5/w30 Semi synthetic is recommended for a moderate climate

The oil recommended by Ford is, indeed, 5W/30 to Ford specification WSS-M2C 913-B

It's really very thin, almost like 3-in-1 oil when you drain it, in comparison to the gloopy multigrade oils which we used to use when I was a kid. Thin oils give better fuel consumption because the engine can turn more easily.

Depending on the year of the Fiesta. From 96 to 02 is under the bonnet; 02 onwards is by the passenger sit. 02 onwards: In the passenger footwell, remove the screw that retains the side facia panel against the centre consule, then remove the panel. Behind this panel is the filter housing. Remove the screws that retain the vertical rectangular cover on the filter housing. Remove the old filter from the housing. Insert the new filter into the housing. Refit the access cover and the facia panel. 96 to 02: Open the bonnet. At the base of the windscreen on the passenger side is a plastic housing under the slotted area of the bodywork strip that holds the wipers. If required for access to the housing, remove the soft rubber clip on profile that runs along the top of the rear of the engine bay bulk head. Unclip and pivot down the tabs on the housing. This will enable the access door to open upwards. Take the old filter out. Insert the new filter. Close the access door on the housing, clip the tabs on. If previously removed refit the rubber trip to the bulkhead.

Look for a canister looking holder for your fuel filter on the passenger side just forward your rear wheel. Follow the fuel lines if you can't find it.

the top radiator hose runs to the thermostat housing remove two bolts that hold housing look to see how the old thermostat comes out because the new one goes in just like the old one was clean all of the old gasket off both surfaces so that your new gasket can get a good seal now just put it back on the same as you took it off

Standard 87 octane should be fine.

Yes, a dirty cabin/pollen filter will restrict the ac/heater fan output.

take the clocks out of the dash where the speedometer is their is a load of wires coming out of that lpug it out and the green wire should be in number 10 connect to that

Push the yellow lever to the left to drain the fuel from the filter housing and then push it back to the original position. Unscrew the lid of the filter housing and pull out the filter (it is attached to the lid) Remove the filter from the lid by pulling it off. Remove the o-ring from the lid Reattach the new filter and o-ring to the lid Place the new filter and lid back into the housing and hand tighten. Before you start the truck: Cycle the key to the on position (do not start the truck) and wait until you hear the fuel pump stop, do this 3 or 4 times to prime the fuel system. Now you are ready to start the truck!

its easy there are 3 ways 1. unscrew the 2 bolts on the plastic air filter casing on top of the engine then spray some wd40 on the rubber gromits x2 at the back of the air box then pull up and you have it off next remove the 10 or so screws on the back of the box when this is done it pulls apart you can then clean or repace the standard filter. 2. if you leave the filter out of the box and refit you can then remove the air intake hose to the right of the box then put a cone k&n on the bend this improves the bhp and exelleration (instructions are included with the k&n)you will notice a faint sucking sound on exelleration wich sounds really sporty. 3. this is the one i went for. dont refit the air box insted get a k&n with a 8cm 1meter hose fit one end of the hose to the metal intakehole (where the butterfly plate is ) run along the top of the engine (from left to right) then secure with cable ties then fit the cone filter to the other end snd secure then you have finished (if you choose ths option you will notice a big difference in exelleration and bhp also you will get a grunty/sucking sound as you exellerate that sounds amazing. hope this helps thanx rob

As you look up at the number plate light there is a piece of plastic which can be bent back to release the casing. I found that a flat blade screwdriver (or even better two) helps.

You just need to prie the casing out then once your in, the bulb is in a holder which is screwed in, only takes a quarter turn to release the bulb.

It is pretty hard to get them out as they've probably never been taken out before. However the plastic is pretty tough so don't be afraid to force it a bit.

Bulb type is 501 on the mk5's the same fitment as the side lights.

and bottom of the cluster housing - these are exposed when you open the boot lid. You will see carpet overlain by a plastic trim piece running up from the boot floor toward the area to the side of the light cluster. The plastic is held by a single screw toward the rear end of the vehicle - undo this screw. Now, using a flat blade slide under the plastic and over the top of the carpet trim and prise the carpet to the front exposing enough room to get your hand under the plastic and behind the light cluster. You will see (or feel) a plastic wing nut which needs to be loosened and removed. Its head is about 1 inch in diameter and it takes 15 to 20 turns to loosen. Do not drop it inside the void!!!

Pull the whole cluster away from the rear of the car then unclip the bulb housing from the plastic ouetr casing (2 grey/white clips). Change the bulb(s) as required. Re clip the bulb hosing into the rear of the glass then push the glass back into place using the 2 locating pins on the outer flank. Holding the housing, carefully replace the wing nut till finger tight, tuck the carpet trim back under the plastic and screw down then finally replace the 2 outer screws.

if its a mk 6 fiesta there in the usual place, if you sit in the seat they are either side of your bum, slip your fingers between seat base and seat back and you'll feel them, only just out of sight, doesnt appear to be a top tether connection tho

The rear wheel bearing is an assembly and is very easy to replace, just 4 bolts attached to the spindle. And you have to line the hole on the lug bolts plate, one at a time.

If the belt is broken, you'll have to change the engine as well as the valves will have gone through the pistons.

Get the belt changed before it's done 100,000miles to be on the safe side as they will break without warning when worn.

Locate the spark plug or plugs. They can be found by following the spark plug wire (a larger black or colored wire leading to the cylinder head). If there is more than one plug, make sure you write down or label each spark plug wire before you take it off. This is important, as on an 8 cylinder engine, you can easily forget which wire goes where.

Pull your radio from the dash and write down the serial number it should start with an M followed by 6 digits.

The reverse lights switch on a Ford Fiesta is found on the transmission. The switch can be seen from underneath the car.
