The largest litter ever recorded (so far) was born to a Neapolitan Mastiff and there were 24 pups born in total (although 3 died shortly). The record for the largest litter when all the pups survived stands with 3 different dogs at 23 pups. Those dogs were an American Foxhound, a St. Bernard, and a Great Dane. Drooling is natural in some breeds but if the drool seems unnatural (more like foam) and the dog isn't eating, it should be checked by a veterinarian asap for possible early signs of poisoning or Parvo.

Hi there! Well my shihtzu just had her puppies 3 weeks ago and this is her first litter. She is on the small, small side and she had 5 puppies! but it depends.

I would find out about your shihtzus "Mother" if her mother had a big litter ex.(7pups) chances are she won't have only 1 or 2 but more.

This is how I estimated how many my dog was going to have but if she was bigger she probably would've gave birth to 6-7 pups.

It's a great experience but I wouldn't do it if you aren't completely ready money wise and mind wise.

The pup needs to understand that the birds/flock are yours. You are the puppies Alpha and the birds are your property. Not unlike training a pup not to chew shoes, careful watch must be taken for the first few weeks of training and sharp commands of "NO" when the pup chases the birds. Take the pup around chickens as often as possible and make it feel the flock is part of the pack. Mistakes will be made but if you are watchful and you use a leash for the first few days most dogs will come to accept the birds without seeing them as prey.

I wouldn't recommend it but once my dog ate a whole chocolate bunny and she was perfectly fine. But you shouldn't fine your dog mint chocolate chip ice cream even though its good.

That depends whether you mean a puppy as in a young dog, or a puppy as in a baby hamster as they are also called puppies.

It's hard. Puppies are just that way. It takes time and patience, but try spraying him with some water, and make sure he doesn't know where it's coming from. He will eventually stop, but I know, puppies are a handful!!

i am guessing you are a child. you just need to be patient and your little puppy will be bigger in no time!
