Where is the flasher unit on a 1992 Ford Fiesta 1.1 and how easy is it to change the indicator switch?

For both these, it is necessary to remove the steering column covers. This is fiddly but not difficult: two screws on top, two underneath, and two inside, remove the choke control (the knob unclips from its shaft), and wiggle the plastic round the ignition switch. The flasher unit is underneath to the left and simply unclips and pulls out. The indicator switch assembly - which has all the switches on it, you can't separate them - is held in place with two screws and the everlasting plastic clips. Remove this and then unplug the cable; this is another fiddly job (why can't the makers make things easy?) as you have to push the retaining clip in, then hinge the plug down before it will come away. I'd advise you to buy a spare switch unit, as they are prone to fail. Known stock faults are the indicator auto-cancel mechanism (it's plastic and splits) and the rear wiper switch (the contacts burn out because they're overloaded by the motor. There's no relay on this circuit for some reason, I'd reccommend fitting one). Unless you've got a very early model, it is possible to dismantle these and repair them, though since you can often find them on Ebay for only a few pounds it isn't really worth the bother, though a new unit at

What tools do i need to change a Ford fiesta mk 5 brakes pads?

Firstly a Set of axle stands, A jack and a special allen/torx key. Place the fiesta on axle stand then proceed to remove the wheel. You should remove the spring clip then, slacken and remove the guide pin bolts there behind the rubber covers need to use allen/torx tool here, the caliper should swing up at which point you remove the brake pads. before fitting the new pads you will need to move the brake piston back this can be done with a clamp and a bit of muscle be sure to open the brake fluid reservoir cap in the engine bay. after the piston has been moved back you can place the pads in and retighten everything. Note: if the brake piston will not go back then try loosening the bleed nipple on the caliper it usually works. Disclaime.I am not responsible for the stupid things you may do to mess up your brake systems.

Why does my 97 Ford Fiesta heater only blows hot air?

Usually its the heater control valve (£30-£40 New). Its just behond the bulkhead at the centre of the engine bay.

However you should put a multi metre accross the control plug first. Make sure it gets a 12v pulsing signal when the heater is set on hot. If not then it's a problem elsewhere. (Possibly the dashboard pannel not sending the signal.)

That's exactly how far I've got the the same problem on car. Will let you know if a find the problem...

How do you remove rear light assembly for high Brake Lights on Ford Fiesta?

undo 2 screws on outside edge, then reach through hole at rear from inside boot, and unscrew plastic collar.

For those with newer models, this answer is still valid. I first saw this question

How do you replace the brake light bulb in an 2006 ford fiesta?

But my car which is 2006 still has the plastic collar to unscrew.

To change the 'High Level' brake light bulb - the one over the back window - open the hatch and remove the two rubber grommets from behind the light unit. Insert a flat screwdriver blade into each hole, push down the spring clip, and the light unit will come out. Try not to damage the screen washer pipe attached to it. The bulb is an 18w wedge-fitting.

Er... It isn't 18w, it's 16w. I didn't have my reading glasses on.

How do you replace high mount light bulb in Ford Fiesta?

Take out the two rubber grommets behind the light unit and use the flat blade of a screwdriver to press down the spring clips inside. Pull the unit out and replace the 18watt wedge-fitting bulb.

How cars are made?

Cars are an assembly of parts most often from suppliers scattered across the country and often the world. The parts for the cars are made at supplier factories then shipped to the car company's assembly plant where they are assembled into the car you drive.

One supplier might make the seats or other interior parts, another makes the wheels, another the tires and so on. Generally the assembly starts with a car's frame, to which the engine, suspension, steering, brakes, transmission and other frame parts are attached as the frame moves down the assembly line. At each stop on the line other parts are added.

The body also moves down an assembly line where first it is rustproofed then painted and next all the windows, body panels, handles, interior and other body or interior parts are added.

As the frame and body near completion they flow to a station where they are joined and all the electrical and fluid connections are made and the car finally rolls off the assembly line as a full vehicle which is then shipped to your local dealer.
Cars take a lot of time and engineering on many different areas involved in vehicles. It probably takes 2 to 4 years to design, test, and begin the production on an assembly line. Once designs, safety, and financing is approved for a car is built and then it is sold at a dealership. The manufacturing process is almost as much of a project as designing the car. It has to be engineered just like anything else and advancement in robotic technology helps almost completely automate the process. Then cars are shipped off to dealers after being completely and sold to customers.

Why do your brake lights come on when you put low beam on?

Your tail lights are designed to come on with your low beams so that drivers behind you can see you better. It basically assumes that it is dark out. Im assuming you are referring to your tail lights, as tail lights and brake lights are two differing brightness bulbs in the same lens housing. Your tail lights will come on with your headlights, but your brake lights only come on when you depress the brake.

*Note: If you were referring to the actual brakelights, do not drive your car on public roads or your chances of being in a rear-end collision are very high. Take your car to a certified automotive technician and have them checked out.
