A 1.8 tdci focus eng. is a Dura- Torq 1753cc DIESEL eng. TDIC =turbo diesel commonrail injection. I have three focui(?) 2- 1.6 gas , one auto and one stick (2000-1999) and one 1.8tdci auto 2006. ALL three use semi synthetic 5w30 f type oil, for use in Zetec and duratec and dura torq gas and diesel eng. For Ford diesel semi -synthetic IS A MUST due high internal eng.temps. My 2000 1.6 gas auto has lived on zetec 5w30 for the last 363376 miles.

If you've changed the oil, there might be TWO gaskets on there, if the old one was stuck to the engine, instead of coming off with the filter. Take it off and check and install a new one, in case there's a flaw in the one on there. Also, don't forget to put some grease on the new gasket before installing the filter. Hand tighten ONLY. If you use a filter wrench to install THAT will ruin the gasket seal.
There is a simple test to check the battey. With the headlights on, try and start the car. If the headlights go out the battery is weak and should be replaced. If they stay on then suspect the starter is bad. Another thing it might be is the start relay or fuse. Refer to your owners manual for the specific location of these items.
Because you disturbed the sensors. Unhooking the battery for awhile then rehooking after about 15 minutes, should reset the computer.
