I put a new one in our 2001 and it still doesn't work. You need to check and make sure those morons at Ford connected the wire to it. There are some bleeding-hearts working there that evidently think they can stop you from smoking in YOUR car by eliminating this hookup. Some vehicles don't even have lighters and ash trays. I guess they forget this is the age that a 12V hookup is needed for players, chargers, etc. My guess is they're not gouging us enough for vehicles, so they "eliminate stuff for SAFETY's sake." BULL!

You can only tow an automatic on "all fours" for about 40-50 miles. To go long distances, you need a tow dolly to get the front wheels off the ground. A straight-stick you can tow with a tow-bar, in NEUTRAL, of course.

remove the exhaust pipe from under the motor. then between the motor and transmission you will see a plate with 2 bolts , take them out and then the cover will come off . then turn the motor with flat head screw driver to flywheel until the the nuts are in that opening and unbolt.

I had the same problem with my wife's 2000 Focus. The problem was a wiring harness laying against the steel heat tube for the EGR. Look between the battery box and the end of the engine. The harness is about the diameter of a man's finger and contained 6 or 8 wires. Two of the wires had completely burned through and were fused together causing a direct short. Once I repaired the wires there were no more problems. This was a defect in workmanship when the car was assembled at the factory, so there could be more like it. I know this because I know the history of this car since it was new. Good luck.

You have to wind the jack out to an almost 90o angle between the side pieces and then fold the handle over the jack. Line up the hole on the handle with the right hand hole in the bottom of the trunk, and fasten down with the short bolt. Then line up the spare wheel over the top, the squareish shape of the jack will now fit easily inside the round well of the wheel and you then use the longer bolt with the large plastic flange / washer to fasten it down.

We have a company here in Maryland called Mr. Tire.

The other day Carol was going to her friend's house, who is away at a seminar for Wawa, and she heart a pop, and then a whap, whap, whap at the left front of her/our car. Thankfully, she immediately pulled over and called me, probably the first time she's used her cell phone in a month, but then, that's what we have them for. And then we called AAA.

Long story short, the tire, which was 6 or 7 years old, had dry-rotted and still had tread on it/them, and it just gave up the ghost. That, and they were "Made in China." I've had tires in the 60s and 70s and 80s that were 10+ years old and they never "dry-rotted." If you'll pay particular notice, Chinese rubber isn't the best quality. Their tires "dry-rot," their rubber bands "dry-rot," and everything they make from rubber (and other stuff) is sub-standard, because we let them get away with it by continually buying their JUNK. And they poison our pets, poison our children with lead paint, etc., etc.

Anyway, this is my point, when you go to get tires, ask where they're made. And watch out for the "deals" they're giving. Pep Boys is famous for "Buy Three Get The Fourth One Free." So is Mr. Tire. These are Chinese tires, folks. And each one was $129. So, $129 x 3, of course, is $387, right?

NOW, the Kelly Springfield tires, made by Goodyear, I understand, are made in the good ol' US of A. And 4 of them cost us $312, tax, balance, on the floor and out the door! My KS tires cost me $78 each. The Chinese brand at 3 for $129 each and a freebie if you divide by 4, are still almost $95. Whoopie!!

So, watch what you buy. And BTW, those Kellys, with 33# of air, ride like a cloud on our Focus. It's a 2001 and made in Canada, FYI. Not Tokyo.

It is not in the valve cover, as on other Focus engines. It is on the side of the engine, under the intake manifold, plugged into the "oil separator". It is possible to reach it from underneath, albeit blindly, if you have the car on a rack. The service manual suggests removing the intake manifold to get to it. The difficulty in reaching it may have something to do with the service schedule for replacement being set way out at 100,000 miles.

Belt diagrams help the person changing the belt know that they are replacing the part correctly. A diagram for a 2002 Ford Focus belt routing can be found in the maintenance manual.

The 2010 Ford Focus has an EPA mpg rating of 35 miles per gallon highway and 24 miles per gallon city. My grandma has an '08 Focus and she gets 33 highway and 27 city.

Well a ford focus zx2 is not a real car no matter tough the ZX2 escort and the Ford Focus zx3, zx4, zx5 all used the same engine if it says zetec on it the egr valve can be located ont he back right corner of the engine. easiest way to descride it is it looks like a UFO it has a small vaccum line int he top center with a large pipe runnig out of the intake manifold into its side and another pipe running from the bottom to the exhaust manifold. If you really need a picture i suggest go to ebay.com and search for zetec egr its alot easier than google or yahoo because autoparts vendors useually post pictures of the part only and useually take very good pictures of what they are trying to sell.

If you are referring to Ecoboost in regard to the new Taurus and such, its a turbocharger. In addition to a turbo(or twin turbo) system it employs direct injection fuel delivery. GM switched to similar "technology" several years ago for the SS Cobalts and Soltice, etc. Direct injection allows much more precise (and efficient) fuel delivery increasing turbocharged application reliability to "acceptable manufacturer" levels.

You change them from the INSIDE.

Assuming this is a loose and rattling exhaust heat shield, the more effective repair is to use a large worm drive style hose clamp to tighten it. It may be necessary to use more that one clamp joined together. Put the clamp around the loose area of the heat shield and tighten it.

It is located in the underhood fuse panel on the drivers side behind the battery. It is the the fuse #8 counting from left to right. 30 amp. NOT the small maxi fuses and NOT the relays.

you need to take the spindl off then you got to press the hub out then look for a snap ring then press the bearing out and repet backwards
