On a 2000 dodge ram 1500 ext cab need more power please help?

You could supercharge it, get a cold-air induction system, turbocharge it, different transmission, higher octane gas, change the mufflers, put on headers, watch an upgrading special on the Speed channel or other auto channel and many other performance enhancing upgrades. There are many magazines and websites that sell parts to upgrade, such as Jegs.

Why does courtesy light flash and dinging noise occur in 1996 Dodge Stratus when driving?

Usually that means the doors are open. If they are closed, its probably the door switch. Easy and inexpensive part to fix. Its the little black switch located on the B- and C-pillars near the latch. Two screws and a electrical quick disconnect and its out. Install is reverse.

Your neighbor's lights dim as do your own when your AC compressor cycles on what would cause this?

Your power supply will fluctuate small amounts without you even noticing. But when the lights start dimming then you could be getting into the amount of fluctuation that can cause damage. Since you said your neighbors house dims when your a/c comes on, (you must have a huge a/c!) I would wonder if both houses are wired to the same transformer at the road (from the power company). And that transformer is either weak or too small. I would notify the power company and have them come check it out and make sure there isn't a problem with the transformer. Dave: Thanks for the reply. Yes, my neighbor and 8 other new homes are on one Transformer, which has been checked by the local utility. They say the drop in voltage is 50% below the guideline, but will not say it's the transformer, the secondary wiring or the builders design spec's being too low to handle the start up load. Any more ideas about the most probable cause or how to determine it? Thnaks, Joe First answer is right- keep on them until they do something about it. A feed that serves 8 houses should not be overloaded by one A/C unit surge.

What causes an accelerator to stick to the floor and can this be repaired?

could be a sticky cable. I would go to your local parts store and get some powder graphite. Put some on each end of the cable and work the cable back and forth. If it is just sticky this should help. If it is a frayed cable it must be replaced. could also be a sticky throttle assembly, but I would start with the cable.

Is hydro locking permanent?

Some further information would have been helpful (such as the conditions under which the condition occurred.) Assuming that the engine has for one reason or another ingested a liquid (water, oil, etc.) and siezed up because it can't compress a liquid, just remove the spark plugs and turn the engine over slowly several times manually. The liquid will be expelled. Reinstall plugs (new ones if the fluid fouled the originals) and the engine should turn freely. If the liquid came from within the engine, the source should obviously be repaired.

Truck overheats 2 minutes after start then runs FINE any ideas?

You must check the coolant level in your radiator and reservoir. Low coolant levels can lead to overheating. If it's low, you may have a coolant leak that needs to be repaired. Good luck!

What do ball pythons look like?

Reticulated pythons are huge, thick snakes. They have a pattern of black and brown that I can't easily explain, and a yellow face. Check out the photos in the related links.

Reticulated pythons should never be described as "thick," they are incredibly thin, active snakes. If a reticulated python is not thin it's likely overweight or obese. Their pattern can be described as "netted/webbed," which is where their name "reticulated" comes from. They also often have orange, silver, and greenish colors, and can be quite ornate. Each locality has slightly different appearances. I think it's also worth noting, not all reticulated pythons are huge! There are island localities that max out at only 6' in length, and being such incredibly thin snakes they won't appear as big as they really are, and someone might guess a 6' retic to be maybe 4' if it wasn't stretched out to show its length.

How do you change an axle on a 1990 Ford ProbeLX?

How do you make a 2001 dodge Cummings 2500 blow out black smoke?

If it's an older Cummins (any 5.9L model), the cheapest way is to just cut the muffler off up to the engine and run a straight pipe clear out the back. Then SCT Tune the truck and you'll be making great power and blowing plenty of that black smoke on the Prius at the stop light! If it's a newer 6.7L Cummins you will have to install a DPF Delete Kit. DPF stands for "diesel particulate filter." It catches all of the smoke and emissions that is coming from the engine. You install this pipe and the truck will be straight piped for blowing plenty of that black smoke!

How do you replace an electronic control module on a 1995 Mercury Cougar?

I am not a mechanic by any means, but a nice mechanic at Tires Plus showed me where the Constant Relay Module was yesterday. Of course, that was after they sold me a freon boost and let me drive away without telling me that my air conditioning still did not work. I had to call back the next day to receive an estimate of $340.00 to have a new module installed. From what the mechanic showed me and told me - The module is located on the driver's side, front section of the engine compartment below the air filter. You must unclip and remove the air filter/intake cowling. Look straight down and you should see the little black box or module. You pull out the old one and install the new one, making sure that the pins match. From my reading, you probably need a screwdriver to remove the the screws holding it down. If you are handy with circuits, switches, and soldering, you may be able to repair the module itself, using a relay switch ($4.75) from Radio Shack or just a soldering iron ($ 0.00). Do an Internet search on relay switch, soldering, CCRM, Radio Shack, etc and you should find a detailed explanation of the process. Good luck, CWB

How do you replace the alternator on an 04 dodge ram?

Its real easy. 1st Get a breaker bar (an extremely long ratchet like a torque wrench). Locate the idler pulley and the size the bolt for a socket that holds the idler pulley on the idler arm (Hint: The idler pulley is just a pulley connected to a springloaded assembly attached to your enginge block putting pressure on the serpentine belt so it is tight around all the component pulleys (alternator, power steering, crankshaft, etc. pulleys).Using the correct size socket attached to the breaker bar for leverage put the socket onto the bolt head and pull or push the bolt head of the idler puller either forward or backward (which ever way causes the tension arm to move thus moving the idler pulley so that pressure is removed from the serpentine belt). Now remove the serpentine belt. A serpentine belt diagram should be located somewhere on a decal near the radiator or some other location under the hood...if not, before you remove the serpentine belt, map out the serpentines route with pen and paper so you can put the new one on the same exact way. When putting on the new belt you will again have to position the idler pulley usig the breaker bar and socket such that you can stretch the new belt over all the component pulleys...please note...you will only have one free hand when your doing this, so make it count and be patient...you will succeed. Good luck ...maxvolt1@verizon.net

Where is the map sensor 2002 dodge Dakota 4.7?

look at the air filter box and follow the big hose to the throttle body. somewhere on that hose (the biggest one) is a piece with several wires to it . that is the map sensor. be shure not to touch the spring looking things as this will kill it.

The sensor that you describe is the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor, NOT the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor.

Per Ford, my 1991 Ranger XLT 3.0L v6 EFI truk does NOT have a MAP supposedly because it has a MAF. I suspect his 1990 Ranger also lacks the MAP.

The above is correct, that is the MAF sensor described by the first . On my 1990 Ranger 2.9L 4x4 Automatic, The MAP sensor is located on the firewall. It is on the passenger side of the distributor and towards the top. It is actually inside a compartment in the firewall. All you are able to see is the wiring connector that plugs into it. There is also a larger vacuum line that plugs into it.

My truck appears to have both a MAF and a MAP

I have also heard that there are some rangers out there that were made for California emissions regulations and are not equipped with either the MAF or MAP. Its either one of the other but I cant remember which one.
