I have owned several fords from 88-94 and the fuel shut off or enertia switch was always located in the trunk area, try pulling the carpet away from the side walls of the trunk and search throughly. Also try behind the back right panel.

Mine too. It's a 98. Not so much in just rain, but if I hit standing water I'm walking.

I was reading that it may be the tensioner, but inspecting today noticed that I have a slight leak and end play on the power steering pump. Thinking of replacing both at the same time. I have two of these. One my son drives with 206k and never an issue. But on my latest with 125k its an issue.

Very difficult and very expensive unless you have a donor car for parts. My advice, is sell this car a purchase a manual transmission car if that is what you want.

The firewall is the metal wall dividing the engine compartment from the

Im not sure there is a speedometer cable generally speaking speedometers have been electeonic for many years---phone and see if there a listing for your car but if there is a cable you have to reach behind the the spedo head in the dash ---release the clip or nut that holds it to the head then just pull it off---then go down to the transmission and release it from there and just pull it through the firewall

It doesn't matter really. It's recommended that you disconnect the NEGATIVE lead because it won't burn the wrench if you accidentally touch the chassis while you're loosening the terminal. Just so long as one of the terminals is disconnected, the car is electrically protected while you're working on it.

of the trunk behind the trunk liner ( there is an access hole ) or in the drivers

footwell behind the kick panel ( there is an access hole )

Use a nail or small pointed item and a hammer. That's how I did mine

on the bottom of the transmission there is a plug that you take out. you can stick your little finger in the hole where the plug was to see if it is low. if you do not get fluid on your finger, it may need a quart or so.

take off the dash then you need to unscrew the CD player and pull out the wire. (make sure that you have the harness for the new CD player and for the car.) splice the old wires and reatach them with the new harness wires,(they should be color coded and matched) then plug the new car adapter harness into the harness for the CD player. After all that, plug your antenna adapter into the back of the CD player and then screw everything back in. Note that you might need the dash installation kit, because usually the CD players are smaller than the stock players. -Shocker

MAP sensor on my Escort is on o/s engine compartment. connected to the inlet manifold by rubber tubing via small fuel trap on side of air filter. 3 wires via plug come out the bottom of unit, and go off somewhere technical.

ticking noise is usually "lifter noise". if this noise increases in speed when accelerating then it is "lifter noise". just change your oil.and or maitain proper oil level.try using a medium to thick oil 20/30 20/50 , there is a product call lucas which also helps your oil lubricate the engines moving parts easier. i have use it, and it works , it takes a few miles but it works.
