilled in those areas but over the years while they were being descriminated against they brought these skills to the surface and used them for comfort in hard times. I have noticed there are more black people in the NFL and NBA and what not but their talents and likes were just practiced more than the white.

The impact of the womens movement on todays fashion?
You could view this in many ways some would say that the clothes are obscene and too revealing while others would say they give more freedom of movement. The aftereffects of the movement in my opinion are that clothes that aren't too tight and give more freedom of movement have grown in popularity but that may not be the case in some places for example the Amish religion and those who follow it wear traditional clothes since the following began maybe some changes have happened but other than that the aftereffects just seem to boost clothes that are easier in some cases. If you're not satisfied with this answer please let me know and I'll try to improve it.

Why did white South Africans leave South Africa when Apartheid was abolished?
Mainly because they did not see a future in a country run by an African. (they had seen other African countries fail and many whites were killed in uprisings in other Africacountries like Kenya)
They looked to the north and saw no example of this functioning and a country growing in the rest of Africa.
Many were also afraid of retaliation against the whites by blacks. (It is said that this will occur a lot when Nelson Mandela passes away.)
The majority wanted a better life for themselves and a stable future for their kids which they did not feel they would get under the ANC.
There was also affirmative action (employment equity) - e.g. no longer having job preferences.
Many South Africans (of all races) have experienced a high intensity of violent crimes against themselves and their families. This has increased radically since 1994 and currently SA has the highest murder rate in the world +/- 60 p/d.
There's the occasional white South African who would have always, or almost always, wanted to immigrate to a certain country, for other reasons. It would have been ahead of its time before 1994.
